The manuals (three books) of this copier describe the functions, operating methods, and notes on
usage of the CS 110/115.
Before operating the CS 110/115, please carefully read these manuals to gain a clear understand-

Interrupt
Using the Control Panel Keys
When the key is pressed, the Interrupt mode is activated. Press this key to stop
the current copy job and begin another copy job.
The following modes and settings can be specified in the Interrupt mode:
· Copy quantity · Preset Zoom · Center shift
· Original Type · Zoom · One Touch Color
· Copy Exposure Adjustment · Auto Zoom · Color Balance
· Paper Selection · XY Zoom · Image Quality Adjustment
· ACS/Full Color/Black · Zoom Program · Sharpness
· Original Size Recognition · Entire Image
The Interrupt mode cannot be selected during a Composition copy job. Also the Interrupt mode
cannot be selected during another interrupted copy, recovering, or Auto Start copy job.
When Placing an Original on the Platen Glass

When the current copy job has stopped, the message
"Ready to perform interrupt job." appears on the Touch
Panel Display. The blinking
key indicator is retained
ON (Interrupt mode).
If a department ID and/or a user
ID are already registered, the
screen appears to prompt you to
enter the registered ID number.
Enter the correct department ID
number and user ID number. For
details, see "Entering the
Department ID Number and User
ID Number," on p. 2-4.
To cancel the interrupt copy
during setting, press the
key.

Remove the original for the
current copy job from the platen
glass.

Place the original for the interrupt
copy job on the platen glass.

Program the necessary copy
settings.

Press the (Start) key.
During the interrupt copy job, the message "Performing
interrupt job." appears on the Touch Panel Display.

When the interrupt copy is
completed, press the [No] key.
You cannot resume the previous copy job without
canceling the Interrupt mode. Upon completion of the
interrupt copy job, be sure to press the
key to cancel
the Interrupt mode.

Remove the original for the
interrupt copy job from the platen
glass.

Place the previous original on the
platen glass.

Press the (Start) key.
The copier resumes the interrupted copy job.
If you are copying from the platen
glass, temporarily remove the
original from the platen glass. If
you are copying from the original
tray of the optional Feeder,
perform the interrupt copy job
without removing the originals on
the tray. If you remove the
originals from the original tray,
the previous copy job cannot be
continued after the Interrupt
mode is canceled.
Interrupt
Step 8 applies if you were
continuously making copies from
the platen glass.
To make another interrupt copy,
press the [Yes] key.

The standard display of the Touch Panel shows the items below. The screen required for the
current copy mode setting is displayed while the copy settings are being programmed.

Message display
The following types of messages and keys are displayed on the Touch Panel Display.
· Messages and keys needed to make the copy settings
· Messages concerning maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Messages of the self-diagnostic display function and the countermeasure explanation
if the copier is not functioning properly
· Guide screen that explains the current copy settings
Setting Confirmation key
Displayed only when the current copy settings differ from the standard copy settings. Press to
display the setting confirmation window.
Copy ratio display
Displays the current copy ratio setting.
Paper feed location indication
Displays the currently selected paper feed location.
Paper size display
Indicates the paper size of the currently selected paper feed location.
Paper supply indicator
Indicates the remaining amount of copy paper in the currently selected drawer. There are four
types of indications.
(The percentage in parenthesis shows only the estimation.)

(Approx. 50 to 10%)
(Approx. 10% or less)

The remaining amount of copy paper in the optional Paper Deck-E1 is indicated as follows:

Paper type indicator
Indicates the material and orientation of copy paper.
Copy quantity indicator
Displays the setting for the number of copies to be made.
Direct key
Press to set the copy ratio to direct (100%).
Copy Ratio key
Use to set a copy ratio in units of % or make the settings for the XY Zoom, Zoom Program, or
Multi-page Enlargement function.

Paper Select key
Press to select the paper feed drawer.
Copy exposure keys
Use to adjust the copy exposure. Press the Auto key to automatically set the best copy exposure
for an original to be copied.
Two-Sided Mode key (CS 115 only)
Displayed only on the CS 115. Press to select the type of two-sided copy mode.
Original type key
Press to select the type of original.
Sorter key (option)
Displayed only when the optional Stapler Sorter-F1 is installed. Press to select the type of sorting.
Projector key (option)
Displayed only when the optional Film Projector-D1 is installed. Press to select the film type, film
orientation, and other settings.
In the explanation of the functions and operation described in this manual, the Touch Panel
Display is sometimes referred to as the "screen."

Common Keys on the Touch Panel Display
The Touch Panel Display has the following common function keys:
[Cancel] key: Closes the current setting screen and retains the programmed copy settings
during Additional Functions mode.
[Next] key: Fixes the copy settings made and proceeds to the next step.
[Back] key: Returns to the previous step with the current settings retained.
[Done] key: Closes the current screen.
[OK] key: Finalizes the copy settings being made.
Display of keys
If a key displayed on the screen is pressed (touched), the key is highlighted and the
corresponding mode or function is set.
Some keys are not highlighted, depending on the nature of the key. A key that is highlighted
indicates that the corresponding mode or function is set.
Inoperative keys
Some keys cannot be used when the functions are combined in certain ways; the keys are
grayed out and cannot be used in this case.
On CS 110/115, the keys of the functions unavailable in combination with the previously
selected function are grayed out.
Optional keys
Keys that require optional equipment are displayed only if the corresponding optional
equipment is installed in the copier.

Standard Copy Settings
When the power switch of the copier is turned On, the screen with the standard copy settings
appears on the Touch Panel Display. The screen with the standard copy settings is called the
standard display in this manual. The default standard copy settings have the following
contents:
Copy ratio: 100%
Paper selection: Auto Paper Selection
Copy quantity: 1
Copy exposure: Center value
Original type: Text/Printed Image
ACS (Auto Color Selection): On
Original Recognition: On
Center Shift: On
The default contents of the standard copy settings can be changed in the Additional Functions
mode. For details on how to make such changes, see "Standard Settings Change," on p. 13-35.

About the Editor
Editor-F1
With the optional Editor-F1 (hereinafter called Editor), it is easy to make area
designations, shift position designations, and color selections using the color
palette.

Notes on Using the Editor
Do not use the Editor near strong magnetic fields (cordless telephone, etc.).
Do not pull hard on the edit pen cord.
Do not use the edit pen with the tip near the cord.
Do not touch the tip of the edit pen to prevent incorrect entry.
Do not press hard on the mode setting screen.
Do not use the Editor with a conductor (such as a metal ruler, etc.) lying on the mode setting
screen.
If the edit pen is used to designate a position that has been heavily shaded with a pencil,
accurate area designation may be difficult.
For connections of the Editor and the copier main unit, consult with your service representative.
In particular, if the Editor connector is disconnected while the copier switch is ON, the copier
main unit may be damaged. Care must be taken.
