Chapter 1: Getting Started

HQ 30 Overview

This guide describes the features of HQ30.

Status icons

The icons in the status spot on the device give information about HQ30.

Status icon What it means

Red light Charger mode You’re charging when the Red one lighting and stop full charged.

Green light Video mode 720P Video

Yellow light Video mode VGA Video

Blue light Picture mode Shoot pictures

Green&Yellow light Sound mode record sound

Yellow&Blue light loop mode loop record

Accessories

The following accessories are included with HQ30.

Connecting cable. Using USB Cable to connect your computer to sync and charge.

HQ 30 car charger. Using with USB Cable to charge the HQ30 battery when you are driving.

Multi-function AV cable. To charge your HQ30,as well as TV video and audio output.

Note:

There are 3 cables for this camera, the RCA cable with red & yellow ends used for A/V out, the shorter

data cable that charges or transfers data, the longer car charger cable used with car charger to record and

charge at same time.

Charging:

In order to protect the battery, please turn off the device before charging.

Getting Started

Install the memory card

HQ30 supports up to 32 GB TF microSD card. The device can’t work without memory card.

Take photos and videos

Camera offers several photo, audio and video modes, which let you shoot 720p,VGA video and

pictures as well as record whatever sound you like.

How to use

Shoot 720p videos

Press the POWER/MODE button, then the light is on,

Press the POWER/MODE button, switch to the green light is on

Next, press the SHUTTER button to start recording. (the light will blink three time and off, that mean

the device under recording.)

Finally, press the SHUTTER button again. (That means the device stop recording and save files to your

TF card.)

Shoot VGA videos

1. Press the POWER/MODE button, then the light is on.

2. Press the POWER/MODE button, switch to the yellow light is on.

3. Next, press the SHUTTER button to start recording. (the light will blink three time and off, that mean

the device under recording.)

4. Finally, press the SHUTTER button again. (The light is on again, that means the device stop

recording and save files to your TF card.)

Take pictures

1. Press the POWER/MODE button, then the light is on.

2. Press the POWER/MODE button, switch to the blue light is on.

3. Next, press the SHUTTER button to shoot a picture. (the light will blink three time and then off,

finally the blue light will on again, that means the device finished shooting picture .)

4. press SHUTTER button for one time, it will take one picture, if you hold the button, it can take 3

pictures continuously.

Record

1. Press the POWER/MODE button, then the light is on,

2. Press the POWER/MODE button, switch to the green and yellow light is on at the same time.

3. Next, press the SHUTTER button to record. (the light will blink three time and then off, that means

the device stop recording and save files to your TF card)

4. Finally, Press the SHUTTER button to stop recording.( The light will on again, that means the device

stop recording and save files to your TF card.)

Web Cam(memory card excluded)

Using USB cable to connect your PC/laptop, open AM-Cap or MSN, you can use as a high-end cam to

talk with your friends.

Web Cam(memory card included)

Connect your PC via USB cable, the PC will read your card directly. You need to press the SHUTTER

button to switch web-cam mode. Press the SHUTTER button again and the PC read memory card again.

Read memory card via your PC

Using USB cable to connect your PC/laptop, press the POWER/MODE button to start the unit, in

this case, your computer can read your card.

Read content via your TV

1，At shut off status, use TV-Out cable to TV, the yellow RCA connected to TV video input port, the

white RCA connected to audio input, turn on the TV to choose to corresponding Input Interface, start the

unit by press the POWER button, the TV will display the video or photo content in the memory card,

press the POWER button to browse the next file, if it is a video or audio file, please press the SHUTTER

button to playback.

2， On browsing TV status, press power button for 3 seconds, you can operate all function. Include take

video, photo and record sound.

Setting (parameter)

Create a txt file and named BESTDVR.txt.(uppercase)

You can type in parameters, for instance: (All parameter must be lowercase.)

Example, open by Notepad on PC.

Note:

Photo=3m values=1m,3m,5m //Set photo as 1.3M ,3M ,5 Mega pixels.

Frequency=60 values = 50 /60 //Set frequency to 60hz or 50 hz.

tv=n values=p /n //set TV format as p=PAL , n=NTSC

timestamp=0 values =0 /1 //Set 0= turn off timestamp 1= turn on timestamp

workmode=1 values =1/2/3/4/5 //Set start mode 1=HD, 2=VGA ,3=photo ,4=sound, 5=loop

cycle=3 values=3/5/10 //Set video files length 3=3min, 5=5min,10=10min

led=1 values =0 /1 // Set record LED whether flashing 0=off, 1=open

vol=3 values =0 /3 // Set record whether sound 0=No sound, 3=ON

start=1 values =0/1 //Set Press power key immediately record 0=N, 1=Yes

sleep=1 values =1/2/3/4 // Set Standby time 1=30s 2=1m 3=3m 4=5minutes

ev=0 values =-2/-1/0/+1/+2 // Set exposure value

LED indicator tips

1, insert USB cable ,LED1 lit , means it is charging ,if the light is off means battery is

full after charging.( The unit cannot be charged in the work ,need off the unit to charged.)

2, turn on the unit, led4 flash 3 times then shut off, it means that battery is shortage, now

you need to charging.

3, turn on the unit, led3 flash 3 times then shut off, it means that card is full, now you

need to change a card.

4,turn on the unit, LED2/3/4 flash 3 times at the same time, shut off means no card.
