Periodically clean the appliance with a new cloth and a solution of
lukewarm water and neutral detergent specific for cleaning inside
refrigerators. Never use abrasive detergents. Clean inside the defrost
water drain outlet on the rear wall of the refrigerator near the fruit and
vegetable drawer regularly, using the tool supplied with the appliance in
order to ensure defrost water is removed correctly.
CHANGING BULB (depending on the model)
Always unplug the appliance from the mains before changing the bulb.
1. Loosen the screws and take off the lamp cover.
2. The lamp has a bayonet bulb and needs to be extracted not
unscrewed, following the directions of the arrows as indicated.
After the new bulb has been inserted, replace the lamp cover and wait
five minutes before plugging the fridge back in.
Only use bulbs of the same type which can be requested from the after-
sales service and authorized dealers.
LED LIGHTS (depending on the model)
LED lights last longer than normal bulbs, they illuminate better and are
more environmentally friendly.
Contact the after-sales service to replace LEDs.
Connect the appliance to the mains power supply. The right temperatures for the storage of foodstuffs are
preset in the factory.
The buzzer sound indicates a temperature alarm: press and hold the button to switch off acoustic alarms.
Where applicable, insert the anti-bacterial and anti-odour filter into the fan as indicated on the filter
package (see Refrigeration Compartment section).
Note: After switching on, the refrigerator needs approximately 4/5 hours to reach the correct
temperature to store a normal fridge load of food.
FIRST USE
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
APPLIANCE
10
Unplug the appliance from the mains, empty, defrost and clean it. Leave the doors open just enough to
allow air to circulate inside both compartments. This will prevent odour and mould from setting in.
WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS NOT USED
Keep the doors closed to allow the stored food to stay cold as long as possible. Do not refreeze partially
thawed food. If the blackout persists, the blackout alarm may sound.
DURING BLACKOUTS
It is important to wrap food so that water, moisture, vapour or condensation can't get in, preventing
odours or aromas from building up inside the appliance and allowing better storage of frozen food. Never
place hot foods in the freezer compartment which will save energy and prolong the life of the appliance.
Note: The ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and position of the appliance can affect the
temperature inside the two compartments. Set the temperature based on these factors.
FOOD STORAGE
The refrigerator compartment is designed for the storage of fresh food and beverages.
Refrigerator compartment defrosting is completely automatic.
Droplets of water on the rear wall of the compartment indicate that the periodic automatic defrost cycle
is in progress. The defrost water is automatically routed to a drain outlet and into a container from which
it evaporates.
Depending on the model, the appliance may have a meat and fish box which is ideal for the storage of
fresh meat and fish.
Important: Refrigerator accessories must not be washed in a dishwasher.
Note: when there is a lot of moisture in the air inside the refrigerator compartment and on the glass
shelves in particular, there is a risk of condensation forming. In this case, we recommend you seal
containers with liquid inside (pots of soup), wrap up any foodstuffs containing moisture (vegetables) and
set the fridge temperature to a slightly higher temperature.
Fan and anti-bacterial and anti-odour filter (depending on model)
The fan will ensure the uniform circulation of air inside the compartment which stores food better and
reduces excess moisture. Do not obstruct the fan inlet. The fan activates automatically as and when
necessary.
REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT
11
The freezer compartment keeps frozen food (for the period indicated on the package) and freezes
fresh food.
The freezer compartment should be defrosted manually.
The quantity of fresh food that can be frozen in 24 hours (using the "Quick Freeze" function - see Quick
Start guide) is shown on the rating plate. To freeze fresh food, place it on the top or highest shelf, leaving
enough space around packages to allow air to circulate.
Refreezing partially thawed food is not recommended. Do not place food to be frozen beside food that is
already frozen. When freezing large quantities of food, a temperature alarm may occur.
Removing drawers (depending on model)
Pull the drawers all the way out, lift them up a little and remove.
Note: to obtain more space, the freezer compartment can also be used without the upper drawers. We
recommend leaving the lower drawer in. Check that once all foodstuffs have been replaced on
racks/shelves the door closes properly.
Making ice cubes
Fill the ice cube tray (where provided) 2/3 full and place it in the freezer compartment. Never use sharp
or pointed objects to remove it.
Note: Ambient air temperature, the frequency of door opening and the position of the appliance can all
affect temperatures inside the refrigerator and freezer compartments. We therefore recommend you set
the temperature on the basis of these factors.
FREEZER COMPARTMENT
We recommend defrosting the freezer once or twice a year or when
excessive frost has formed (3mm thick). It is perfectly normal for ice
to form. The amount of ice which forms and the rate at which it builds
up depends on room temperature and humidity, and on how often the
door is opened. To defrost, unplug the appliance and remove all
foodstuffs. Leave the door ajar to allow frost to melt. Pull the defrost
water drain pipe (see figure) out and place a basin underneath it. After
defrosting, replace the drain pipe being careful that no water is left in it.
Clean inside the freezer compartment and dry carefully. Switch the
appliance back on and replace foodstuffs inside.
HOW TO DEFROST THE FREEZER
COMPARTMENT
12
The meat and fish box was designed specially to keep foods fresher longer, without altering nutritional
values or original freshness.
Do not store fruit or vegetables in this box, since the temperature may drop below 0°C, causing water
contained in the food to freeze.
Temperature adjustment
The temperature inside the meat and fish box is shown by the position of the arm on the door of the box,
and depends on the general temperature of the refrigerator compartment.
We recommend setting the temperature of the refrigerator compartment between +2° and +6°.
To work out if the temperature inside the Meat and Fish box is right, refer to the pictures below:
Important: when the function is activated and there are foodstuffs with a high water content,
condensation may form on shelves. In this case, disable the function temporarily.
Removing the Meat & Fish box:
To obtain more space inside the refrigerator, the Meat & Fish box can be
removed. In this case proceed as follows:
1. Remove the drawer from the compartment (Figure 1).
2. Remove the drawer lid by loosening the hooks on the bottom of the
lid (Figure 2).
To re-insert the Meat & Fish box, make sure the lid is re-attached
before inserting the drawer and reactivate the function.
3. Press and hold the "Meat & Fish box" button for three seconds until
the yellow LED goes out.
To optimize energy consumption, we recommend you disable the Meat &
Fish box and remove all related components (except for the Fruit and
Vegetable crisper lid).
IMPORTANT
If the control panel does not show the symbol (see Quick
Reference Guide), to guarantee correct appliance operation, adequate
food storage conditions and to optimize energy consumption, do not
remove the Meat and Fish box.
MEAT AND FISH BOX
(depending on model)
When the arm points to the left, you need to
raise the temperature in the refrigerator
compartment.
When the arm points in the middle, the
temperature is ok.
When the arm points to the right, you need
to lower the temperature in the refrigerator
compartment.
