CAMERA LIGHTING RECOMMENDATIONS
The cameras abilit y to de tect your childs bo dy movem e n t s dep ends up on there being
a significant difference in lig hting between your child and the background.
Follow these helpful hints:
Ma ke sure your central source of lig ht is coming from the fro n t , pointing towards
yo u r child, not towards the camera or TV scre e n .
If your childs on-screen image looks too dark, sw itch on all available lighting in
the room and point it towards your child.
If your childs on-screen image looks too bright, close any curtains and use
art i f i c i a l l i g ht instead.
Where artificial lig ht is the primar y source of illumination, concent r ate a l l
av a i l a b l e l i g ht on your child.
If p o s s i b l e , avoid low-energ y bulbs and fluorescent tubes, as these tend to flicker,
which the camera could inter pret as movement.

towards a strong light source ( for example, a lamp or direct sunlight) as it could
