GENERAL & SPECIFIC
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1
. KNOW YOUR TOOL
Read and understand the owners manual and labels affixed to
the tool. Learn its application and limitations as well as its
s
pecific potential hazards.
2. GROUND THE TOOL.
This tool is equipped with an approved 3-conductor cord and
a 3-prong grounding type plug to fit the proper grounding type
receptacle. The green conductor in the cord is the grounding
wire.
NEVER connect the green wire to a live terminal.
3. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE.
Keep in good working order, properly adjusted and aligned.
4. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES.
Form habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
wrenches are removed from tool before turning it on.
5. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN.
Cluttered areas and benches invite accidents. Make sure the
floor is clean and not slippery.
6. AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT.
Don’t use power tools in damp or wet locations or expose
them to rain. Keep work area well lit and provide adequate
surrounding work space.
7. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY.
All visitors should be kept a safe distance from work area.
8. MAKE WORKSHOP CHILD-PROOF.

Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
14. MAINTAIN TOOL WITH CARE.
Keep tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance.
Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
15. DISCONNECT TOOLS.
Before servicing, when changing accessories or attachments.
16. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING.
Make sure the swich is in the ‘’OFF’’ position before plugging
in.
17. USE RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES.
Consult the manual for recommended accessories. Follow the
instructions that accompany the accessories. The use of
improper accessories may cause hazards.
18. NEVER STAND ON TOOL.
Serious injury could occur if the tool tips over. Do not store
materials such that it is necessary to stand on the tool to reach
them.
19. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS.
Before further use of the tool, a guard or other parts that are
damaged should be carefully checked to ensure that they will
operate properly and perform their intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and
any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or

ENTER INITIAL CUTS WITH A SMOOTH, STEADY PRESSURE.
After cutting, hold the cut-off saw head down, release the trigger
switch, and wait for the blade to come to a complete stop before
moving workpiece.
1) Always wear safety glasses.
2) Do not operate this cut-off saw with the guards in place.
3) Always clamp workpiece in vise, never do freehand work.
4) Unplug cut-off saw before servicing or replacing the blade.
5) Only use recommended accessories.
6) Make sure the cut-off saw is positioned on a flat and level surface
before operating.
7) Never reach around the blade or cross your arms in front of the
cut-off saw
.
8) Do not expose to rain or use in damp locations.
9) Replace cracked wheel immediately.
10) Do not overtighten wheel lock bolt.

13) Make sure the cut-off wheel is securely mounted as described
in the operating instructions before connecting the tool to a
power supply. Do not tighten wheel excessively, since this can

operation prior to use.
15) Use only cut-off wheel rated for 4400RPM or greater and
manufactured in compliance with
ANSI.
Always store wheels in

120V OPERATION
As received from the factory, your cut-off saw is wired for 110V-120V
operation and is intended for use on a circuit that has an outlet and a
plug which looks like the one illustrated in Fig.1.
GROUNDING
This cut-off saw must be grounded. If it should malfunction or
breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric
current, to reduce the risk of electric shock. This cut-off saw must be
equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and
grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet
that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local
codes and ordinances.
Not all outlets are properly grounded. If you are not sure if your
outlet is properly grounded, have it checked by a qualified electrician.

XTENSION CORDS
The use of any extension cord will cause some loss of power. Use the
following table to determine the minimum wire size (A.W.G-American
Wire Gauge) extension cord. Use only extension cords which accept
the tool’s plug.
For circuits that are further away from the electrical circuit box, the wire
size must be increased proportionately in order to deliver ample
voltage to the motor. Refer to Fig.2 for wire length and size.

1. Carefully remove all parts from the shipping carton.
2. Push the handle down and pull on the head lock (A) Fig.3 to release and raise the
cutting head.
3. Examine all parts to make sure no breakage has occurred during shipping. Any
damaged part must be replaced before attempting to use the cut-off saw.
ASSEMBLY
Your cut-off saw comes completely assembled and very little adjustments are
necessary before operating.
WARNING
: Do not connect machine to power source until the cut-off has been
cleaned, assembled and adjusted properly. Failure to comply could result in
accidental starting and possible serious injury.
Cut-off wheel removal
1. Be sure the power cord is disconnected from the power source.
2. Raise the cutting head to its fully raised position, rotate the lower wheel guard (A)
Fig.4 upwards, exposing the arbor bolt (B) which secures the abrasive wheel (C)
to the wheel arbor.
3. Push in the spindle lock lever (A) Fig.5 found below the operating handle and rotate
the wheel until the spindle lock lever engages, locking the wheel in place.
4. While holding the spindle lock lever in place, use the supplied wrench (D) Fig.4 and
loosen the arbor bolt (B) by rotating it counterclockwise. Remove the arbor bolt,
washer
, outside flange, and abrasive wheel.
Cut-off wheel installation
1. Be sure the power cord is disconnected from the power source.
2. Inspect the replacement wheel for defects such as cracks, chipping and correct
speed rating. If defects are found or the speed rating is not equal or greater than
4400 RPM, discard the wheel and select another.
3. Remove any debris from the inside flange and inner washer. Position the new abrasive wheel over the inner washer and against the inside
flange.
4. Place the outside flange flush against the abrasive wheel.
5. Place washer and and arbor bolt onto the threaded end of the wheel arbor and rotate it in a clockwise direction until snug. Then depress the
spindle lock lever to prevent the shaft from rotating, use the supplied wrench to tighten the arbor bolt.
WARNING: Do not overtighten the arbor bolt. Overtightening can cause the new wheel to crack, resulting in premature failure and possible
serious personal injury.
6. Lower the wheel guard into its operating position.
WARNING: Be sure to check the position of the machine arm adjustable depth stop to ensure the new wheel does not cut the surface
underneath the base when the machine’s arm is fully lowered. Failure to heed this WARNING can result in serious personal injury.

Adjustable stationary vise
T
he adjustable stationary vise (A) Fig.6 is located at the rear of your cut-off table. This
vise can be rotated to attain cutting angles from 0
0
to 45
0
and moved backwards to
allow greater cutting widths.
Cutting angle adjustment
To adjust the angle of cut:
1. Using the supplied wrench, loosen the hex. bolts (B) behind the vise.
2. Rotate the vise until the desired angle of cut is aligned with the indicator groove in
the saw base.
3. Check the angle of the vise in relation to the abrasive wheel using a protractor,
bevel square, or similar device.
4. While holding the vise (A) and using the supplied wrench, securely retighten the
hex. bolts (B).
Moving the stationary vise
To increase the width of cut of the cut-off saw:
1. Using the supplied wrench, remove hex. bolts (B) Fig.6 securing the vise to the
cut-off saw base.
2. Reposition the curved slot of the vise base with the most rear threaded hole in the
saw base and install a hex. bolt in this hole. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
3. Align the remaining vise bolt hole with the middle threaded hole in the saw base
and install the other hex. bolt.
4. Check or adjust the cutting angle and securely tighten both hex. bolts with the
supplied wrench.
Quick lock-release vise
The cut-off saw is equipped with a quick lock-release vise system as standard
equipment. With this feature you are able to open and close the vise quickly without
repetitive turning of the vise crank handle.
Using the quick lock-release vise.
T
o loosen
:
1. Slightly release tension on the vise by rotating the crank handle (A) Fig.7 counter-
clockwise 1/2 to 1 turn.
2. Lift up (disengage) the quick lock-release half nut (B) and pull back on crank
handle to slide open the vise.
To tighten:
1. Push the crank handle (A) forward to slide the vise against the workpiece.
2. Make sure the quick lock-release half nut is lowered and has engaged the threaded shaft.
3. Rotate the crank handle clockwise to tighten the vise against the workpiece.
Adjustable positive depth stop
The adjustable depth stop (A) Fig.8 is threaded into the saw base. By raising and lowering the depth stop bolt using the supplied wrench you
can control how far the abrasive wheel travels when the machine handle is depressed. After making an adjustment of the depth stop bolt, make
sure to tighten the hex. nut (B).

PERATING
Before operating the cut-off saw, check the power supply and make sure it meets the
requirements listed on the nameplate. A substantial voltage drop will cause a loss of
p
ower and machine overheating. Common causes of power loss and machine over-
heating are insufficient extension cord size and multiple tools operating from the same
p
ower source.

witch
To start the cut-off saw, completely depress and hold the safety button (A) Fig.9 and
then press the trigger switch (B) both located in the operating handle. To stop the saw,
release the trigger switch completely.
Cutting
WARNING: Do not attempt to cut wood or masonry with this saw. Never cut
magnesium or magnesium alloy with this saw
. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL
INJURY.
1. It is recommended to secure the saw in place to prevent machine movement or tipping during the cutting procedure.
2. Firmly secure the material to be cut using the saw’s vise.
WARNING: Large, circular, or irregularly shaped material may require additional means of clamping to be secured in place adequately for
cutting. Use “C” clamps and blocks to hold material securely. Failure to comply could result in serious personal injury.
3. Start the saw and allow the cut-off wheel to come up to full speed before the cut-off wheel comes in contact with the workpiece.
4. Slowly push down on the operating handle until the cut-off wheel contacts the material being cut. Use a steady and even pressure to obtain a
uniform cut. Never force the wheel into the workpiece.
5. When the cut is complete, release the trigger switch and allow the wheel to stop before raising the cutting head it to the full open position.
DANGER: Do not touch the cut material until it cools down or you will be burnt! Failure to heed this warning will result in serious
personal injury.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always disconnect the cut-off saw from the power source before servicing the unit or making adjustments.
Keep the tool clean. Remove accumulated dust and metal particles from working parts. Periodically check screws and bolts for tightness. Apply
dry lubricant monthly to the points listed to extend machine service life. Lubrication points:

ise screw shaft.
Front vise clamp rotation shaft.
Slide way of vise.
Remove the brush caps at regular intervals to check the carbon brushes. When the brushes are worn to the “standard line”, as indicated on the
carbon brush, replace them.
WARNING: Do not use solvents to clean plastic parts.
