RRFAF 1000х500/24 - automatic air flow control damper with emergency function and the blades made
of aluminium profile, suitable for installation into the air ducts 1000х500 mm, with the actuator voltage 24 V.

This manual combines operation manual, technical data, installation and servicing guide
for air flow control dampers, further referred as RRVA /RRVAF models.
RRVA and RRVAF models are designed for air flow control and automatic shutoff.
Electric actuator ensures the blades opening or closing.
RRVAF is equipped with the emergency electric actuator. In case of the electric power
cutoff it ensures full the ventilation shaft shutoff. That is why RRVAF is recommended for
use as a component of freezing and smoke protection system.
The air flow control dampers are designed for transporting of air or non-explosive gas
mixtures with the operating temperature ranging from -30°C up to +50°C.

Follow all the recommendations set forth in this manual while mounting and operating
RRVA/RRVAF device as well as all the applicable local and national building and
electrical norms and standards.
Ingress protection rating of the actuator IP54.
Before connecting the unit to power supply network, please make sure that the unit is free
of any visible damages. RRVA and RRVAF units are the electric units and require
observance of the electrical safety requirements.
Only the qualified electricians authorized for independent electrical works on the
electrical installations with the voltage up to 1000 V are allowed for servicing and
mounting after reading this manual.

All mounting, servicing and connection works are allowed after the unit disconnection
from power supply network.
Do not use RRVA and RRVAF for operation in the explosive air mixture and in the
environment containing aggressive admixtures.

RRVA and RRVAF air flow control dampers are installed in the rectangular air ducts.
The transferred through the duct medium shall be air or non-explosive air mixtures in
case their aggressivity to ordinary carbon steel is the same as the air aggresivity.
Content of sticky substances, fibrous and abrasive materials in the transported medium
is not allowed. The bushing, pin and gear are made of plastic.
RRVA, RRVAF units (fig. 1) consist of the metal casing 2 with the blades set 1 inside.
The blades are closed toward each other.
RRVA, RRVAF units regulate the air volume supply in the ventilation system through the
gear actuator.
To regulate the air flow control dampers in the ventilation and air conditioning system the
electric actuator 8 is installed at the casing end which is installed directly on the axis 5
by means of the fastening clamp.
The actuator type is selected for each air flow control damper according to the table 1.
The actuator is equipped with a special locking device to prevent its turning.
LM230F and NM230A actuators are equipped with self-resetting button. It provides
mechanical control of RRVA unit as required. Pressing the button ungears the gear
reduction unit.
LF230, AF230-S, LF24-SR actuators are equipped with the return spring which returns
to the operating position synchronously with the air flow control damper turning. In case
of power supply cutoff the blades of RRVAF air flow control damper reset to the previous
position by the return spring.
AF230-S actuator is equipped with both fixed and variable switches.
They allow angle of rotation 5° over the range 25°... 85° respectively.
The feedback voltage 2…10V of the actuator LF24-SR provides indication of the shutter
position over the range of 0…100% and can serve as a control signal for other actuators.
The rotating angle can be regulated by mechanical end stops that have reliable operation.
The actuator has overload protection and requires no limit switches.
The unit shuts automatically off at the end stops.

For AF230(-S): The minimum distance between the dead contacts of the switch shall be 3 mm.
Several wires can be connected in parallel considering the power.
Several control circuit options are available, in compliance with the programmable actuator settings.

The delivery set comprises:
air flow control damper with electric drive - 1 pce;
user's manual
packing box - 1 pce.
Store RRVA, RRVAF in a ventilated closed premise in the original manufacturer's
packaging at the temperature between -40°C and +80°C and relative humidity 80%
at the temperature +25°C (at T=25°C).
Content of corrosion-provoking and insulation deforming vapours and admixtures in the
air is not allowed.
Use any vehicle types to transport the heater provided that it is protected against
mechanical and weather damage.
Avoid any mechanical shocks and strokes during handling operations.
MANUFACTURER'S
WARRANTY
Manufacturer hereby guarantees normal performance of RRVA, RRVAF units within
two years since the date of its sale in accordance to the rules of transportation, storage,
assembling and operation.
In case of no confirmation of sales date the warranty period is calculated from the
production date.
Any authorized modifications in the wiring diagram result in loss of warranty of the device.
The warranty repair is valid only in case of submission the user's manual and the
warranty certificate with the name of the trade company. Both warranty and post-warranty
repairs of RRVA/RRVAF devices are performed at the manufacturing facility.
