Installation Introduction
PresenterWall installation is probably different than the installation of most application
software you have had experience with in the past. The software is an addition to the op-
erating system and the installation process must be done correctly to ensure proper opera-
tion of the product. Although we have tried to make the installation as simple as possible,
the variations in computer systems may make your installation unique and therefore you
may require assistance. Please follow these instructions step by step and you should have
no problems with PresenterWall.
Preparing for Installation
Please verify the items listed below. This will help ensure proper installation of
PresenterWall hardware and software.
Make sure that you select your PCI-E video card as your primary display in
the BIOS of your mainboard.
Install and register Windows® XP pro with SP2 or SP3 and all applications
that you will run on this PC.
Make sure that all resident programs, such as anti-virus programs, screen
savers and other system utilities are disabled or turned off. This step is very
important, as these programs could interfere with the proper installation of
PresenterWall. You can re-enable these applications after the installation is
completed.
Make sure that any applications that execute automatically when the system
is powered on or restarted are disabled or turned off while installing Pre
senter Wall. Many of these applications can be temporarily disabled by us
ing the Microsoft Conguration Utility (“run mscong.exe”) and updating
the appropriate descriptive lines.

Installation Diagram
Installing the PresenterWall hardware
The PresenterWall hardware consists of a PCI card and four HDMI to VGA
adaptors. The extended monitors will be connected to the HDMI to VGA adap-
tor which is plugged into the U4 PCI card . First be sure to use an AGP or PCI-e
as your primary graphics video card. The supplied four-
port PresenterWall video card will utilize the available
PCI slot on your motherboard.
Step 1.
Restart your PC so that any pending installations of other
products or updates are fully completed.
(Start → Turn Off Computer → Restart)
Make sure that your system starts up and is running normally.
Step 2.
Shut down the computer. (Start→Turn Off Computer→Turn Off) After shut-
down, make sure you also unplug the power cord from the computer or from
the electrical outlet. Remove the computer cover and locate the PCI slots on
the large circuit board. Most computers have several PCI slots. At the end of an
unused PCI slot, locate its chrome ller plate. Lift the latch (or unscrew and save
the set-screw) that is retaining the chrome
ller plate.
Note: Some older computers will also have
ISA slots (those are the longer slots), which
will not be used for PresenterWall .
Step 3.
Ground yourself briey by touching
something metallic (such as the computer
chassis) with your ngers and then remove the PresenterWall U4 PCI board
from its shielded plastic envelope.
Step 4.
Install the PCI card in the selected PCI slot by rmly applying pressure along
the top of the board until it slides into place (fully seated and level). Press the
latch (or reinstall the set-screw) to secure the PCI card’s chrome bracket into
place. Check that all other PCI boards have not been accidentally lifted out of
their slots.
Step 5.
Place the computer cover back to ensure proper airow within the case.
Step 6.
Plug each monitor to the PCI card using the HDMI to VGA adaptor.
Make sure that all monitors are connected and powered on.
Once you click “Save” you will see “Created user ‘Administrator’:
When the installation has been completed you will be asked to enter the User
name & Password. Enter ‘administrator as the user name and leave the pass-
word line empty and check mark the “Save password” box. You can later create
your own username and password for security.
This completes the Hardware and Software installation of the PresenterWall.

Step 7.
Turn on your computer. Upon startup your computer will automatically recog-
nize that the new hardware is present and will prompt you to install the appro-
priate video driver:
Select ‘No, not this time’ and hit ‘Next’. On the next screen select ‘Install from
a list or specic location (Advanced)’:
On the next screen select ‘Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install’:
On the following screen select ‘Display adapters’ (image on next page)
Installing the PresenterWall software
First insert the USB key into any available USB slot. Upon in-
serting the USB key, Windows will automatically detect a new hardware
device:
Ignore this window and do not hit ‘Cancel’. Leave it as is; during the
installation our software will automatically install the necessary drivers
for the USB key.
Launch the ‘PresenterWall’ setup exe” le and follow the instructions. In
the beginning of the setup you will be ask to choose the components to
install. Choose all three ‘PresenterWall Client’, PresenterWall Server and
‘HTML editor’.
After selecting ‘Next’ follow the instructions and you will soon be asked
to enter a ‘User name’ and ‘Password’. Do not enter anything here as you
can set a username and password later. Just hit ‘Save’:
52
On the next screen select ‘Have disk…’:
On the next screen select ‘Browse…’ and select to open your CD drive to open
the RageXL folder:
Within the RageXL folder you will see a le called ‘ATIIXPAD.INF’,
select that and click on ‘Open’:
Once that has been selected, hit ‘OK’ to install. Windows device manager will
recognize four video cards. You will have to repeat the installation process four
times (one for each port). Once all four drivers have been installed reboot your
PC. Upon restart Windows® should now recognize four screens in your display
properties. Be sure to Enable all four monitors giving you a total of ve moni-
tors (four for the video wall, and 1 as your primary desktop) :
