Basic Screen
Quick Copy Screen
DENSITY/BACKGROUND REMOVAL
Density: Lighten or darken print from original
Background: Lighten/darken background when original is on colored
paper
PAPER
Auto Paper = (Default) Copier picks paper tray based on size of originals
Selection = Touch paper tray to select a specific paper tray
Bypass = Side feeder for specialty paper: card stock (up to 59#),
transparencies, etc
* To Prevent Paper Jams: load paper in trays with the 'curl' side up!
ZOOM
- Default: 1.00 (100%)
- Range: 25%- 400% (0.250 - 4.000)
- Auto Zoom: Automatically reduce or enlarge based on original size
X/Y Zoom: Enter specific zoom amount
Fine Tune: Customize using ▲ and ▼
Preset keys: Show amounts and/or paper size examples

FINISHING
Sort: Copier keeps multiple-page sets together
Group: Copier separates copies by page
Offset: Sets or groups are shifted to separate them
Output Tray: Designates where copies are placed
Fold/Bind: Creates folded/stapled booklets; *Optional feature
Staple: Choose by position Corner or 2 Position
Punch: Choose 2- or 3-hold punching *Optional punch kit must be installed
Position Setting: Change staple or punch position
Replace Staples: Used to move stapler forward when replacing staples
SEPARATE SCAN
Allows multiple stacks of originals to be scanned separately and included in one
document
AUTO ROTATE OFF
Print without image rotated to fit the orientation of the loaded paper
This feature is turned on as a default so originals will be oriented to fit copy paper
JOB LIST
Current Jobs: Lists jobs that are queued and being performed, allowing you to
check the current status of the machine.
Job History: Lists jobs that have been completed, including jobs that were not
performed due to an error, allowing you to check the history and result of all jobs.

Mixed Original
Detects the size of each original and selects matching paper size
Z-Folded Original
Reduces visible crease when copying folded items
Original Size
Allows specific/alternate original sizes to be input and copied
Binding Position
Adjusts for correct orientation when making double-sided copies
Original Direction
Compensates for originals turned in different directions

Text
Copying text-only documents; edges of copied text are sharpened,
easier to read
Text/Photo
Copying documents with both text and images
Photo
Use when copying originals printed on photographic paper;
produces smooth copy
Dot Matrix
Use for faint text (i.e. pencil writing) to darken
HARD KEYS
Utility/Counter
Press to access the meter count of the machine
Reset
Restores settings back to defaults
Interrupt
Temporarily interrupts a current job to allow another set of originals to be
copied using different settings; press interrupt again to return to the original
copy job, press start to resume
Proof Copy
Used to print a single sample copy set to be checked before printing a large
number of copies
Stop
Stops a job in progress and allows it to be restarted or cancelled
Start
Begins a copy job, also is used to continue a stopped job
Numeric Keys
Used to enter desired number of copies
Access
Used to input user account codes and reset for next code
Power Save
Used to manually activate low-power mode; will activate automatically after
a specified time of non-use; activates timer interrupt mode when weekly
timer is active

Sheet Cover/
Chapter Insert
OHP Interleave: Add blank or copy sheet after each transparency printed
Cover Sheet: Specify paper trays for front and/or back covers
Insert Sheet: Specify paper tray for pages inserted into document
Insert Image: Add page scanned from glass into top-fed document
Chapters: Designate pages to appear on front side of paper as the beginning of new
section or chapter when 2-siding
Program Jobs: Change settings when scanning each section of a document
Neg./Pos. Reverse
Black and white images are reversed, like a photo negative
Book Copy/Repeat
Book Copy: Copy two pages at a time when book is placed on glass
Image Repeat: Replicates one image multiple times
Page Separation: Creates two pages from one original fed in top feeder
Page Margin
Add space on left, right, or top side of a document by moving text
Image Adjust
Centering: Places small item in center of paper
Booklet
Reduces and arranges 8.5x11 originals into a half-sheet size booklet
- stapling only available with optional booklet finisher
Erase
Frame Erase: Erases designated outer edges by specified amounts
Center Erase: Erases center area of page by specified amount
Non-Image Area Erase: Allows lid to be open when copying while erasing area outside
of paper
Stamp/
Composition
Date/Time: Add date and/or time to your document
Page Number: Add page number of your choice to your document
Stamp: Add stamp messages such as Draft, Confidential, etc.
Stamp Repeat: Add text stamp repeated throughout document
Overlay: Image of the first original scanned will overlap remaining originals
Registered Overlay: A previously-scanned imaged can be scanned to the hard
drive and recalled to print overlapping another document
Header/Footer: Date/Time or Distribution Number can be added to each page
Distribution Number: Print four-digit distribution number to fill in the
background of each copied set
Watermark: Print the desired letter type from preset watermarks in the center
of the printed page background
Save In User Box
Store documents in designated box on the hard drive, then print when needed
Single/Double-Sided Settings
STAPLING AND COLLATING

Touch the FINISHING button at bottom of
BASIC tab on touchscreen.
To STAPLE, touch CORNER. This will put a staple
in the top, left corner of your document.
To COLLATE (without stapling), touch SORT. This
will keep your originals as a set.
*Choose OFFSET (yes) as well, to stagger each
set from one another.
To separate pages, touch GROUP. This will copy
each page individually. EX: 10 copies of page 1, 10
copies of page 2, etc.
*Choose OFFSET (yes) as well, to stagger each
group of pages from one another.
NOTE: Your copier may not have the optional Hole-Punch
or Fold/Bind features.
ENTERING YOUR OWN ZOOM AMOUNT

1. Touch the Zoom key
2. Touch XY ZOOM
3. Use Numeric Keypad to type in your amount, OK
Examples: 250.0 = 250% larger 50.0 = 50% smaller
4. Touch the PAPER key and select paper size,
usually Letter (8.5 x 11)
5. Place document in top left corner of glass, making
sure that the part you wish to enlarge is in that corner
6. Press START
MAKING TRANSPARENCIES or CARD STOCK

1. PLACE the transparencies/card stock into the
Bypass tray on right side. ►►►►►
2. WATCH the touchscreen;
it will change after about 3 to 4 seconds!*
3. TOUCH TRANSPARENCY or THICK PAPER key.
4. INSERT originals into the top feeder or place
one at a time on the glass, top left corner.
5. PRESS Start.
*If you miss the screen change:
- touch Bypass tray key on right
- touch Change Tray Setting

To Manually Enter an Email Address
Press the [Fax/Scan] hard key
Touch [Direct Input] tab on touch screen
Touch [Email]
Enter in email address (to enter more than one, touch [Next Dest.] after each address) then
press [OK]
Touch [Scan Settings] to adjust any of the following settings:
Touch [Start] to begin scanning to email
Using Programmed Email Address(es)
Press the [Fax/Scan] key on the Control Panel
Press the [Address Book] tab and choose the alpha index where destination is stored
Press the destination one touch key(s)
Touch [Scan Settings] to adjust settings as needed
Press [Start] to begin scanning to email
Scanning a Multi-Page Document From the Glass
Place first original onto platen glass, close lid
Press the [Fax/Scan] hard key
Use [Direct Input] or a one-touch key to enter email destination(s)
Touch [Scan Settings]
Touch [Separate Scan]
Adjust other scan settings if needed, press [OK]
Press [Start]
Place next original and press [Start], continue for remaining originals
When all originals have been scanned, touch [Finish] on screen
Press [Start] one last time to send scan
Storing Email Addresses in the Address Book
Press [Utility/Counter] key
Touch [One-Touch/User Box Registration]
Touch [Create One-Touch Destination]
Touch [Address Book]
Touch [E-mail]
Touch [New]
Touch [Name]; use alpha keys to enter name of person, press [OK]
Touch [Index] and choose where stored destination will appear in address book
Touch [E-mail Address]; enter address, press [OK]
Press [OK], CLOSE, and RESET to exit
SCANNING SETTINGS
Once a scan or fax destination is selected, some settings may be changed
using buttons at the bottom of the touch screen:

SCAN SETTINGS
Original Type
Select quality options: Text, Text/Photo, Photo, Dot Matrix
Simplex/Duplex
Select: 2-Sided or Cover Sheet +2-sided
Resolution
Increase or decrease: 200dpi to 600 dpi range
File Type
*Available only when scanning
Change file format: PDF (default), TIFF, or XPS; Encryption may be
added as security precaution.
Density
Lighten or darken document print
Separate Scan
Scan multiple pages from platen glass as one document, or combine
originals fed through top feeder and scanned from platen glass
Background Removal
Lighten or darken background of scanned document
Erase
Erase edges of document scanned per edge or entire frame
Book Scan
Scan two pages at a time from an open book on platen glass
Application
Scan Size: Specify original size by paper size
Annotation: Pre-registered information with User Boxes
TX Stamp: Adds mark () to originals to track pages sent
(optional stamp kit required)
Stamp/Composition: Add Date/Time, Page Number, Stamp
Neg/Pos Reverse: Switch each color to opposite (black to white, etc.
Full Blood Scan: Reads to full edge of original

Mixed Original
Scan documents with varying page sizes
Folded Original
Pulls document through feeder to determine paper size when item has been folded
Long Original
Reads documents longer than standard size (17”) through top feeder
Original Direction
Select orientation of originals so they are scanned correctly
Binding Position
Select binding position of double sided originals
COMMUNICATION SETTINGS
*Below options are available only when scanning
Email Settings
Document Name may be adjusted; all other email settings are set by the Administrator
URL Notification
Specify where email notifications of completion of the job are to be sent
