Positioning and connection

Positioning

1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.

2. Donot obstruct the rear fan grills. The compressor and

condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate

correctlyandsaveenergy.

3. Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartofthe

applianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cmbetween

thesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.

4. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat(direct

sunlight,electricstove,etc.).

5. Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweentheappliance

andthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedintheinstallation

kit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.

Levelling

1. Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.

2. Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigeratorby

tighteningorlooseningthefrontfeet.

Electrical connections

Aftertheappliance has been transported, carefully place it

verticallyand waitat least3 hoursbefore connectingitto the

electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectricalsocket

ensurethefollowing:

• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththelaw.

• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpoweroftheappliance,

whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleft

sideofthefridge(e.g.150W).

• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevaluesindicated

onthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside(e.g.220-

240V).

• Thesocket is compatible with the plug of the appliance.If

thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised

techniciantoreplaceit(seeAssistance).Donotuseextension

cordsormultiplesockets.

!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupplycable

andtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.

!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.

!Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedbyauthorised

techniciansonly(seeAssistance).

! The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety

measures not be observed.

! Installation of the device will be carried out by authorized

service.

Start-up and use

Starting the appliance

! Aftertransportationof the appliance, carefully place it in an

uprightpositionandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingitto

theelectricitymains,tomakesureitoperatesasitshould.

• Cleantheinsideoftherefrigeratorwellusingwarmwaterand

bicarbonateofsodabeforeplacingfoodinsideit.

• Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem

whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes

afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime

thepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyorinvoluntarily

(blackout).

Freezer Compartment

Whentheproductisswitchedonthefreezercompartmentissetto

itsdefaultvalueof-18°C.WerecommendthattheSUPERFREEZE

functionissetinordertoacceleratethecoolingprocessofthe

compartment;whentheinsideofthecompartmenthasreached

itsoptimaltemperaturethefunctionwillbedeactivatedandthe

foodmaybeplacedinside.

Navigating the display

Setting the temperatures:

Iftheproductis switched on, the refrigerator and freezer

compartmentdisplayswillindicatethetemperaturevaluessetat

thatmoment.Tochangethem,simplypressthe-and+buttons

correspondingtothecompartmentforwhichyouwishtochange

thesettemperature.Morespecifically,eachtimethebuttonsare

pressed,thetemperatureincreasesordecreasesandthelevelof

coldgeneratedinsidethecompartmentisadjustedaccordingly.

Thetemperaturevaluesthatmaybeselectedfortherefrigerator

compartmentare+8°C,+7°C,+6°C,+5°C,+4°C,+3°Cand+2°C,

whilethevaluesthatmaybesetforthefreezerare-18°C,-19°C,

-20°C,-21°C,-22°C,-23°C,-24°C

-25°Cand-26°C.IfSUPERFREEZEfunctionsisactivated,Freezer

temperaturecannotbemodified.

Chiller system

NO FROST

TheNoFrostsystemcirculatescoldaircontinuouslytocollect

humidityandpreventiceandfrostformation.Thesystemmaintains

anoptimalhumidity level in the compartment, preserving the

originalquality of the food, preventing the food from sticking

togetherand making defrosting a thing of the past.Donot

blocktheaerationcellsbyplacingfoodorcontainersnearthe

refrigeratingbackpanel.

!Closebottlesandwrapfoodtightly.

Using the refrigerator to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• Placeonlycoldorlukewarmfoodsinthecompartment,never

hotfoods(seePrecautionsandtips).

• Rememberthat cooked foods do not last  longer than raw

foods.

• Donotstoreliquidsinopencontainers:theywillincreasethe

levelofhumidityintherefrigeratorandcausecondensation

toform.

ACTIVE OXIGEN

Thisdevicereleasesozone molecules inside the refrigerator;

ozoneisa natural substance which combats bacteria and

microorganisms,reducingtheirproliferation while limiting

unpleasantodours.Automaticallydefines the amount of ozone

requiredforprolongingthefreshnessoffoodstuffs,eliminating

odoursandpreventingbacteriabuild-up.Theremaybeaslight

distinctiveodourinsidetherefrigerator.Theverysamesmellcan

sometimesbedetectedduringastorm,duetotheozoneproduced

asthechargeinthelightningboltsisreleased;thisiscompletely

normal.Theamountproducedbythedeviceisverysmalland

abatesquicklyastheantibacterialactiontakesplace.Deviceis

activatedpressingthededicatedkeyonthedisplaylocatedin

frontofthefridgedoor.WiththeActiveOxigenswitchedon,the

devicewilloperatearepetedcycleuntilthekeyispressedagain.

TherewillbeanOzoneemissionnoticedbytheswitchingonof

thegreenledlocatedontheActiveOxigendevicelocatedinthe

fridgecompartmentandastand-bycicle(withoutzoneemission)

noticedbybluelight.

SHELVES:Duetothespecialguidestheshelvesareremovable

andtheheight is adjustable, allowing easy storage of large

containersandfood.

FRUITandVEGETABLEbin*

Thesaladcrispersfittedinsidethefridgehavebeenspecially

designedforthepurposeofkeepingfruitandvegetablesfreshand

crisp.Openthehumidityregulator(positionB)ifyouwanttostore

foodinalesshumidenvironmentlikefruit,orcloseit(positionA)

tostorefoodinamorehumidenvironmentlikevegetable.

TEMPERATUREIndicatorlight*:toidentifythecoldestareain

therefrigerator.

1. Check that OK appears clearly on the indicator light (see

diagram).

2. Iftheword“OK”doesnotappearitmeansthatthetemperature

istoohigh:setalowertemperatureandwaitapproximately10

hoursuntilthetemperaturehasbeenstabilised.

3. Checktheindicatorlightagain:ifnecessary,readjustitfollowing

theinitialprocess.Iflargequantitiesoffoodhavebeenadded

orif the refrigerator door hasbeen opened frequently, it is

normalfortheindicatornottoshowOK.Waitatleast10hours

beforeadjustingtheREFRIGERATOROPERATIONknobtoa

highersetting.

Using the freezer to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalreadybeen

defrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten(within24

hours).

• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeintocontact

withfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.

• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich

arecorkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecausethey

couldbreak.

• Themaximum quantity of food that maybefrozen daily is

indicated ontheplatecontaining the technical properties

locatedonthebottomleftsideoftherefrigeratorcompartment

(forexample:Kg/24h:4).

• Tofreeze(if the freezer is already operating): pressthe

rapid freezing SUPER FREEZE button (corresponding blue

indicatorlightilluminates),insertthefoodandclosethedoor.

Thefunctionisdisabledautomaticallyafter24hoursorwhen

optimaltemperatureshavebeenreached(indicatorlightgoes

out)

! Do not store foodtoo large in theupperfreezer drawer if is

presentthe‘IceDevice”.

!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.

!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezer

door.Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,

ensuringthatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.

Easy Ice *

Thedoubletubwasdesignedtooptimisespaceinthefreezer

compartmentandtoensurethaticeisalwaysreadilyavailable.

Thetrayscanbestackedorfilledandusedseparately.

Furthermore,the special fastening systemmakes Easy Ice an

extremelyflexiblesolution,asitcanbepositionedintherightor

leftpartofthetopdrawers.

Food Care Zone *

Areadedicatedtothestorageoffreshfood,suchasmeatand

fish.Thankstothelowtemperatureinsidethecompartment,the

FoodCareZoneextendstheperiodoftimeforwhichthefood

canbestored,keepingitfreshforuptoaweek.

Food Care Zone 0°C / Safe Defrost* :

Acompartmentdesignedtokeepdelicatefoodsuchasmeat

andfishfresh.Thelowtemperatureinthecompartment(-2/+3°

C)makesitpossibletostorethefoodforuptooneweek-tests

performedon meat products - without changing its nutrients,

appearanceandflavour.

Thecompartmentisalsoverysuitableforhealthyfooddefrosting,

aslow-temperaturedefrostingprevents any proliferation of

microorganisms, while protecting its taste and organoleptic

properties.

Itisnotsuitableforfruit,vegetablesandgreensalad.Butitcan

beusedforfreshorveryfreshdairyproductsandmilk,stuffed

freshpastaandevencookedfoodorleftovers.

Maintenance and care

Switching the appliance off

Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessarytodisconnect

theappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:

1. PresstheON/OFFbuttontoswitchofftheappliance.

2. Pulltheplugoutofthesocket.

!Ifthisprocedureisnotfollowed,thealarmmaysound.Thisalarm

doesnotindicate a malfunction. To restore normal operation,

holdthe ON/OFFbutton down formore thantwoseconds. To

disconnecttheappliance,followpoints1and2above.

Cleaning the appliance

• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubbersealsmay

becleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedinlukewarm

waterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Donotuse

solvents,abrasiveproducts,bleachorammonia.

• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwaterand

soapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythemcarefully.

• Theback of the appliance may collect dustwhichcanbe

removedbydelicatelyusingthehoseofavacuumcleanerset

onmediumpower.Theappliancemustbeswitchedoffand

theplugmustbepulledoutbeforecleaningtheappliance.

• Duringthe cleaning ofthe slide railsfor the drawersin the

freezercompartment,itmayhappenthattheautomaticdrawer

closuremechanismisdeactivated.Toreactivateit,simplyclose

thedraweralittlemoreforcefullythanisusuallynecessary.

Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours

• Theapplianceismanufacturedwithhygienicmaterialswhich

areodourfree.Inordertomaintainanodourfreerefrigerator

andtopreventtheformationofstains,foodmustalwaysbe

coveredorsealedproperly.

• Ifyouwanttoswitchtheapplianceoffforanextendedperiod

oftime,cleantheinsideandleavethedoorsopen.

I Care function

The ICare  function canbeactivated to optimise energy

consumptionwhilemaintainingthecoolingperformanceofthe

product.Thisfunction maximises the amount of energy saved.

Undertheseconditions,thedisplayremainsoffevenwhenthe

doorisopened.Thefunctionisactivatedbypressingandholding

thesuperfreezerandFRZ(+)buttonssimultaneouslyforatleast

6seconds.Oncethefunctionhasbeenactivated,allLEDswill

lightupfor2secondstoconfirmactivation,andthetemperature

settingof+5,-18willappearonthedisplay.Thedisplayswitches

offafter5seconds.Tochangethetemperature,simplypressthe

+and–buttonsuntilyouhavereachedthedesiredtemperature.

However,theICarefunctioncanalsobedisabledbyswitching

theproductoffusingtheON/OFFbutton.Whenitisswitchedback

on,theICarewillbedisabled.

Replacing the light bulb

Thankstothepowerfullightitemits,thenewLEDlightingsystem

offersaclearviewofallfoods,withnoshadowyareas.IftheLED

needstobereplaced,pleasecontacttheTechnicalAssistance

Service.

Precautions and tips

!Theappliancewasdesignedandmanufacturedincompliance

withinternationalsafetystandards.Thefollowingwarningsare

providedforsafetyreasonsandmustbereadcarefully.

 

Handling and transportation warnings

•Makesurethepackagingduringtransportationcompletelyclosed,

•Dothehandlingandshippingprocesseswithoriginalpackaging.

•Damagetotheproductduringtransportandbreakdowndoesnot

occur,hitting,shock,dropandsoon.Payattentiontothedamage

totheproductduetoexternalfactors.

•Moisture that can damage the packaging, water, etc. Protect

againstexternalfactors.

•Installationofthedevicewillbecarriedoutbyauthorizedservice



General safety

• Theappliancewasdesignedfordomesticuseinsidethehome

andisnotintendedforcommercialorindustrialuse.

• Theappliancemustbeusedtostoreandfreezefoodproducts

byadultsonlyandaccordingtotheinstructionsinthismanual.

• Theappliancemustnotbeinstalledoutdoors,evenincovered

areas.Itis extremely dangerous to leave the appliance

exposedtorainandstorms.

• Donottouchtheappliancewithbarefeetorwithwetormoist

handsandfeet.

• Donottouchtheinternalcoolingelements:thiscouldcause

skinabrasionsorfrost/freezerburns.

• Whenunpluggingtheappliancealwayspulltheplugfromthe

mainssocket,donotpullonthecable.

• Before cleaning and maintenance, always switch off the

applianceanddisconnectitfromtheelectricalsupply.Itisnot

sufficienttosetthetemperatureadjustmentknobsonON/OFF

(applianceoff)toeliminateallelectricalcontact.

• Inthecaseofamalfunction,undernocircumstancesshould

youattempttorepairtheapplianceyourself.Repairscarried

outbyinexperienced persons may cause injury or further

malfunctioningoftheappliance.

• Donotuseanysharporpointedutensilsorelectricalequipment

-otherthanthetyperecommendedbythemanufacturer-inside

thefrozenfoodstoragecompartments.

• Donotputicecubestakendirectlyfromthefreezerintoyour

mouth.

Disposal

environment

• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.Ensure

thatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonotplaceitnear

heatsources.

• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsoropening

thedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.

• Do not fill the appliance with too much food: cold air must

circulatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.Ifcirculation

isimpeded,thecompressorwillworkcontinuously.

• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.Theinternal

temperaturewillincreaseandforcethecompressortowork

harderandwillconsumemoreenergy.

Troubleshooting

Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance(see

Assistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.

The display is completely switched off.

• Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot

farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.

• TheI-Carefunctionisactive.

The motor does not start.

• Theappliance comes with a motor protectioncontrol(see

Start-up and use).

The display is on but it is dim.

• Pulloutandreversetheplugbeforeputtingitbackinthesocket.

The alarm sounds and DOOR OPEN ALARM flashes on the

display (“dr” is displayed instead of the REFRIGERATOR

temperature).

• Therefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenformorethantwominutes.

 Thesoundalertstopswhenthedoorisclosedorwhenthe

applianceisswitchedoffandonagain.

The alarm sounds and TEMPERATURE ALARM flashes

on the display (“A1” is displayed instead of the FREEZER

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueon thefreezer display,switch offthe TEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The alarm sounds and temperature alarm flashes on the

display (“A2” is displayed instead of the FREEZER

temperature).

• Thetemperature of the freezer is dangerously high:the

foodinsidemust not be eaten. The freezer will maintain a

temperatureofapproximately-18°C.

 Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor

orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueon thefreezer display,switch offthe TEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.

• Thedoorsdonotcloseproperlyorthesealsaredamaged.

• Thedoorsareopenedtoofrequently.

• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoohigh(see Start-up

• Therefrigeratororthefreezerhavebeenover-filled.

The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.

The motor runs continuously.

• The function SUPER FREEZE has been enabled

The appliance makes a lot of noise.

• Theappliancehasnotbeeninstalledonalevelsurface(see

Early ending of functions

Condensation on the outside of the refrigerator or between

the doors

•Humidweatherincreasescondensation.Whenthehumidity

Bad odour inside the refrigerator

•Insideoftherefrigeratormustbecleaned.Foodmustbekeptin

Ifthecommodityisunderstoodtobedefectiveunderarticle

11ofConsumerProtectionLaw,consumershall beentitledto

optionalrights(i)tonotifythesellerthatheisreadytoreturnsold

itemandrenegeoncontract,(ii)tokeepsolditemandrequest

rebatefrom sales price pro rata to defect, (iii) torequestfree

ofchargerepairofsolditem,allexpensesatseller’saccount,
