It features both a preamp equalizer and a crossover in a compact design that fits under your car stereo system. The equalizer section allows you to adjust the levels of four frequency bands (sub bass, mid bass, mid range, and treble) to customize the sound to your preference. The crossover section splits the audio signal into high and low frequencies, which can be sent to separate amplifiers and speakers to create a more balanced and immersive sound experience.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting the 7004B Four-Band Equalizer/Two way Crossover.
This model is specially designed to provide the multi-speaker system of your vehicle with more improved sound performance. It is an
excellent unit which has both PREAMP EQUALIZER and CROSSOVER, in a compact ½ din chassis to fit into your car dashboard
under your car stereo system. This unit also comes with special mounting bracket to install it under your dashboard or in your glove
compartment.
Now it’s time to consider how you can maximize the fun and excitement your equipment offers. Used wisely, your sound equipment
will provide a lifetime of fun and enjoyment.
Please read this manual before attempting any installation so that you can get good results, period.
1) INPUT 1/INPUT 2
These are the input connections to the equalizer which enable L/R of INPUT 1 and L/R of INPUT 2 to be connected to your head unit.
Of course you can select either INPUT 1 or INPUT 2 separately by the INPUT SELECTOR. If you connect the radio source and the
CD source separately to INPUT 1 and INPUT 2, you can choose one of the two by the INPUT SELECTOR SWITCH (6).
2) INPUT GAIN CONTROL
The gain control is used to match the input signal from the source unit.
Please adjust the gain control to prevent any distortion at high volumes and to reduce hiss at low volumes. Please turn on the audio
system before you adjust the gain control.
Be sure to repeat this procedure for the 2
nd
input source.
3) VOLUME CONTROL
The audio level (volume) is increased or decreased with this VOLUME control.
NOTE: The adequate input signal must be provided from the input source for the VOL-Level control to function properly.
4) SUBWOOFER CONTROL
The subwoofer level (volume) is increased or decreased with this VOLUME control.
5) FADER CONTROL
This allows you to select FRONT or REAR.
By adjusting this FADER CONTROL to your desired level, you can choose your designated amplifiers (FRONT/REAR) to which the
full signal is distributed.
6) INPUT (1, 2)
This allows you to select INPUT 1 or INPUT 2.
7) SUB BASS CONTROL
This allows 120Hz frequency to be increased or decreased.
8) MID BASS CONTROL
This allows 120Hz frequency to be increased or decreased.
9) MID RANGE CONTROL
This allows 2.2KHz frequency to be increased or decreased.
10) TREBLE CONTROL
This allows 12KHz frequency to be increased or decreased.
11) FRONT/REAR OUTPUT
The L/R of FRONT or REAR are HIGH PASS OUTPUTS.
These are connected to your vehicle’s power amplifiers.
12) SUBWOOFER OUTPUT
The L/R of subwoofer or LOW PASS OUTPUTS when crossover is used.
These are connected to your vehicle’s SUB amplifiers.
13) STEREO MONO SELECTOR
Allows you to change the subwoofer output from stereo to mono, thus facilitating single subwoofer installations.
14) FRONT/REAR SUBWOOFER FREQUENCY SWITCH
The switch allows you to select (-) 3 dB frequency of both FRONT/REAR/SUBWOOFER L/R. You can control equalizer at FULL
RANGE when equalizer is on.
15) POWER CONNECTOR
Plug the power harness labeled into the power jack. When connecting the harness to the +12 volt DC supply, please be sure that the
connecting +12 volt DC and ground wires are of adequate thickness to handle the current. The lead marked “REMOTE” is connected
to the power aerial lead of the head unit. If your head unit does not have a power aerial lead, then connect the “REMOTE” to +12 volt
DC through a toggle switch. Be sure to turn the switch off when your radio is not in use.
You must use a fused line for the +12 volt DC power input to protect against short circuit.
RED
This is the positive (+) 12 volt input connection which provides the equalizer with operating voltage. A good source of power for this
connection is the same power source that supplies the head unit (AM/FM/RECEIVER/PLAYER). The power source may be constant
or switched ignition period.
NOTE:
Do not remove the factory supplied fuse holder. Removal of this fuse will void the warranty and cause the unit to be
permanently damaged. Only use recommended fuse ratings when replacing.
ORANGE
This is the remote activation input connection which turns the equalizer controller on and off with the audio system. (+)12 volt power
is supplied from the audio receiver through the power antenna output or remote output lead.
NOTE:
When activating multiple units (Equalizer, Crossover and additional Amplifiers) a relay system must be used to prevent
damage to the audio receiver.
BLACK
This is the negative (-)12 volt input connection. Connect this lead to a solid chassis ground free of paint, plastic, and other non-
conductive materials. This connection should be very secure. The wire should not move.
NOTE:
When using multiple signal processors (Equalizers, Crossover and additional Amplifiers) a common grounding source should
be made to prevent noise problems.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
We suggest that you connect the wiring and confirm that this unit operates properly with your system before you actually mount it in
your vehicle.
However you should choose the mounting location first. Then, when the equalizer is connected and working properly, you can mount
it without rerouting the wires.
Please read the following installation procedures carefully so that you can keep this unit working properly.
This unit has two major functions of PREAMP EQUALIZER AND CROSSOVER.
LOCATION
- Mount the unit in a suitable position, in or under the dashboard
- Use the supplied mounting bracket when you mount it under the dashboard.
1. Connect the input to the output of the head unit by using high quality patch cords. When your head unit has multiple outputs,
you can select either INPUT 1 or INPUT 2 based on your previous selection.
2. If the outputs of your heat unit are FRONT/REAR, you can connect FRONT and REAR to INPUT 1 and INPUT 2
separately. Then you can select FRONT or REAR by using INPUT SELECTOR SWITCH.
3. In case of FRONT or REAR L/R, the outputs of this unit are connected to the inputs of the power amplifier which drives
speaker of high-pass frequency.
In case of SUBWOOFER L/R, the outputs of this unit are connected to the inputs of the power amplifier which drives low-
pass frequency.
4. Please reset frequency to match your speaker.
After considering the output level of your head unit and the input sensitivity of your amplifier, you are recommended to
adjust the volume of input sensitivity.
