BeforeInstalling
This information is included as a quick reference installation
guide.Refertothecontrolpanelinstallationmanualfordetailed
systeminformation.Ifthemoduleswillbeinstalledinanexisting
operationalsystem,informtheoperatorandlocalauthoritythat
thesystemwillbetemporarilyoutofservice.Disconnectpower
tothecontrolpanelbeforeinstallingthemodules.

GeneralDescription
FCM-1SupervisedControlModulesareintendedforuseinintel-
ligent, two-wire systems, where the individual address of each
moduleisselectedusingthebuilt-inrotaryswitches.Thismodule
isusedtoswitchanexternalpower supply, whichcanbe aDC
powersupplyoranaudioamplifier(upto80VRMS),tonotifica-
tion appliances. It also supervises the wiring to the connected
loadsandreportstheirstatustothepanelasNORMAL,OPEN,or
SHORTCIRCUIT.TheFCM-1hastwopairsofoutputtermination
points available for fault-tolerant wiring and a panel-controlled
LEDindicator.ThismodulecanbeusedtoreplaceaCMX-2mod-
ulethathasbeenconfiguredforsupervisedwiringoperation.
CompatibilityRequirements
Toensureproperoperation,thismoduleshallbeconnectedtoa
compatibleNotifiersystemcontrolpanelsonly(listavailablefrom
Notifier).
Mounting
The FCM-1 mounts directly to 4 square electrical boxes (see
Figure2A).Theboxmusthaveaminimumdepthof21/8 .Surface
mountedelectricalboxes(SMB500)areavailable.
Wiring
NOTE: Allwiringmustconformtoapplicablelocalcodes,ordi-
nances, and regulations. When using control modules
in nonpower limited applications, the CB500 Module
Barrier must be used to meet UL requirements for the
separationofpower-limitedandnonpower-limitedtermi-
nals and wiring. The barrier must be inserted into a 4
x4 x21/8 junctionbox,andthecontrolmodulemustbe
placedintothebarrierandattachedtothejunctionbox
(Figure 2A). The power-limited wiring must be placed
intotheisolatedquadrantofthemodulebarrier(Figure
2B).

applications, remove Jumper (J1) and discard. The Jumper is
