1. Introduction

We’re delighted that you have chosen the ‘kiddy cruiserfix pro’ as your

preferred booster child seat. The ‘kiddy cruiserfix pro’ is the latest innovative

product in our child seat line. Our special energy-absorbent design offers the

greatest possible safety in the event of frontal or side crash.

You can use this booster car seat for children weighing 33 to 100 lbs (15 to

45.3 kg) and up to 60 in. (152 cm) and is secured with a vehicle shoulder and

lap belt.

To gain the optimum protection for your child, the booster car seat must be

used exactly as described in this instruction manual.

2. Recommended use

The ‘kiddy cruiserfix pro’ booster car seat has been tested and certified to

FMVSS 213 for use with children who weigh between 33 and 100 pounds

(15.0 and 45.3 kg) and whose height is between 38 and 60 in (96 and 152

cm) (Children approximately 4 to 12 years of age.).

Children must meet ALL of the following criteria to use the booster car seat:

• Weight – 33 to 100 lbs (15.0 to 45.3 kg)

• Height – 38 to 60 in. (60 to 152 cm)

3. Genaral Safety Warnings

• Failure to follow the instructions and labels can result in serious injury or

death from ejection or contacting the vehicle interior. Read and follow

the information provided in the instruction manual and product labels

before using this booster car seat.

• Children 33 to 100 lbs (15.0 to 45.4 kg) must use the booster car seat.

• Discontinue use of this booster car seat when child’s weight exceeds

100 lbs (45.4 kg), height exceeds 57 in. (145 cm) or top of ears are

above top of seat back.

• To prevent ejection or injury in a crash, proper adjustment and use is

required.

• Check to make sure the booster car seat is properly adjusted to the size

of your child prior to travel. Do not attempt to make adjustments during travel.

• Make sure that the booster car seat has been installed in the vehicle

according to this operating manual.

• Use only the belt routing described in this manual and on the vehicle

seat labels to secure the child and booster car seat.

• The entire underside of the booster car seat must lie fully on the vehicle

seat. Do not place anything (e.g. cushions) under the booster car seat.

• Secure the child in this booster car seat with only a vehicle lap and

shoulder belt (also called 3-point belt).

• Never use only a vehicle lap belt to secure a child in this booster car seat.

• Make sure that all parts of the booster car seat are properly locked

in place.

• Never leave a child unattended in the booster car seat.

• If you need assistance with installation, please contact kiddy USA

Consumer Services at 1-855-92-KIDDY or consult your vehicle dealer or

manufacturer.

• Prevent burns. Keep the booster car seat out of direct sunlight or cover

with a blanket or towel to prevent heating of the surfaces.

• Always secure the booster car seat with the vehicle’s belts even if no

child is in the booster car seat. An unsecured car seat can injure other

occupants in a crash.

• Allow your child to take breaks during longer trips, and be sure that she /

he does not step out of the vehicle into traffic unattended.

• Always check and understand the vehicle’s operating manual regarding

how to use child restraint systems in your vehicle.

• The vehicle seat back must be in the upright position as recommended

by the vehicle manufacturer and locked in position (in vehicles with

fold-down backrests, through-loading facilities etc.).

• NEVER allow a child to play with this booster car seat. This booster car

seat is NOT a toy.

• Discontinue use of this booster car seat if it was used in a crash where

speed exceeded 10 mph. It must be returned to kiddy USA for

inspection and replacement if necessary.

• Discontinue use of this booster car seat after 8 years from the

manufacture date noted on the product.

• Do not use any accessories or parts supplied by other manufacturers.

• Do not make any modifications to the booster car seat; doing so will

reduce its effectiveness in a crash.

• Only transport a child properly secured in the booster car seat. Never

transport parcels or other objects in the booster car seat.

• Improper handling during installation or removal can cause damage to

your vehicle (e.g. paint damage or tears in the seat covers etc.) as well

as to the booster car seat.

• Vehicle seat covers made from materials such as velour, leather etc.

may show wear marks after using your booster car seat.

• You must register your booster car seat to be reached in the event of a

product recall or safety notice. Please take the time to fill out the

registration card and register today. You could also register your product

• Always use the child safety locks in your vehicles passenger doors, if

available.

• Make sure that none of the booster car seat's parts are caught in doors

or reclining seats.

4. Choosing a vehicle seating position and preparing to install

the booster car seat

4.1 Vehicle seat location requirements:

According to crash statistics, the National

Highway Traffic Administration recommends

children 12 and under are safer when properly

restrained in the rear seating positions than in

the front seating positions. Use a vehicle rear

seating position whenever possible (Fig. 1).

In vans and minivans it is particularly important

to ensure that the booster car seat installed in

an easily accessible seat in the event that

third-party rescue is required.

For use in a motor vehicle, please follow the

manufacturer’s recommendations in the

vehicle manual, or contact your vehicle dealer

(Fig. 1).

• Do not use this booster car seat in a front seating location or seat with

front, side or seatbelt airbag unless recommended by the vehicle

manufacturer in the vehicle owner's manual.

• Always read the vehicle’s owner manual on how to use child restraint

systems/booster car seats in the vehicle or contact your dealer to make

sure that you follow the instructions of the vehicle’s manufacturer.

• Some vehicles have no seating positions which are compatible with this

booster child seat or any other child seat. If in doubt, contact the vehicle

manufacturer for assistance.

• Some types of vehicle belts are NOT compatible with this booster car seat.

• The entire underside of the booster car seat must lie fully on the vehicle

seat. Do not place anything (e.g. cushions) under the booster car seat.

Please familiarize yourself thoroughly with the recommended use of car

seats as described in your vehicle’s owners manual.

This booster car seat MUST be used only with forward-facing vehicle seats. Do

not use this car seat with vehicle seats that face the side or rear of the vehicle.

Vehicle seat belts:

Many seat belt systems are not safe to use with the booster child seat.

The vehicle seat belt must be designed to secure the child tightly at all the

times.

Vehicle belts with top or bottom anchor

points on the vehicle door (Fig. 2)

Do not install this booster car seat in a vehicle seating position using the

k-fix connectors if:

The seat belt is located between the lower LATCH anchors.

The seat belt buckle is located between the lower LATCH anchors.

An appropriate vehicle three point seat belt will

have:

1. The shoulder belt upper retractor rigidly

fixed to the vehicle frame or vehicle

seat (Fig. 10) and

2. The lap belt rigidly fixed to the vehicle

frame or vehicle seat (Fig. 10).

Once you have chosen the seating position in the vehicle, place the

booster car seat on the vehicle seat, centered in the position so that the

booster car seat seat back fully contacts the vehicle seat back.

The backrest of this booster car seat is adjustable. It must be adjusted to fit

securely against the backrest of the vehicle seat.

• If the vehicle headrest holds the booster car

seat forward of the vehicle seat back, the

headrest should be adjusted or removed

(Fig. 11).

• If the vehicle seat back angle is adjustable,

adjust it to the upright position to match the

angle of the booster car seat.

4.3 Kiddy k-fix system

The kiddy k-fix system provides additional security by using the lower

anchors of the vehicle LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren)

system. The booster car seat does not use the top tether attachment.

Kiddy recommends using the k-fix system if possible.

Lower anchors can be found in most vehicles 2003 model year and newer.

Lower anchors may be indicated on the vehicle seat by icons.

Consult your vehicle manual or contact your vehicle dealer or manufacturer

for additional information on locating and using lower anchors.

5. Fitting the booster car seat to your child

5.1 Adjusting the headrest height

The booster car seat headrest can

be adjusted up or down to fit your

child according to his or her

seated height.

The headrest is positioned

correctly when the child’s ears are

at the narrowest area of the

headrest (Fig. 12).

The shoulder belt guide will be at or slightly above the child’s shoulders.

This will provide the best side impact protection for your child.

• Always adjust headrest to properly fit child’s height after any other seat

adjustments have been made.

1.To adjust the headrest height rotate the

handle out gently and raise or lower the

headrest to position the narrow area of the

headrest in line with the child's ears.

2.Release the headrest height adjustment

handle to lock headrest in position.

3.Check that the headrest is securely locked,

by gently pushing down on headrest.

4.Note that the shoulder rests change position

automatically as the headrest is adjusted to

best fit your child.

5.2 Adjusting the leg extension

Children grow differently. Your child can enjoy

substantially better seating comfort by

adjusting the leg extension.

The leg extension can be adjusted by pushing

or pulling into 4 positions.

6. Installing the booster car seat in the vehicle

The booster car seat is secured with your child in the vehicle using the

vehicle’s three point seatbelt system.

Additionally, if lower LATCH anchors are available in the chosen vehicle

seating position, the k-fix system can be used for added security.

6.1 Installation using k-fix:

1. The guide funnels may allow an easier

installation into your vehicle. Install the guide

funnels onto the lower anchors. Slide the guide

funnel between the vehicle seat bottom and

backrest at the lower anchor locations

(Fig. 15). Note the tall side should be up.

The guide funnel will click into place on the

lower anchor.

CAUTION! Some vehicle lower anchor positions will not allow the guide

funnels to be used. Do not force the guide funnels into position if they will not

slide easily onto the lower anchors. Damage to vehicle upholstery may occur.

• Use only the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt (or 3-point) system when

restraining the child in this booster car seat.

• NEVER use only the k-fix connectors to secure your child in the vehicle.

The vehicle’s three point seatbelt system must be used to secure your

child.

• Some vehicle seating positions will have lower LATCH anchors that will

not align with the booster car seat k-fix connectors. DO NOT use k-fix

connectors if the vehicle lower LATCH anchors do not align properly.

Install the booster car seat using the three point seatbelt only.

• Consult your vehicle manual for specific child restraint system installation

details.

• Only use anchorages in the vehicle that are designated as lower LATCH

anchorages.

2. Place the booster car seat on the vehicle

seat. To extend the k-fix connectors, press the

release button in the front under the leg

extension (Fig. 16). The k-fix connectors will

automatically extend from the back of the

booster car seat.

3. Test to confirm the connector hooks are

opened by pushing the release mechanisms

forward (Fig. 17).

The green indicators will not be showing when

the hooks are open and ready for installation.

4. Carefully position the booster car seat to

allow the k-fix connectors to slide into the guide

funnels (if used) and slide onto to the lower

anchors. Press firmly to lock the connectors in

place (Fig. 18).

5. If not using the guide funnels, it may be

necessary to rotate the k-fix connectors and

guide them onto the lower anchors.

6. When properly secured, the k-fix lock

indicators will show green (Fig. 19).

7. Test to confirm the k-fix connectors are

properly secured. Firmly pull the booster car

seat forward and side to side. Check that both

left and right side k-fix indicators show green.

8. To complete installation using the k-fix connectors, press and hold release

button while pressing the booster car seat towards the vehicle seatback.

The cruiserfix pro is installed and ready to secure your child with the vehicle’s

three point seatbelt as instructed in section ‘6.2 Securing your child’.

6.2 Securing your child:

1. Place the child in the booster car seat with

his or her back flat against the seatback.

2. Pull out vehicle three point lap and shoulder

belt placing belt under the arm rests of the

booster car seat (Fig. 20). Belt path is indicated

by red markings on the booster car seat’s seat

cover.

3. Buckle the vehicle seatbelt.

There will be an audible click. Pull the belts to

confirm the buckle is properly fastened (Fig.

20).

4. Pull the shoulder belt of the vehicle belt to

tighten the lap belt (Fig. 21; No. 1+2+3).

5. Place the shoulder belt under the armrest

closest to the buckle (Fig. 21).

• Use only the vehicle's three point lap and shoulder belt system when

restraining the child in this booster car seat.

• Do not allow child to slouch or slide down under lap belt.

• Do not place shoulder belt under arm or behind back.

• Do not use only a lap belt.

• Discontinue use of this booster car seat if top of child's ears are above

top of seat back.

6. Slide the upper shoulder belt into the

shoulder belt guide on the booster car seat’s

headrest on the side opposite vehicle buckle

(Fig. 22).

7. The shoulder belt is properly positioned

when it is not jammed against the front of the

shoulder belt guide hook (Fig. 23).

8. Pull the shoulder belt towards the vehicle

seatbelt retractor removing all slack from both

lap and shoulder belts (Fig. 24).

Check that child is properly restrained:

- Lap and shoulder belt must not be twisted and should be snugly adjusted

across the child.

- Lap belt must be snugly adjusted and low on hips, contacting upper thighs.

- Shoulder belt snugly adjusted, contacting chest, belt guide at or above

shoulder, and centered on shoulder.

- Child must be sitting upright in booster car seat.

- Vehicle belts must be properly routed under arm rests and through

shoulder belt guide.

- Periodically monitor the vehicle belts. Check that they are not twisted and

that the vehicle buckle is correctly secured.

6.3 Removing your child:

1. Unbuckle the vehicle seat belt.

2. Open the shoulder belt guide. Press

downward on the red shoulder belt guide

(Fig. 25; Step 1) then take the belt out to

the side (Fig. 25; Step 2).

3. Guide the vehicle belt into the retractor to

prevent twisting.

7. Removing the booster car seat secured with k-fix:

1. Press and hold release button (L) while

pulling the booster car seat away from the

vehicle seat back (Fig. 26).

• Always secure the booster car seat with the vehicle’s belts even if no

child is in the booster car seat. An unsecured car seat can injure other

occupants in a crash.

2. Open both left and right k-fix connectors (E)

by pressing the release mechanisms (N)

towards the front (past the green lock indicator

(O)) (Fig. 27).

3. When the connectors are open, the

booster car seat is detached from the lower

anchors.

4. Finally, the k-fix connectors (E) must be

retracted into the seat (J). Hold the release

button (L) (Fig. 28; Step 1) while pulling the

retraction tab (M) until the connectors are

completely inside the seat (Fig. 28; Step 2).

5. Let go of the release button (L) and then the

retraction tab (M).

8. Use on aircraft

This booster car seat is NOT certified for aircraft use.

Aircraft generally do not have a lap and shoulder belt as

required to use this booster car seat.

9. Removing and replacing the covers

• The covers are part of the safety design. Never use your booster car

seat without its original covers.

9.1 Removing the headrest cover

The headrest and backrest cover are sewn together as a single unit.

Slide the adjustable headrest (F) up to the highest position.

Free the cover around the height adjustment handle (Q) at the back of the

headrest (H) and below both shoulder belt guides (B). Gently pull the cover

off the headrest (H) from the back towards the front.

9.2 Removing the shoulder rest cover

Slide the adjustable headrest (H) down to the lowest position. Unsnap the

buttons on the rear of the shoulder rests (I). Gently pull the covers off the

shoulder rests from bottom to top.

9.3 Removing the seat cover

The leg extension (K) cover is fastened with elastic. Gently pull the cover off

from one side.

Open the press studs and hook and loop fasteners underneath the leg

extension (K) and at the bottom of the seat (J).

Remove the strap from the backrest (C) and pull the cover off in an upward

motion.

9.4 Replacing the covers

To replace the covers, follow the steps for removing the covers in reverse

order (see sections 9.1 – 9.3).

10. Instructions for care

10.1 Washing the covers

- The covers are machine washable in cold water

and mild soap on the delicate cycle.
