Introduction
The Model T32799 Dressing Stone can be used
to clean an aluminum oxide or silicon carbide
stone grinding wheel when it is loaded with metal
filings. The coarse side can also be used to adjust
the grit of the wheel to 220 while the fine side can
be used to adjust the grit to 1000.

Using Dressing Stone
Use the following steps to clean or adjust the grit
of a grinding wheel.
Eye and face injuries and respiratory prob-
lems can occur while operating this tool.
Wear personal protective equipment to
reduce your risk from these hazards.
Keep hair, clothing, and
jewelry away from mov-
ing parts at all times.
Entanglement can result
in death, amputation, or
severe crushing injuries!

To use dressing stone:
1. DISCONNECT GRINDER FROM POWER!
2. Install desired grinding wheel on grinder.

4. Connect grinder to power and turn machine
ON.
5. Carefully place stone against tool rest (if
present) and lower it onto grinding wheel
against wheel rotation (see Figure 5).
If cleaning 220-grit wheel or changing
grit to 220, place coarse-grained surface
against wheel.
If cleaning 1000-grit wheel or changing
grit to 1000, place fine-grained surface
against wheel.
6. Press stone against grinding wheel for
approximately 20 seconds or until desired
results are achieved.
7. Turn machine OFF.

3. Adjust tool rest on grinder as determined by
the set up of your grinder and as described
below:
— For slow-speed grinders like the one
shown in Figure 2, adjust tool rest about
12" away from grinding wheel so that
when dressing stone is applied, it will be
pressed against wheel rotation.
For slow-speed and high-speed grinders
like the ones shown in Figures 34, adjust
tool rest within 18" of grinding wheel and so
that when dressing stone is applied, it will
be pressed against wheel rotation.
