Installing the rapid blow down cap for the 9203044 tank
1. Place the standard transmission in neutral or the automatic transmission in park
and fully apply the park brake.
2. If the system has been operated, allow at least 10 minutes so that all air pressure
can vent.
3. Clean loose debris from the area around the rear end of the air/oil tank to prevent
contamination.
4. Remove the discharge air hose and fittings from the tank, (figure 1).
5. Remove the pressure control and scavenge line from the rear end cap of the
system air/oil tank. Move the hoses, (carefully to avoid twisting the lines out of
the way, (figure 1).
6. Remove the six (6) flange bolts retaining the tank end cap housing at the rear of
the tank. Care should be taken when removing the six flange bolts completely out
as the coalescing element is spring loaded against the inside of the end cap,
(figure 2).

7. Remove the rear end cap from the tank.
8. Remove the sealing O-ring on the face of the tank, (figure 3).

9. Wipe the sealing face of the tank and install the new O-ring.
10. Install the new rapid blow down cap on the rear of the tank by pushing against the
spring.
11. Ensure that the arrow on the cap is pointing up. Align the holes on the housing in
the tank and install the six 3/8 inch flange lock bolts. Torque the fasteners to 47
ft-lbs, (figure 4).
12. Reattach the ¼ inch pressure control and 5/16 inch scavenge steel lines to the end
cap and tighten.
13. Reinstall the discharge air hose fittings, reconnect the hose and tighten.
14. Start the engine and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
15. Turn the compressor switch on the control unit to the “ON” position.
16. Allow the system to pressurize and return to preset base idle speed.
17. Turn the compressor switch on the control unit to the “OFF” position.
18. Allow the system to blow down. Ensure that all pressure has discharged from the
system.
