the cooking pot (see features 8 and 9).
BEFORE FIRST USE
2. Now that you have read the stickers, they can be removed. Do not remove
the product rating plate.

AIR FRYER OPERATION
The following instructions will assist you in learning how to operate your Air Fryer.
The sequence of operating steps remains the same regardless of what you are
cooking. Please use the feature diagram to help you while you are learning to
safely use this Air Fryer.
1. Place the Air Fryer on a stable, flat, heat resistant surface.
2. Connect your Air Fryer to an easily accessible electric outlet. The power on
indicator light will come on.
3. Remove the cooking pot by carefully pulling on the handle. This task is simpler
to do if you place one hand on top of the Air Fryer while you pull the handle
with your other hand. If you have used the Air Fryer recently, it may be hot so
make sure to protect your hand with an oven mitt.
4. When you remove the cooking pot place it on a flat, stable and heat resistant
surface.
5. Remove the frying basket if necessary.
NOTE: The frying basket has a basket release button. Pressing the release
button will cause the frying basket to separate from the cooking pot. Never
press the basket release button until the cooking pot has been placed on a flat,
stable and heat resistant surface. Place the food ingredients you wish to cook in
the frying basket. Do not overfill.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6. Place the frying basket into the cooking pot and then you can insert the
cooking pot into the Air Fryer.
NOTE: Remember this unit has an Interlock Mechanism which will prevent

The correct position for the pot has been achieved if both sides are flush with
the body of the Air Fryer.
7. You can set the time and temperature settings as you need.
8. Pressing the power button (Start/Pause), and the Air Fryer will switch on.
9. The Air Fryer will now start to heat. Both the Power ON and the Heating
ON indicators will illuminate. The Heating On light (see features guide) will
start out blue and turn to red when the Air Fryer has finished preheating (at
approximately 3 minutes). Remember to add about 3 minutes to your cooking
time if you put food in the Air Fryer when it is cold.
10. You will see a fan icon spinning indicating that the Air Fryer is working.
NOTES:
a. The Heating ON indicator will cycle ON as blue and will turn to red when
the unit is warm.
b. You can adjust the time or temperature at any time during the cooking
process.
c. When you remove the cooking pot it is recommended that you use an oven
mitt to hold the handle as the Air Fryer does generate heat and get hot.
Do not touch the pot during cooking and even after completion as it will
remain hot. Only hold the pot by the handle with a cloth or oven glove.
d. You can preheat the Air Fryer before you use it or add 3 minutes to your
desired cooking time if the appliance has not been preheated and is cold.
e. You can preheat the Air Fryer with the cooking pot empty. Remove the pot
and then fill it with your food ingredients, return the basket to the pot and
the pot to the Air Fryer, set the timer and press the start button.
COOKING WITH YOUR AIR FRYER - HELPFUL TIPS
1. Traditional recipes can be converted to be used with Air Fry cooking.
Suggested accommodations for Air Frying include lowering the temperature
by 25-50 degrees and cutting the cooking time by about 20 percent.
2. Cooking small items requires less cooking time than larger items.
8
MODEL: RJ38-P1
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3. The difference in cooking times for large quantities of food versus smaller
quantities is not significant making air frying an efficient and time saving
method of cooking.
4. Shaking the cooking basket halfway through the cooking process optimizes
your cooking results.
5. Spraying oil on foods from a spray bottle will help brown and crisp your
ingredients.
6. Open your Air Fryer as often as you like to check on your ingredients.
7. Don’t overcrowd. If you put too much in the cooking basket, your food will
not crisp and brown evenly.
8. If you are making fatty or greasy foods put some water on the bottom of the
cooking pot. The cooking basket is perforated, and therefore, the fat from
foods will drain through the basket and into the cooking pot away from the
food.
9. Water can be added to the cooking pot to create a moist cooking
environment.
10. You can reheat food in your Air Fryer. Select a temperature that is safe for
your leftovers.
11. To remove delicate or hard to place foods, aluminum foil can be folded into a
strip that is placed under a pan, cake, or baking dish in the cooking basket or
pot. Tuck the ends into the cooking basket. Lower the food into the Air Fryer
and when your cooking is done, unfold the ends and use the foil as a sling to
raise the food out of the Air Fryer.
12. You can use oven safe baking dishes or pans in your Air Fryer. This expands
your cooking menu to include cakes and quiches. Small dishes may be or
fragile and you may want to protect them from breakage in the pot. Caution
should be taken to remove these dishes, and an aluminum foil sling can be
used.
13. You can bake dough filled snacks in your Air Fryer. Remember to adjust the
cooking time for the Air Fryer. Homemade dough takes longer to cook than a
purchased dough product.
14. You can even proof your raw dough. Proofing is a step needed to make a
yeast based dough rise. Put 1 cup of water in the bottom of your cooking
pot. Pre-heat the Air Fryer to 400 degrees for a few minutes. Turn off the Air
fryer. Place the dough in a greased bowl in the cooking basket. The dough
can sit and proof until you are ready to use it.
15. Clean the cooking pot and basket after every use.
