ASI MIS-08D is a dual vehicle intercom system designed for armored vehicles. It allows the driver to communicate with someone outside the vehicle, without opening a window, as well as with a passenger in the back. The system can also be used as a Public Address (PA) system and a siren. It includes a main intercom unit, a paging horn, a microphone in the outside rear view mirror, and a passenger station.

Operating Instructions - Part 1
The MIS-08D was designed for the armored vehicle industry to allow the driver to communicate with a
person outside, without opening a window and also a passenger in the back of the truck. As well as
an intercom, the MIS-08D also includes a Public Address System and a Siren.
The system consists of a main intercom unit which is mounted under the dash board, a paging horn
mounted under the hood, a small microphone which is mounted in the outside rear view mirror on the
driver's side and a passenger station mounted in the back of the truck. It includes a hand held
microphone with push to talk switch which hangs on a clip mounted on the dash. Once installed and
connected to the vehicle's 12 volt electrical system, it is ready to use.
To operate the system, simply turn on the power switch. An LED illuminates to indicate that it is
functioning.
Outside Mode: Press the "OUTSIDE" button to set the system to outside mode. Adjust the Left
Hand volume control (Outside Mic) to obtain the desired volume from the outside microphone. You
will hear this through a speaker built into the main unit.
In order to speak to people outside the vehicle, press the talk switch on the hand held microphone
and adjust the second volume control (Inside Mic) to the desired level. When you press the talk
switch, the internal speaker is muted, so you won't hear your own voice coming back through the
outside microphone. You should experiment with this volume level with the window or door open so
you can hear it. Once you have determined the level you want, you will probably not need to adjust it
again.
To operate the siren, turn on the siren switch on the right side of the unit. There is no external volume
control for the siren. It is preset internally

Operating Instructions - Part 2
Passenger Mode: Press the "PASSENGER" button to set the system to passenger mode. This will
illuminate the Amber light on the Main Unit. Adjust the Left Hand volume control (Outside), if required,
to obtain the desired volume from the passenger microphone. You will hear this through a speaker
built into the main unit.
In order to speak to people in the back of the truck, press the talk switch on the hand held
microphone. When you press the talk switch, the internal speaker is muted, so you won't hear your
own voice coming back through the passenger microphone. There is a volume control on the
Passenger Unit for the passenger to adjust the volume level of the driver's voice.
Passenger Call: In order for the passenger to initiate a conversation with the driver, press the "CALL"
button on the Passenger Station. This will illumniate the Red Call lights on both the Main Unit and the
Passenger Station. It will also sound a Buzzer in the Main Unit and automatically swtich the system
to Passenger Mode.
At this point, it operates as described above in the Passenger Mode description.
