dischargechute.Thiscouldresultinpersonal
injury.
Tounclogthedischargechute,stayinthe
operatingpositionandreleasetheleft(traction)
lever.Whilerunningtheauger/impeller,pushdown
onthehandlestoraisethefrontofthemachinea
fewcentimeters(inches)offthepavement.Then
liftthehandlesquicklytobumpthefrontofthe
machineonthepavement.Repeatifnecessary
untilastreamofsnowcomesoutthedischarge
chute.
Ifyoucannotunclogthedischargechuteby
bumpingthefrontofthemachine,shutoffthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
usethesnow-cleanouttool(Figure13).
Important:Uncloggingthedischargechute
bybumpingthefrontofthemachineonthe
pavementmaycausetheskidstomove.Adjust
theskidsandtightentheskidboltssecurely;
refertoCheckingandAdjustingtheSkidsand
Scraper(page18).

startingtheengine.
Removeanobstructionfromthedischarge
chute;refertoClearingaClogged
DischargeChute(page15).Usethe
snow-cleanouttool(Figure14),notyour
hands,toremoveanobstructionfromthe
dischargechute.
Staybehindthehandlesandawayfrom
thedischargeopeningwhileoperatingthe
machine.
Keepyourface,hands,feet,andanyother
partofyourbodyorclothingawayfrom
concealed,moving,orrotatingparts.
WARNING
Theimpellercanthrowstones,toys,andother
foreignobjectsandcauseseriouspersonal
injurytoyouorbystanders.
Keeptheareatobeclearedfreeofall

movingpartsmayfreeze.Donotuseexcessive
forcewhentryingtooperatefrozencontrols.
Ifyouhavedifcultyoperatinganycontrolorpart,
starttheengineandletitrunforafewminutes.
Afterusingthemachine,lettheenginerunfor
afewminutestopreventmovingpartsfrom
freezing.Engagetheauger/impellertoclearany
remainingsnowfrominsidethehousing.Rotate
theQuickSticktopreventitfromfreezing.Shutoff
theengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removealliceandsnowfromthemachine.
Withtheengineoff,pulltherecoil-starthandle
severaltimesandpushtheelectric-startbutton
oncetopreventtherecoilstarterandelectric
starterfromfreezingup.
