your purchase of the Eclipse
Integrated Series. These speakers have been meticulously engineered
to
give you
unparalleled performance, value, and years of trouble free listening enjoyment. With
the use
of
high tech materials designed for mobile use, such as rubber surrounds, mica
filled polypropylene cones, a Mylar® composite dome material
on
the tweeters, and a
Kapton® voice coil former, these speakers will hold
up
to the harshest of conditions.
In
order for you to get maximum enjoyment out of your new Eclipse speakers, we
recommend that you spend a few minutes and read through this manual.
We
do,
however, recommend that your Eclipse speakers
be
professionally installed by
your authorized Eclipse dealer. Speaker installations normally require specialized
knowledge and tools
in
order to successfully complete the task. Your authorized
Eclipse dealers have the experience and equipment necessary to flawlessly complete
your speaker installation
in
a fraction of the time it will take you. For the more
adventurous, this manual does give you the basics
on
installing your Eclipse speakers,
but if you have any doubts at all, please leave the installation to the professionals.
The
tweeter
in
every
EclipseIntegratedseries
speaker
is
protected
from
overpower
by
a
solid
state device.
If
you
apply
excessive
power
to
the
speaker,
this
device
will
momentarily
shut
down
the
tweeter
circuit
as an
indication
that
too
much
power
is
being delivered
to
the
speaker.
Should
you
experience
this
warning,
simply
reduce
the
power
to
the
speaker
and
normal
operation
will
resume
..

WIRING YOUR SPEAKERS
At this point, you will need to look at the instructions to your CD player, tape deck,
or external power amplifier
in
order to verify the proper connections. If you are using
the wire supplied with your Eclipse speakers, the wire with the black stripe
is
the
negative wire, and should be hooked to the negative output of the amplifier. The solid
wire
is
the positive wire, and should be hooked to the positive output
of
the amplifier.
Pay careful attention to this. If you reverse polarity of one speaker, the low frequency
output
of
the pair will be greatly reduced. (see diagram below)

REAR DECK MOUNTING
When installing your Eclipse speakers on the rear deck
of
your vehicle, you will
follow the same instructions as above as far as choosing a good location. The only
exception
is
that the high frequencies from rear deck mounted speakers will reflect
off ofthe rear window. Low frequencies will also
be
enhanced from the loading effect
ofthe rear window, making the rear deck an ideal location for your Eclipse speakers.
As far as the actual installation
is
concerned, you will follow the same instructions as
Door Mounting With Existing Holes, or Door Mounting Without Existing Holes, with
one exception: some vehicles require the speakers to be bottom loaded. For those
applications, we have supplied all of the necessary hardware to complete the task,
along with the diagram below.

CAR DOORS WITH EXISTING FACTORY HOLES
Usually the car will come with provisions for one pair
of
speakers.
If
your car has
holes and grills already in place, check with your Eclipse dealer to make sure that
you purchased the correct speaker to fit your car.
If
they are the correct speakers,
then you are ready to begin.
1.
Remove the door panels, paying special attention not to break any
of
the clips
that hold the door panel to the door. Some vehicles may require special tools to
remove the panels.
2.
Check for factory speaker wiring already
in
the door, otherwise run the provided
speaker wire through the factory grommet
in
the doorjam.
3.
Connect the speaker wire to the speaker, paying special attention to the polarity
of
the speaker. (If you are using the wire provided by Eclipse, the wire with the black
stripe is the negative wire.) Check to make sure that the wire is routed
in
such a
way as not to
get
hung up on the window mechanism.
4.
Next, mount the speaker into the factory cut out, using the appropriate hardware.
You
should have all
of
the hardware needed to tackle a standard type installation
i'
included with your Eclipse speakers.
5.
Check to make sure the window rolls down all the way without hitting either the
speaker, or the wire.
6.
Carefully reinstall the door panel, making sure not to damage the speakers,
or
the clips on the panel.
7.
Congratulations you are finished. Enjoy your new Eclipse speakers.

CAR DOORS WITHOUT EXISTING HOLES
Car doors without existing holes are a lot more challenging than car doors with holes.
Ifyou have a vehicle with no provisions for speakers, Eclipse strongly suggests that
you have your local Authorized Eclipse Dealer install them. But, if you must install
them yourself, please read on.
1.
Look for a suitable location on the door to mount the speakers. Usually the front
lower portion
of
the door
is
your only option. Be careful that the location you choose
doesn't interfere with opening and closing the door.
2.
Carefully remove the door panel, so as not to damage any
of
the clips on the
panel.
3.
More often than not, you will need to cut a hole
in
the metal portion
of
the door.
Before cutting, make sure that no wiring harnesses are behind the area that you will
be cutting, and also check to see if anything is mounted to the section
of
metal you
will be removing.
4.
It is also a good idea to check the clearance behind the metal, and make sure the
window track will clear the magnet on the speaker when fully installed.
5.
If everything checks out ok, place the template (provided) on the door panel that
you removed. Trace the circle onto the door.
6.
Carefully, cut your hole.
7.
Next, mount the door panel back onto the door, being careful not to break any
of
the clips that hold it onto the. door.
8.
Trace the hole that you just cut
in
the door panel onto the metal door, and then
remove the door panel again.
9.
Cut the hole
in
the metal door (Don't forget your safety glasses) Be sure to paint
the exposed metal with a rust resistant paint.
10. Now it's time to run the wire through the factory grommet
in
the door jam Be
sure to leave the ends with the terminals on the door side.
11.
Reinstall the door panel.
12. Connect the speaker wire to the speakers. (That's the easy part)
13. Now mount the speaker to the door
You
should drill a small pilot hole for each
screw.
14. Finally, make the electrical connections, and start on the other door If any part
of
this sounds like something you are a little uncomfortable doing, you should have
the speakers installed by your local Authorized Eclipse Dealer.

This limited warranty provided by Fujitsu Ten Corp. of America ("Eclipse") covers all defects
in
materials or workmanship under normal use
in
your new
Eclipse Product purchased from an authorized Eclipse retailer
in
the U.S.A. or Canada for a period of one (1) year from the date of original consumer
purchase. This limited warranty
is
valid only for the original consumer purchaser of Eclipse Product who must reside
in
either the U.S.A. or Canada
and is NOT transferable.
Sales
receipt
or
other
valid
proof
of
purchase
showing
the date
of
original
purchase
is
required
for
warranty
service
of
this
Product. Eclipse
may
charge
you
or
refuse service
for
the
Eclipse
Product
without
valid
proof
of
purchase.
WHAT IS COVERED
If the Product becomes defective
in
material or workmanship that may arise under normal use during the period of one (1) year from the date of original
consumer purchase, Eclipse will, at its option and without charge, repair your Eclipse Product with new or reconditioned components or parts, or replace
the Product with a reconditioned product of the same or functionally equivalent model. Eclipse retains as its property any retained parts or product that
is replaced on
an
exchange basis. Eclipse will return ship the unit to you and cover shipping charges.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
1.
This limited warranty does not cover any Product which is repaired by any non-authorized individual, retailer or service center, or any Product
purchased from a non-authorized retailer.
2.
This limited warranty does not cover any Product which has been subject to abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, Product modifications, improper
connection with peripherals, attempted theft, electrical power surge, liquid damage, flood, lightening, or other acts of nature, which has been used
other than
in
accordance with the instructions furnished by Eclipse
or
over the specification range, or which its serial number has been altered,
defaced or removed.
3.
This limited warranty does not cover elimination of car static, motor noise or other electrical interference, correction of problems resulting from
improper media such as CD, DVD or memory stick, vehicle's antenna system, and faulty installation, and de-activation of security code for the
Products containing ESN function.
4.
This limited warranty does not cover cosmetic damage including face panels and displays such as LCD or TFT, normal wear and tear, battery
replacement or periodic maintenance.
5.
This limited warranty does not cover any CD, DVD or other media damage including its contents caused by Eclipse products.
6.
This limited warranty does not cover any expenses paid or incurred by you
in
relation to this warranty. For example, you are responsible for removal
and installation ofthe Product as well as shipping to Eclipse, shipping charges and any damage during shipping.
7. This limited warranty does not apply when Product is used
in
a trade or business or
in
any industrial or commercial application.
