Note!
Please note that during storage and
transportation, especially at high ambient
temperature, some of the oil and grease used for
assembling may leak and stain the packaging.
This is in no way detrimental to the product,
wipe off the excessive oil/grease with a cloth.
Warning!
Before installing this product, read the Öhlins
Owner’s Manual. The shock absorber is an
important part of your vehicle and will affect the
stability.

Warning!
Before riding, always make sure that the
basic settings made by Öhlins are according
to recommended Set-up Data. Read about
adjustments and setting up in the Öhlins
Owner’s Manual before you make any
adjustments. Contact an Öhlins dealer if you
have any questions about setting up the shock
absorber.

How to install How to install
Warning!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install the
Öhlins McPherson shock absorber.
When installing, consult your Vehicle Service
Manual.
Warning!
Make sure the vehicle is securely supported so
that it will not tip.

Raise the car so that the front wheels are off
the ground.

Remove the front wheels.

Loosen the bolts for the lower attachments.
Caution!
Support the wheel hubs in an appropriate
way on each side of the vehicle so that the
brake hose and/or drive shaft joint can not be
damaged.

Loosen the upper attachment from the top
mount, and remove the original McPherson
shock absorber.

Note correct reservoir bracket position.
If incorrect, correct by unscrewing the 8
screws, turn the bracket to correct position.
Reinstall the 8 screws and tighten to specied
torque according to gure 5.
Note!
Note that two screws are longer, make sure to
reinstall them in the correct position.

Install the Öhlins McPherson shock absorber
on to the top mount, and tighten the nut
00139-04 with torque 60 Nm. For top mount
arrangements - see gure 6.
Caution!
Make sure the reservoir is protected from
damages (e.g. stone ship).

Tightening torque 10 Nm (8x).
Use copper paste on the threads.

Lift up the wheel hub with a hydraulic jack
to remove any freeplay of the bolts before
tightening the bolts around the wheel upright.
Note!
Make sure that all bolts are tightened to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber when it is
being fully compressed or extended.
