Standardsolutionsareformulatedundertightlycontrolled

conditionstoensureaccuracy.Becauseeachstandard's

concentrationisknown,theycanbeusedtoverifythe

accuracyofanybrandoftestkit.Simplysubstitutethe

applicablestandardforthepoolorspawatersampleyou

wouldordinarilyuse.Forexample,use25mLofR‐7064

(AlkalinityStandardSolution100ppm)toreplacea25mL

poolwatersampleinanalkalinitytest.Thenfollowyour

testkitdirections.

Usingpropertechniqueandfreshreagents,thetestresults

shouldmatchthevaluesprintedonthelabelsofthestandard

solutions(+/‐10%onthealkalinity,hardness,andcyanuricacid

testsand+/‐0.1pHunitsonthepHtest).Aresultsignificantly

aboveorbelowthisrangemeansthepoolorspaisbeingtreated

basedoninaccurateinformation.Thetestkitorreagentsshould

bereplaced.
