Welcome
You have now become a proud owner of the Micromax.
MMX440W which provides you the following multiple utility
features to make your Internet connectivity and Power
Management so much more convenient.
The MMX440W offers you the following multiple utility features:
Wi-Fi Hotspot
Power Bank
Note: The MMX440W can be used with USB/RJ45 & 4400mAh
compatible devices.
Overview
MMX440W provides a simple way to connect to the Internet with
any Wi-Fi enabled device and to fulfil needs of sharing your

Internet connection with multiple devices. It also doubles up as a
power bank for your various compatible devices.

Connect the Device
Before you want to use the device, setup your device as following:
Create Wi-Fi via LAN
1. Switch on the device;

2. Connect the device with LAN cable through the RJ45 terminal
socket.
3. Push the power button up to start the MMX440W in
router/Wi-Fi mode (R-position).
3. Search and access the Wi-Fi from your PC/handset/tablet etc.
You will be required to provide the authentication details.
Note:
If you want to change the connection settings, or if you are having
problem connecting, enter the UI path (IP address) in the browser.
Create Wi-Fi via Data card
You can use your Internet connected data card to create a Wi-Fi
hotspot which can be accessed by various Wi-Fi devices.

To enable Wi-Fi via a data card:
1. Switch on the device;
2. Plug in the Internet enabled data card to the USB socket as
shown below.
3. Push the power button up to start the MMX440W in
router/Wi-Fi mode (R-position).
3. Search and access the Wi-Fi from your PC/handset/tablet etc.
You may be required to provide the authentication details.
Note: The Wi-Fi name which will displayed to the user will be
MMX440W-last 4 digits of the MAC address of that particular
device: For example MMX440W-2F12). The default password to
access the Wi-fi is 12345678. Once connected, you can start

Connect to MMX440W Wi-FI
The final step is to connect to the MMX440W from your Wi-Fi
device/PC.
To connect to the MMX440W Wi-Fi,
1. Go to Wireless Network Connections from either the Control
Panel or the Desktop.

2. There will be an icon at the bottom right corner of the
computer. Right click the mouse and choose View Available
Wireless Networks” in the prompt box.

3. In the pop-up network list, choose the required wireless
network: SPEEDSTERMMX440W, click the connection” button
and input the password of WIFI. Factory default of WIFI
password is 12345678.
4. When the interface displays “Already Connected”,
which indicates that the computer is successfully
connected to this wireless network.

Charging the MMX440W Device
1. Move the switch on the device to ON mode, Charging mode
or OFF mode (charging of this device can be done in all three
cases).
2. Connect the charging cable to the USB/charging port and the
other end to the power source (laptop)

3. Press the indicator to see the charging level.
4. When all the indicator lights are on, then full charge has
happened. So you need to remove the charger in this case. No
auto-cut facility is available during charging.
Use as Power Bank
You can use the MMX440W as a charging source for various
compatible devices.
To charge other devices using the MMX440W:
1. Push the power button up C Position (Charging position).
2. Connect the device to be charged, to the MMX440W using
the charging cable.

Log in to the Configuration Page
You can log into the configuration page to view or perform
various settings:
Mode: Set the device work mode
3G: Set/configure various 3G options
LAN: Set LAN options and range of IP address etc.
Wireless: Set Wireless preferences
Security: Set security preferences
Server: Set Server preferences
Routing: Routing details of the connection
Admin: lets your perform various administrative tasks.
To log in to the configuration page:
1. Open the browser and then input the address 192.168.10.1. A
screen similar to the following displays:
2. Provide the User name and password as admin/admin and
click Login. A screen similar to the following displays:

Setup Parameters
SSID: Speedster440WXXXX (where XXXX= Last four digits of
the MAC address)
Wi-Fi Password: 12345678
Admin IP: http://192.168.10.1/
Admin Username : admin
Admin Password: admin
Restore Factory Defaults
All configuration information will be lost after you restore factory
defaults. Factory default login is 192.168.10.1 and the default user
name and password are all admin.
Hardware restoration:
1. Push the switch to gear R and MMX440W is powered on with
the blue status indicator.

2. Insert an object with sharp ends into the small hole with the
mark of “R”, press it for more than three seconds, stop
pressing when the red light is on and wait for the restart of the
device.
If the blue light flashes after the restart, the restoration of factory
defaults is successful. All the settings will be restored to the
factory defaults. Wireless connection needs to be done again.
Note: This reset is useful when you forget your Wi-Fi password.
Software restoration:
1. Push the switch to gear R and connect it to the MMX440W via
Wi-Fi.
2. Log into the configuration page and click on the Admin tab.
3. Click on the Factory Defaults> Restore Defaults and click on
OK to the confirmation prompt.
The device will restart automatically. Wireless connection needs
to be done again.

Taking Care of Your Device
Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and
should be handled with care: The following suggestions will help
you protect your device:
Do not store the device in high or cold temperature. Extreme
temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices and
damage batteries.
Keep the device dry. Precipitation, humidity, and all types of
liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will rust
electronic circuits.
Do not use or store the device in dusty, dirty areas. Its moving
parts and electronic components can get damaged.
Do not drop, knock, shake or bend the device. Rough handling
can break internal circuit boards and fine mechanics.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong
detergents to clean the device. Only use a soft, clean, dry cloth
to clean the surface of the device.
Do not store your device near magnetic fields or allow your
device to come in contact with magnetic fields for extended
period of time as it may interfere with the electronic circuits
and display.
Use manufacturer approved charger, accessories and supplies.
Micromax will not be held responsible for users and/or the
products safety when using unapproved accessories or
supplies. This goes against the warranty rules.
Do not attempt to repair the device by your own. Repairing

the device by you other than our authorized service
agents/centers goes against the warranty rules.
Recycle Your Gadget
The WEEE logo (shown at the left) appears on the product
(battery, device, and charger) to indicate that this product must
not be disposed off or dumped with your other household wastes.
You are liable to dispose of all your electronic or electrical waste
equipment by relocating over to the specified collection point for
recycling of such hazardous waste.
Collection and proper recovery of your electronic waste
equipments at the time of disposal will allow us to help preserve
the environment. Recycling of the electronic waste equipment will
