GV-AI Assistant

With GV-AI Assistant mobile app, you can create face IDs for GV-AI Server, as well as

receiving push notifications, viewing live recognition events and querying event logs of GV-AI

Server. GV-AI Assistant allows you to manage more than one GV-AI Server simultaneously.

1. Installing GV-AI Assistant

You can download GV-AI Assistant app from the App Store or Google Play and install the

application. Tap the GV-AI Assistant icon in your app list. The main page of GV-AI Assistant

app appears. The following instructions are illustrated using iPad.

2. Main Functions of GV-AI Assistant

From the Main Page of GV-AI Assistant app, tap Options Menu at the left upper corner to

access its Main Functions.

3. Connecting to GV-AI Server

In the Host Management section of GV-AI Assistant app, you can connect to more than one

GV-AI Server of your choice. To connect to GV-AI Server, follow the steps below.

1. Tap Options Menu

> Host Management (No. 1, 2. Main Function of GV-AI

Assistant). The Host Management page appears.

2. Tap Add at the upper right corner. This page appears.

3. Type the IP, Port, Account, and Password of the GV-AI Server for connection manually.

Alternatively, tap Search to search for and select a GV-AI Server within the same

LAN.

4. Once the GV-AI Server is connected, tap Save

Note:

1. Once connected to a GV-AI Server, the server will be indicated on the Host

Management page with a yellow label “Master” or “Slave” as configured on the GV-AI

Server. The GV-AI Server configured as “Standalone” will be shown without a label.

2. Only “Master” and “Standalone” GV-AI Server can be configured through GV-AI

Assistant app. For details, see 4.1.7 Master / Slave Sync in GV-AI Server User’s

Manual.

4. Registering Face IDs to GV-AI Server

In the Register Face section of GV-AI Assistant app, you can register face IDs and later

upload them to more than one GV-AI Server.

4.1 Registering a Face ID

To register a face ID, follow the steps below.

1. Tap Options Menu

> Register Face (No. 2, 2. Main Function of GV-AI Assistant).

2. Tap the

icon on the Register Face page.

3. Type Face Name, select a Group, and optionally type Note 1 and Note 2.

4. Tap the icon and select Take a picture to take a snapshot or From photo library to

use an existing photo on your device.

5. Tap Save

Note: When taking a snapshot, align the face in the frame until the vectors turn green,

indicating a qualified photo. Tap Information

to see suggestions on taking the qualified

snapshots.

4.2 Uploading Face IDs to GV-AI Server

Once face IDs are registered on GV-AI Assistant app, you can upload them to more than one

GV-AI Server. To upload registered face IDs to a connected GV-AI Server, follow the steps

below.

1. On the Register Face page (No. 2, 2. Main Function of GV-AI Assistant), tap Upload

2. Select one server to upload face IDs.

3. Select up to 10 face IDs to upload and tap Save

4. Tap Confirm in the Upload Results prompt. The Upload Result page appears.

5. Tap Save

and OK to exit the page.

6. Repeat the steps above to upload face IDs to another GV-AI Server.

Note:

1. Once the face IDs are uploaded, the names of GV-AI Servers possessing these face IDs

will be indicated under Face IDs.

2. Alternatively, you can also upload registered face IDs to GV-AI Server

through the

Members function. For details, see 5. Managing GV-AI Server.

5. Managing GV-AI Server

You can manage the face data and retail store events of a specified GV-AI Server through the

following functions: Live Event, Members, and Query Event.

Tap Options Menu

> Host Management and select one connected GV-AI Server.

5.1 Viewing Live Events

In the Live Event section (No. 1, 5. Managing GV-AI Server), users can view the live

face events captured by the cameras of the GV-AI Server selected.

5.2 Managing Face Database

In the Members section

(No. 2, 6. Managing GV-AI Server), you can upload registered

face IDs to the GV-AI Server selected or create new face IDs to upload.

5.2.1 Uploading Registered Face IDs

To upload registered face IDs to the selected GV-AI Server, follow the steps below.

1. On the Members page, tap Add

at the upper right corner.

2. Select Enroll new face to create a new face ID (see 4.1 Registering a Face ID), or

Upload from Register Face to upload a face ID already registered on the GV-AI

Assistant app.

5.2.2 Editing and Removing Face IDs

To edit a face ID registered on the GV-AI Assistant app, tap the face ID on the Members page

to access its Face Info page.

To remove a face ID registered on the GV-AI Assistant app, tap Edit at the upper right

corner on the Members page. Select the desired face IDs and tap Delete

5.3 Searching for Face Events

In the Query Event section (No. 3, 5. Managing a GV-AI Server), you can search for

face events of the GV-AI Server selected, using criteria such as date, time, name and more.

From the search results, you can save the face images found to your device or create a new

face ID. To do so, follow the steps below.

1. On the Query Event page, type specific information of From, To, Camera, Group,

Name, Note1, or Note2.

2. Tap Search

3. To save a face image to your mobile phone, tap an event and tap the icon under

Save Photo to Device. If the event selected is of an unknown face, the

icon will

appear on the Face Info page. Follow steps in 5.1 Registering a Face ID to create a new

face ID.

6. Notifications from GV-AI Server

The Notification page displays the push notifications of real-time events received from

connected GV-AI Server. To access, tap Options Menu

To manage the messages displayed on GV-AI Assistant app, set up the corresponding trigger

function on a GV-AI Server (Dashboard > Notify Settings > Event Trigger > New Trigger >

select a desired Event Type > select GV-AI Server App under Trigger Output, and desired

messages under Message Variables). See details in 4.2.2 Event Triggers in GV-AI Server

User’s Manual.

Note: To receive push notifications, make sure the notifications from GV-AI Assistant app are

allowed by the system settings of your mobile device.
