4 INSTALLATION
Before installing, select:
1) The Wheel and crown adaptor (Fig. 1 ref. - ) most suitable for
the type of roller to be moved.
2) The motor support most suitable for the application.
4.1 ASSEMBLY OF TUBULAR MOTOR
1) Fit the crown adaptor (Fig.2 ref.a) on the tubular motor, until it is completely
inserted on the guide (Fig. 2 ref. b) on the travel-limit ring-nut.
2) Insert the wheel adaptor on the motor shaft (Fig. 2 ref. ) and secure it
with the supplied Seeger ring (Fig. 2 ref. ).

90 RX - 90 RW 640
1) Drill a hole with a 3 mm diam. bit on the roller (Fig. 3 ref. ) at distance
A (Fig. 3 ref. ), referring to table 1.
2) Insert the assembled tubular motor inside the roller from the side opposite
the cap, until the crown adaptor is completely inside the roller (Fig. 4
ref. ).
3) Secure the wheel adaptor to the roller with a 4x10 self-tapping screw
inserted in the hole you had drilled, as shown in Fig. 4 ref. .
4) Install the selected motor from the electric facilities side.
5) Secure the motorised roller, exerting light pressure on the motor support
(Fig. 5 ref. ), and on the cap support (Fig. 5 ref. ), so that the travel-
limit adjustment screws are accessible.
6) Make sure that the motorised roller is perfectly horizontal and, if necessary,
modify the height of the cap or motor supports.
4.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
1) Before attempting any action on the system, cut out the electrical
power supply.
2) Install an omnipolar switch on the power supply line for the auto-
mated system, with contact opening distance of 3mm or more.
4.3.1 VERSION ROLL-UP 45 RX
The RX series tubular motor can be controlled by either the remote-control
or by the step-by-step logic push-button.
AUTOMATED SYSTEM CONTROLLED BY BOTH REMOTE CONTROL:
If you wish to use this type of configuration, connect the motor’s blue and
brown wire to the power mains and the yellow-green wire to earth. Do not
connect the black wire.
A
UTOMATED SYSTEM CONTROLLED BY BOTH REMOTE CONTROL AND PUSH-BUTTON:
If you wish to use this type of configuration, connect the motor as shown
in the lay-out in figure 6.
The push-button is provided with step-by-step logic - every pressure
exerted on the key sends a pulse to the motor (EXAMPLE: FIRST PUL-
SE RISE - SECOND PULSE STOP - THIRD PULSE DESCENT, etc). After a
descent or rise command, the motor stays active until the relevant
travel-limit stop is reached.
4.3.2 VERSION ROLL-UP 45 RW
The RW series tubular motor can be controlled by either the remote-control
or by the step-by-step logic push-button. Furthermore, a wind sensor (Anemo-
meter) can be connected to the motor, which commands the roller shutter
to withdraw, as soon as the wind has reached a speed of over 20 km/h.
• When the anemometer intervenes, the motor rotation direction is
the same as that commanded by the UP push-button of the radio
control.
• When the anemometer intervenes the DOWN command is disabled
for 8 minutes.
A
UTOMATED SYSTEM CONTROLLED BY REMOTE-CONTROL AND ANEMOMETER:
If you wish to use this type of configuration, connect the motor’s blue and
brown wire to the power mains and the yellow-green wire to earth. Do not
connect the black wire.
The ANEMOMETER should be connected as shown in figure 7.
A

ENGLISH
The push-button is provided with step-by-step logic - every pressure
exerted on the key sends a pulse to the motor (EXAMPLE: FIRST PUL-
SE RISE - SECOND PULSE STOP - THIRD PULSE DESCENT, etc). After a
descent or rise command, the motor stays active until the relevant
travel-limit stop is reached.
4.4 HOW TO USE THE RADIO CONTROLS
On the remote-control, every single pressure of the rise or descent key
commands a complete movement. To stop a manoeuvre, press the
STOP push-button, otherwise the motor will continue operating until
the relevant travel-limit stop is reached.
4.4.1 HOW TO MEMORY-STORE THE FIRST TRANSMITTER
According to the type of configuration of your installation (Fig. 9), follow the
instructions in the following paragraphs.
Fig. 7
T
YPE 1 AND 4
Power up the motor. The receiver installed in the motor goes into the pro-
gramming phase, moving the motor in both directions for 1 second.
Press key (DESCENT) of the transmitter within 15 seconds.
To confirm correct programming, the motor moves again in both direc-
tions for 1 second.
Run some brief rise, stop and descent manoeuvres to check correct
operation.
T
YPE 2 AND 3
Power up the motor. The receiver installed in the motor goes into the pro-
gramming phase, moving the motor in both directions for 1 second.
Press key (RISE) of the transmitter within 15 seconds.
To confirm correct programming, the motor moves again in both direc-
tions for 1 second.
Run some brief rise, stop and descent manoeuvres to check correct
operation.
If memory storage is not successful, give a reset command (CHAP.
4.4.3) and repeat the procedure.
4.4.2 ADDITION OF OTHER RADIO CONTROLS
Press and hold down for 5 seconds the STOP key of the transmitter
(already stored in the memory); the motor moves for 1 second in both
directions.
Press the RISE key within 5 seconds, and press the DESCENT Key within the
next 5 seconds; the motor moves in both directions for 1 second.
Press the RISE push-button of the NEW transmitter within 5 seconds. If the
new transmitter was correctly memory-stored, the motor moves in both
directions for 1 second.
If the memory storage was not successfully performed, repeat the
procedure.
Up to 32 transmitters can be memory-stored in every receiver. If all
the receiver’s memories are occupied, the motor moves twice in
both directions.
4.4.3 DELETION OF INTERNAL RECEIVER MEMORY ( RESET )
Cut power to the motor.
Connect the black wire to the brown wire. (If you have the step-by-step
push-button, chapt. 4.3.1 / 4.3.2, just hold it down without making any
connection.
Power up the motor
After 5 seconds, the motor moves in both directions for 1 second, signal-
ling that the memory was completely deleted
Cut power to the motor again.
Disconnect the black and brown wire. (Release the push-button if you
have the step-by-step push-button chap. 4.3.1 - 4.3.2)
5 ADJUSTMENT OF THE TRAVEL-LIMIT STOPS
A system of electro-mechanical travel-limit stop is housed inside the GENIUS
tubular motors. These stops cut power to the motor, when the opening or
closing limit of the roller-shutter is reached.

5.2 ADJUSTMENT OF DESCENT TRAVEL-LIMIT STOP
1) Hold down the descent push-button
2) Using the adjustment tool (Fig. 1 ref. ), turn the screw of the travel-limit stop corresponding to the roller’s descent rotation direction (Fig. 8 ref. ), toward
the plus sign (+) to increase the travel of the roller shutter, or toward the minus sign (-) to reduce it.
5.3 ADJUSTMENT OF RISE TRAVEL-LIMIT STOP
1) Hold down the rise push-button
2) Using the adjustment tool (Fig. 1 ref. ), turn the screw of the travel-limit stop corresponding to the roller’s rise rotation direction (Fig. 9 ref. ), toward
the plus sign (+) to increase the travel of the roller shutter, or toward the minus sign (-) to reduce it.
