without first of all correctly installing
the Pruner Attachment (see
paragraph 4 Fitting) (refer to Brush
cutter manual. Same conditions
apply)
STARTING THE ENGINE
1) Position the hedge trimmer in a safe starting
position.
2) Rest the motor on the ground and arrange
the equipment so that the chain does not touch
the ground or any other object (we suggest rest-
ing it on a trunk, a piece of wood or on a raised
part of the ground) see fig.12.
3) Remove the chain guard.
4) Get into a stable position.
5) With the left hand, push hard the equipment
on the ground.
6) Do not rest the foot or the knee onto the shaft.
7) Start the engine as shown in the Brush
Cutter manual (fig. 24).
IMPORTANT - HAZARD !! The
engine starts and remains half
accelerated and so the chain is
moving. Leave the motor to run for a few
seconds for heating.
Operate the trigger once to run the motor at
minimum and then stop the cutting chain.
IMPORTANT - HAZARD !! If the chain
does not stop at minimum motor
speed, contact an after-sales center
(refer to Brushcutter manual).
STOPPING THE ENGINE
1) To stop the engine, move the switch (fig. 25
item 1) to the “OFF” position.
12
PRUNER INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
WARNING! The cutting device will
continue to rotate for some time even
after moving the switch to the “OFF”
position. Firmly hold the two handles

on/off switch in order to act promptly
in case of emergency.
8. OPERATION
HOW TO USE THE PRUNER ATTACHMENT
1) Latch the belt hook (fig. 11 item 1) onto the
ring (fig. 11 item 2).

shown in fig.11. (refer to Brushcutter manual).
DURING OPERATION
If a dangerous condition occurs,
immediately switch off the engine by
pressing the switch to the OFF
position.
The product is not electrically
isolated. Make sure there are no
electric cables or high voltage
cables in the working area. DANGER
OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Always hold the hedge trimmer with both
hands.
Cut by pressing the accelerator lever as far
as it will go and enter into contact with the
wood when the motor is running at top
speed.
8.1 BRANCH PRUNING
- Before removing a branch, make sure:
1) There is no one or no animals where the
branch will fall.
2) Select the branch drop direction so as to be
able to move away in the opposite direction.
3) Make sure the escape route is free of
obstacles.
4) When choosing the drop direction, take the
following varying factors into account.
a) Overgrown branches.
b) Branch angle.
c) Wind direction (do not use when the wind is
very strong)
d) – Damaged wood
5) Carefully observe the environmental
conditions described in the “GENERAL
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS” paragraph.

9. MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORT
For maintenance operations relating to the
engine, see the enclosed Brush Cutter
manual.
CHECKING THE SCREWS AND MOVING
PARTS
# Before each use, check that there are no
loose screws or parts and that the cutting device

touch the box without safety gloves.
Danger of burns
9.1 CHAIN
MAINTENANCE AND SHARPENING
- With a correctly sharpened chain, work is less
tiring, cutting performance is good and there is
no abnormal wear of mechanical parts and bar.
- Before sharpening, the chain must be
tensioned by means of the chain tightener
(fig.17) see “CHAIN CHANGING” chapter.
- After sharpening, loosen the chain as per fit-
ting instructions.
- Use a round file (specific for chains) with
diameter 5/32" (4 mm) fig. 22 part. 1.
Keep to the sharpening angles as in (fig.22
part.2-3).
- Sharpen by filing from inside outwards (fig.22
part.5) all the teeth on one side and then those
on the opposite side.
- Position the file so it protrudes by about 1 mm
(fig.22 part.4) above the level of the cutting
edges.
9.2 CHAIN
CHANGING AND TENSIONING
CAUTION! DO NOT START THE
PRUNER EQUIPMENT UNTIL THE
BAR AND CHAIN HAVE BEEN FIT-
TED AND ADJUSTED.
WEAR SAFETY GLOVES TO PER
FORM THESE OPERATIONS. THE
CUTTING TEETH (OF THE CHAIN)
CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
1) Position the body of the equipment as shown
in fig. 15.
2) Loosen the nut (fig.15 part.1) and remove the
cover.
3) Turn the chain tightening screw (fig. 17 part 1)
anticlockwise (loosen) and move back the chain
tightening tooth (fig.20 part.1).
4) Remove the chain guide bar from the stud
bolt screw (fig.18 part.1).
5) Remove the chain from the pinion (fig.19).
6) Fit the new or sharpened chain around the
bar (fig. 21). The teeth of the upper section must
be positioned as shown in the detail.
7) Position the chain guide bar on the stud bolt
screw (fig. 19).
CAUTION !! Correctly couple the chain teeth
with the relevant pinion teeth (fig.19).
8) Slightly tighten (clockwise) the chain tighte-
ning screw for an initial light tension (fig.19).
9) Fit the chain cover back on and manually
tighten the nut.
10) Complete chain tensioning by screwing
up (clockwise) the chain tension screw (fig.17).
When the proper tension has been reached, the
c
hain can be raised with two fin
g
ers to the poin
t
where an entire guide tooth is visible (Fig.26).

YOU NEED TO FIT OR REMOVE THE
CHAIN PROTECTION.
11) Fully tighten the two nuts with the key pro-
vided (Fig.15) keeping the point of the bar
raised. Check that the chain can run freely in the
bar.
NOTE!! The tension of a new chain must be
checked and set (with the engine off and the
brake on) after a few minutes of work.
STORAGE
# Clean the pruner equipment.
# Do not clean with harsh cleaners.
# Keep the pruner equipment in a dry
and safe place, inaccessible to children.
BAR
- Periodically clean the chain race and oil pas-
sages.
