Concepts
Understanding the following concepts may help you read through the manual.
User
A user is a user account that has been created in the database and
assigned one or more cards for accessing authorized sites.
Operator
An operator is a person using GV-Cloud Access Control to monitor
doors, enroll users and cards, or configure the settings. Operators
come in two types. Master operators have full access to GV-Cloud
Access Control functions and settings. Non-master operators can
only access Monitoring, User List, Access / Event Log, and Operator
Privileges of the specified Region / Access Rule.
Access Rule
An access rule is when a user can access a secure site during the
week and on holidays.
For details, see 4.3 Adding Access Rules.
Region Manager
A region manager is an non-master operator who oversees the
controllers and doors in a specific region. The region manager has full
privileges to read, write, and execute on all devices under his control.
For details, see 4.5 Adding Operators and Regions.
Door Alarm Status
The door alarm status is the alarms are activated when alarm
conditions are detected by sensors. GV-Cloud Access Control
supports 4 types of door alarm status from GV-AS Controller:
Force Open, Hold Open, Tamper, and Fire Alarm.
To enable the alarm devices on GV-AS Controller, go to the
Parameter Configuration page of its Web interface.
To enable the sensors on GV-AS Controller, go to the Input
Configuration page of its Web interface.
For GV-AS21xx / AS41xx series, see 8.2.2 Parameter
Configuration, 8.2.6 Input Configuration, GV-AS / GV-EV
Controller User’s Manual.
For GV-AS1620, see 3.2.2 Parameter Configuration, 3.2.4 Input
Configuration, GV-AS1620 Users Manual.
For GV-AS Controller, the Held Open alarm is generated when Held
Open Time expires, which begins to countdown when the door is
detected open.
For the GV-DFK1355 reader, the Held Open alarm is generated when
Held Open Time expires, which begins to countdown when the door
lock is engaged but the door remains open.
The Held Open Time setting is on the Edit Device dialog box; see
4.2.2 Enabling a Door.
