The Free The Tone TRI AVATAR TA-2H is a multi-dimensional chorus pedal that provides lush, organic, and spatial chorus sounds. With its advanced HTS (Holistic Tonal Solution) circuit, it retains the original sound and nuances of your guitar when the effect is engaged. It features controls for adjusting the depth, rate, and tone of the chorus effect. The pedal also has three modes: Manual, Preset, and Expression Pedal. You can store up to 4 of your favorite chorus settings for easy recall. Additionally, you can control the pedal's parameters in real-time using an expression pedal.

Turns on/off the chorus effect.

When on, the LED above the

switch illuminates.

ON/OFF Switch

In Preset mode:

Switches presets 1–4 cyclically, i.e.,

PRESET-1 PRESET-2 PRESET-3 PRESET-4

In Edit mode (EDIT LED illuminating):

Selects the preset number to save the

current chorus sound settings. The LED

for the selected preset number flashes.

In Manual mode:

Selects the preset to be recalled when

the TRI AVATAR is switched to Preset

mode.

PRESET Switch

Used to put the TRI AVATAR in

Edit mode.

EDIT Switch

Used to toggle between

Manual and Preset modes.

MODE Switch

Adjusts the mix balance between

the effect and direct (dry) sounds

when the effect is turned on.

DRY MIX Knob

Adjusts the pitch vibration

speed. Turning the knob

clockwise increases the

vibration speed.

RATE Knob

Adjusts the chorus sound’s timber.

Turning the knob clockwise cuts the

low frequencies and turning it

counterclockwise cuts the high

frequencies. This control is not

applied to original (dry) sounds.

TONE Knob

Adjusts the pitch vibration depth of

the RIGHT signal. The signal appears

at the OUT-R terminal. In monaural

operation, the signal appears at the

OUT-L (MONO) terminal.

DEPTH RIGHT Knob

Adjusts the pitch vibration depth

of the CENTER signal. This signal

appears at both the L and R

outputs. In monaural operation,

the signal appears at the OUT-L

(MONO) terminal.

DEPTH CENTER Knob

Adjusts the pitch vibration

depth of the LEFT signal.

The signal appears at the OUT-L

(MONO) terminal.

DEPTH LEFT Knob

Adjusts the volume level when

the effect is turned on.

LEVEL Knob

Used to connect

your guitar or

effects unit, etc.

This terminal has

the HTS circuit

that keeps sound

texture the same

when the effect is

turned on and off.

INPUT Terminal

Receives MIDI signals from an external MIDI

device.

MIDI IN Termina

Used to connect

an expression

pedal having

ariable resistance

10kΩ–25kΩ.

EXP Terminal

In Stereo operation:

Outputs the signal set by the DEPTH LEFT

and DEPTH CENTER knobs.

In Monaural operation:

Outputs the signal set by the DEPTH LEFT,

DEPTH CENTER, and DEPTH RIGHT knobs.

OUTPUT-R Terminal:

Outputs the signal

set by the DEPTH

RIGHT and DEPTH

CENTER knobs.

OUTPUT( L(MONO)-OUT-R) Terminal

DC 9V IN Terminal

For connecting an AC adapter with

9V DC center

negativepolarity.

Requires at least

150mA of available
