Ask an adult to help you install batteries. Here’s how:
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver (not included) remove the screw on the battery compartment door.
2. Push in slightly on the battery compartment door (see illustration) and pull down.
3. Install one 1.5V AAA battery (not included) with the positive (+) end facing out towards the
door.
4. Replace the battery compartment door when finished and tighten the screw.

and your computer.
MODE switch lets you skip forward or backward to find a particular track quickly.
Built-in digital voice recorder with microphone.
Built-in 6-mode equalizer.
Repeat play mode.

1. Make sure your PC supports USB devices.
2. Gently remove the USB port cover (see illustration).
3. Connect the Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player directly to the USB port on your computer. The Yaz
Lipstick MP3 player should appear as a removable drive in ‘My Computer.’
TO DISCONNECT FROM WINDOWS ME/2000/XP/VISTA OPERATING SYSTEM:
Double click the ”Safely Remove Hardware” icon on the right bottom of the task bar.
Select ”USB Mass Storage Device” and click “Stop”.
Click “Enter”, and you can safely disconnect the USB cable from the Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player.
In order to operate and transfer songs to your Yaz Lipstick MP3 player, you will need to
use a home computer that meets the following system requirements:
Compatible with Microsoft® Windows® ME, 2000, XP or VISTA
Pentium III 800 MHz MMX or equivalent processor
128MB RAM (256M recommended)
Standard mouse and keyboard
USB port
If your computer meets these requirements:
Insert the device directly into your computer’s USB port.
A “Removable Disk” will appear on “My Computer”.

IMPORTING WMA or MP3 FILES:
Your Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player comes with a built-in USB port to make loading and arranging
digital music files easy. To import digital music files into your Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player, drag &
drop MP3 and WMA files stored on your computer's hard drive. To do this: Highlight the MP3 or
WMA selections you want to copy onto the MP3 player and use the mouse to drag and drop
them onto the Bratz™ MP3 drive.
USING YOUR YAZ LIPSTICK MP3 PLAYER:
1. Turn the unit ON by pressing and holding the PLAY/PAUSE button.
2. Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin or stop playback.
3. To turn the unit OFF press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button for two seconds.
MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY:
The LCD screen features information to make using your Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player easier and
more enjoyable. You’ll find:
The SCROLLING TITLE DISPLAY shows the title of the track currently being played.
The BATTERY INDICATOR appears in the upper right corner as a series of black bars which
decrease as the battery power is used.
The TRACK INDICATOR is visible under the scrolling title display. The first number identifies
the current track being played. The second number recaps the total number of tracks
stored in memory.
The ELAPSED TIME INDICATOR, in the lower right-hand corner of the display, provides a
running tally (in minutes and seconds) of the length of the track being played.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS:
Press and hold the MODE button to access settings and features. Pressing the MODE button
once will highlight the following sub-menus:
PLAY MUSIC Music playback mode. Move the MODE button to the right to highlight
VOICE playback mode.
VOICE FILES Voice playback mode. Press MODE button down until you see the voice
recording you wish to play. Use the PLAY/PAUSE button to start and
stop playback. When finished, press and hold the MODE button to
exit the Voice Playback mode.
RECORDER Record menu. Press the MODE button down to begin recording.
Elapsed recording time will be visible in the display. Press the MODE
button down again to stop recording. Press and hold the MODE button
to exit the Recorder mode.

SETTINGS:
Enter preset equalizer menu and other settings. Move the MODE button to the right to highlight
the following sub-menus:
Equalizer This menu lets you control tonal output. Move the MODE button to the right
to highlight NORMAL. Move the MODE button again to highlight Pop. Move
again for Rock. Move again to highlight Classical. Move again for Jazz. Once
you've selected your listening preference, press the MODE button down
to confirm and return to the SETTINGS menu. Move the MODE button to the
right to highlight the Repeat Mode menu.
Repeat Mode Press the MODE button down to access the REPEAT MODE menu. Here you
can adjust how the Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player will function in the play mode.
Move the MODE button to the right once for NORMAL playback.
Move the MODE button to the right again to repeat the current selection. Move
the MODE button again to repeat all selections in memory. Move the MODE
button to the right again to play all tracks in random sequence. Once you have
displayed your preferred Play Mode setting, press the MODE button down
to confirm and return to the SETTINGS menu. Move the MODE button to
the right to highlight Contrast menu.
Contrast Move the MODE button to the right or left to adjust the display's contrast level.
When finished, press the MODE button down to confirm. Move the MODE
button to the right to highlight Backlight menu.
Backlight Press the MODE button down to access the BACKLIGHT menu. Move the
MODE button to the left or right to select how long the backlight display remains
active after a button has been pressed. There are 4 selections: Always off,
5 sec., 10 sec., and Always on. NOTE: Using longer backlight display will
use more battery power. Press the MODE button down to return to the
SETTINGS menu.
Power Set Press the MODE button down to access POWER SET mode. Move
the MODE button to the left or the right to turn the unit off automatically after
2-minutes or 10-minutes or 30 minutes of inactivity. Once you have made
your selection, press the MODE button down to return to the SETTINGS menu.
Move the MODE button to the right to highlight the RECORD SET menu.
Record Set This menu displays several Bit Rate settings for voice recording. The sound
quality depends on the Bit Rate selection. When finished, press the MODE
button down to return to the SETTINGS menu.
Language The Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player menus can be displayed in a variety of different
languages. Press the MODE button down to access the LANGUAGE options.
Then move the MODE button to the right to scroll through your options. Once
you find your preferred display language, press the MODE button down to
confirm. Move the MODE button to the right to exit the SETTINGS menu.
Storage Move the MODE button to the right again to highlight the STORAGE menu
where you can find information regarding total internal memory, free memory
and firmware version. Press the MODE button down to return to the MAIN menu.
MODE SWITCH:
When you are not in a menu screen, move the MODE button to the left or the right to skip to the
beginning of the next track or return to the beginning of the song in play. Moving the MODE
button repeatedly can help to quickly find the beginning of any selection in memory. The TRACK
INDICATOR will change each time the MODE button is pressed.
VOLUME:
Press the plus (+) or minus (-) button to raise or lower the volume. As the volume is adjusted, a
bar graph display will appear on screen to show the loudness level (from minimum to maximum).
HOLD:
This sliding switch helps prevent accidental mishaps while you and your Yaz Lipstick MP3 Player
are in motion. Slide it to the right to activate. With HOLD activated, the player will continue to
function, but the volume cannot be adjusted and power cannot be turned off. Deselect HOLD
(slide the switch to the left) to unlock the player and make desired adjustments.
BELT CLIP:
This spring-activated clip provides a safe, secure way to attach the player to a belt or pocket for
more convenient on-the-go listening.

Use alkaline batteries for best performance and longer life.
Use only the type battery recommended for the unit.
Batteries should be replaced only by an adult.
Insert batteries with the correct polarity ( + and – ).
Do not mix different types of batteries or old and new batteries.
Do not short-circuit batteries.
When not used for an extended time, remove batteries to prevent possible
leakage and damage to the unit.
Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before charging.
Rechargeable batteries are to be recharged only under adult supervision

Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may leak or explode.
Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
NOTE: The voltage of a fully-charged, rechargeable battery is often lower than that of a fresh
alkaline battery. Therefore, it is recommended that alkaline batteries be used instead of
rechargeable batteries for best performance and for longest play time.

1. Clean outside of unit with a damp cloth only.
2. Do Not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.
3. Do Not use this product near water or moisture of any kind.
4. Do Not subject this product to extreme heat or cold.
5. Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise. Prolonged listening to the MP3 Player at
full volume can damage your hearing!
6. Maximum output voltage ≤ 150mV.
WARNING: To avoid electrical shock, never attempt to break or open the player and touch
the electrical component while it is charged. No user serviceable parts are inside.
PROBLEM
The power turns off and
pressing the “Play/Pause”
