To power your Adapter with the Truck, follow Steps 5A-1 & 5A-2
- OR - To power your Adapter with a battery, follow Steps 5B-1 & 5B-2
Close all windows on your computer
Connect the Tractor to the Trailer
Turn on the tractor’s ignition
Connect USB cable to the adapter Connect USB cable to the computer
Connect the J560 Power cable to the
J560 T-Connector
Connect the alligator clips to the
battery terminals Red (+) & Black ()
Insert Driver CD into CD/DVD drive Connect J560 T-Connector to Trailer Connect J560 T-Connector to Adapter

Connect the other end of the J560 T-Connector Cable
(P/N: 32111) to the Trailer Diagnostic Adapter.
Connect the 7-pin end of the J560 T-Connector Cable
(P/N: 32111) to the trailer.

Insert the ABS Diagnostics CD or the Trailer Diagnostic
Adapter Driver CD into your CD or DVD drive. You can also
download the latest Trailer Diagnostic Adapter drivers from:
www.JPROFleetProducts.com/downloads/drivers
If using the software CD, the installation
program will begin automatically.
If using the download drivers, begin the
installation process by running the file
you just downloaded.

Close all other running applications
Connect the USB cable to the “Computer” port on the Trailer
Diagnostic Adapter.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on
the PC.
Installing Hardware If you are using Windows XP:
a. Windows XP will display the Found New Hardware
wizard NOTE: If the Found New Hardware Wizard
fails to start, be sure that the USB cable is seated
completely in the adapter’s USB port.
b. If asked to connect to Windows Update, Select “No,
not this time” and click “Next”
c. Select “Install the Software Automatically” and
click “Next”.
d. Click “Finish to complete the installation
e. You are now ready to use your adapter!
Installing Hardware If you are using Windows 7 or newer:
a. Windows will automatically connect to the
Adapter. You may see an update message in the
systems icons section of the taskbar.
b. You are now ready to use your Adapter!
Follow these steps to start using your Trailer Diagnostic Adapter:
To Power your Trailer Diagnostic Adapter:
A) If powering the Trailer Diagnostic Adapter from the truck:
1. Connect the Tractor’s 7-pin connector to the male end of
the J560 T-Connector Cable.
2. Turn on the ignition.
B) If powering the Trailer Diagnostic Adapter from a battery:
1. Connect male end of the J560 T-Connector Cable to the
female end of the J560 Power Adapter Cable (PN: 121003)
2. Connect the Black (-) Power Adapter alligator clip to the
Negative (-) battery terminal & connect the Red (+) Power
Adapter alligator clip to the Positive (+) battery terminal.
