Overview of the range
We strongly recommend you entrust
the installation of your Stûv furniture
to a qualified professional.
Significant heat may be radiated
through the stove’s glass door. Ensure
the drawer is closed when the stove
is in use.
Failure to observe the various
instructions invalidates the guarantee
for both the stove and the modular
bases.
Once the modular base(s) has/have
been installed, give these instructions
to the user and advise him/her to
return the guarantee certificate found
at the back of these instructions to
the manufacturer. The guarantee only
covers damage due to transport if it
is notified within 48 hours of delivery
and a complaint is made upon receipt.
Recommendations / General information
120 cm base with U-shaped drawer: designed
for the use of a Stûv 16-cube with a fan
and / or outside air inlet for combustion.
120 cm base with drawer: designed for the use
of a Stûv 16-cube without a fan and without
an outside air inlet for combustion.
Mobile log rack (for 25 to 50 cm logs).
60 cm base with drawer: designed for the use
of a Stûv 16/58-cube without a fan and/or an
outside air inlet for combustion.
Any modification made to the bases
may cause danger and will exclude
you from the cover of the guarantee.
Only use Stûv spare parts for repair.

Prohibited configurations
Various configurations are possible.
However, some configurations are
inadvisable or prohibited :
– Non-observance of the safety
distances :
– Stûv 16/58-cube + 60 cm base +
log rack [diagram 1].
– Positioning of a stove on the edge
of a base + installation of log rack
[diagram 2].
– Movement impossible (risk of
scratching the bases) :
– log rack between 2 modules
[diagram 3].
– Positioning of 2 log racks side-by-
side [diagram 4].
– Any configuration which does not
adhere to the points set out in the
previous pages.
Preparation of the area
Before beginning actual
installation :
– check and prepare the area where
your stove is to be installed (please
refer to the stove’s installation
instructions).
– If you have a "120 U" base, prepare
the combustion air intake duct (also
refer to the "combustion air intake"
section of your stove’s installation
instructions).

Moving packaged bases
– On pallet truck. The 60, 120 and
120U bases can be stacked in 4s.
Unpacking the bases
Bases with 60, 120 & 120 U
drawer :
– using a screwdriver, lever the box 3
centimetres off the bottom of the
pallet [photo 2];
– Remove the upper part of the
packaging (box and wooden planks)
[photo 3];
– remove the base from the pallet.
Keep the cardboard safety strap in
place.
Log rack :
– cut the straps around the cardboard
packaging [photo 4];
– remove the upper cardboard box
[photo 5];
– remove the anti-shock kit attached
to one of the bars [photo 6].
– By hand. The weight is greater on
the drawer side. Keep the safety
strap in place to prevent the drawers
from opening.

Preparation applicable to all bases
Decide upon the configuration of
the bases required [diagrams 1 & 2]
before beginning the installation of
the base (rack to the left or right,
order of the modules, outside air inlet,
air feed inlet, duct). We recommend
drawing an installation plan
beforehand.
Position the bases in their final
configuration [photo 3].
Base with drawer :
– remove the cardboard safety straps
[photo 4];
– remove the contents of the drawer
(keep the protective cardboard)
[photo 5 & 6];
– close the drawer leaving it about
10 cm open.
– remove the base from the lower
cardboard box lifting the bars
[photo 1];
– remove the safety strap and open
the drawer if necessary [photo 2].

The packaging of your 60 or 120
standard base contains :
– 1 set of installation instructions and

– 1 base;
– 1 module link unit + 2 screws

The packaging of your log rack

Preparation specific to each individual base (installation of several bases)
Using 2 hands, lift the drawer up and
continue to pull it towards you to
remove it completely [photos 1 & 2].
Put the runners back [photo 3].
Positioning of the link unit :
– Turn the fixed base onto its back
part (use the protective cardboard)
[photo 4];
– using the 2.5 key, fix the link unit
under the lateral panel and on the
side where you will position the
satellite base. Ensure the cover nuts
are facing upwards and that the unit
extends outwards [photo 5].
If you do not have a Stûv log rack,
put the base back onto its legs.
Otherwise, go to the next step.
Positioning of the anti-shock
rods :
Positioning of the fixed part of the
anti-shock rods :
Unpack the anti-shock kit included
with the log rack. The fixed part
[photo 6 B] is attached to the fixed
base and the other part is placed
on the log rack (see the “log rack”
section below).
– Turn the fixed base onto its back
part (use the protective cardboard)
Using the 2.5 key, attach the anti-
shock rail stopper to the fixed base
on the side receiving the mobile log
rack [photo 7]. Check the direction;
– put the base back on its legs.

Outside air intake for combustion (HABSOCU120 + Stûv 16-cube only)
The outside combustion air can be fed
in either through the back [diagram 1]
or underneath [diagram 2].
See the "outside air intake" section of
the Stûv 16-cube instructions.
– For air intake at the back, using the
size 8 spanner, remove the outside
air inlet cover [photo 3];
– insert the air intake duct into the
U-shaped base through the hole
[photo 4];
– using the clamp collar provided,
attach the flexible tube to your air
inlet duct [photo 5];
– using the clip, attach the flexible
pipe to the hole on the edge of the
inside left panel [photos 6 & 7];
– screw the feet onto your Stûv
16-cube support plate as far as the
stopper [photo 8];
– position the support plate on the
base and screw in the 2 screws
provided using the Allen key 2.5

Inserting the drawers
– Pull out the runners as far as
possible [photo 1];
– using 2 hands, put the drawer
back on its runners symmetrically
[photo 2];
– close the drawer [photo 3]. If it
jams slightly at the end of the run
(around 10 cm), the drawer has
not completely reached the back
of its runners. To ensure it does,
continue to push the drawer (always
symmetrically);
– if you notice a difference in the gap
between the left and right parts of
the drawer’s front face, check the
alignment of the drawers [photo 4].
Adjusting the parallelism of the
gap of the drawer’s front face :
2 possibilities :
– the parallel difference either
concerns the first base positioned
(next to a log rack or with a stove)
or a satellite base with a gap on the
fixed base side : Lower the corner
opposite the corner to be adjusted
(by screwing the leg) [diagram 5].
– The parallel difference concerns a
satellite base with a gap on the
free side (which does not/not yet
accommodate another base) : Lift
the corner to be adjusted (unscrew
the leg) [diagram 6].
Carry out all of these steps for every
base until your entire installation has
been adjusted.

Recommandations
The drawer should always be closed :
– when reloading the stove. This
prevents embers from falling into
the drawer [diagram 1];
– when the stove is in operation.
Heat radiated from the stove’s glass
door may damage the contents and
bottom of the drawer [diagram 2].
Do not keep inflammable products
or items in the drawer housing your
stove (spray paint, lighters, candles).
Immediately remove any embers that
fall onto your base (risk of damaging
the paintwork).
Stûv furniture is not a toy and is to be
used by adults in a responsible way
[diagram 4].
Over the course of time, the
environment where your installation
is located may cause the shade of the
paint to change. Please take account
of this for any later purchases.
Purchasing items all together is
recommended.
Do not force the runners [diagram 5],
do not handle the base / log rack using
the drawer.

Opening / closing of the drawers
Moving and loading the log rack
To avoid forcing the runners (in
particular for the 120 cm wide
models), open and close the drawers
symmetrically [photo 1 and 2].
Only the back castors of the log rack
swivel.
Ensure the drawer is closed properly
before moving the rack.
– To move the rack from its position,
take hold of the bars with 2 hands
[photo 2];
– Fill it up with the logs required.
Position the first logs so that they
rest on the crosspieces at the bottom
of the rack (25 to 50 cm logs).
Once loaded, the rack is heavy (do
not exceed the maximum load of
80 kg). Ensure the rack does not tip
over in awkward areas (joins in tiling,
sills).
Putting the rack back in its original
position.
Approach the front of the fixed base.
– Wheel the rack, positioning it on the
side of the fixed base [photo 3];
– having reached the level of the bar,
make a gap by swivelling the rack
[photo 3];
– when abutting, push the log rack
right to the back [photo 4].

Maintenance
Serial number
Use a standard non-abrasive
household detergent to clean the
surfaces and the inside of the drawers.
Never use solvents (acetone, white
spirit).
Marks left by indelible markers cannot
be removed.
Clean the log rack’s stainless steel
bars using a product such as those for
stainless steel household appliances.
Never grease the runners.
Removing the drawer
– Open it by around 10 cm [photo 1];
– using 2 hands, lift the drawer up
and continue to pull it towards you
to remove it completely [photo 2].
Inserting the drawer
– Pull out the runners as far as
possible [photo 3];
– using 2 hands, put the drawer
back on its runners symmetrically
[photo 4];
– close the drawer [photo 5]. If it
jams slightly at the end of the run
(around 10 cm), the drawer has
not completely reached the back of
its runners. Continue pushing the
drawer symmetrically [photo 6].
The serial numbers for the 60, 120
and 120 U bases are found on the
bottom of the bases on the right-hand
side. Remove the drawer to read it
[photo 1].
The serial number of the log rack is
found underneath it. After removing
the logs, tip the rack on its back
making sure you put down a piece of
protective cardboard.
