2. Minimum tools required

• Tape measure
• Phillips screwdriver
• Drill and ¼” drill bit
3. Optional tools (not required, but recommended)
• Level
4. Installation (follow steps below in the order they appear)
Determine location and measure
• Determine the width of your floating shelf (should be 24”, 36” or 48”).
• With a pencil, mark lightly on the wall where the edges of the shelf will be. (see image below)
• TOP: Mark on the wall where the top edge of your shelf will be.
• LEFT: Mark on the wall where the left edge of your shelf will be.
• RIGHT: Starting from the ‘left edge mark’ made in the previous step, measure and mark
where the right edge of your shelf will be. Measure twice to ensure the distance
between left and right marks is equal to the width of your shelf.
• With a pencil, mark where the drywall anchors will be installed in the wall. (see image below)
• Make marks 6” in from the left and right ‘edge marks’ and ¾” below the ‘top mark’.
(these marks will determine the location of drywall anchors)
• Use a tape measure to ensure both wall marks are at the same height (or a level to
ensure both wall marks are level). At this point, the edge marks are no longer necessary
and may be erased.
