Dismantle, empty and
reassemble the dirt
collection container.
Vacuum up about 50 fl
oz (1.5 l) warm water to
clean the inside of the
vacuum components.
The whirlpool created in
the container will rinse
the walls and remove
some of the dirt.
Empty the dirt
collection container
and rinse under running
water, using the brush
provided to clean
it if necessary.
Clean the attachments
and the accessories
under running water.

Pull the tube out of
the filter with the
micro-mesh.
Divide up all the
components and rinse
them under running water.
Dry filter components
when finished.

CLEANING THE WASHABLE HEPA FILTER
Remove the dirt collection
container.
Raise the lever to release
the HEPA filter and remove
it from its housing.
Rinse the filter under cold
running water.
After washing, shake the
filter gently to get rid of any
residual dirt and excess
water.
Let the filter dry naturally.
Wait 24 hours before
putting it back inside the
appliance.

Can I use ECOSTEAMVAC for vacuuming without steam?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Of course. ECOSTEAMVAC is a powerful vacuum cleaner with an “EcoActive” water filter.
The special whirlpool generated by the EcoActive-Filter introduces incoming air into the water,
retaining dirt and preventing dispersion of impurities in the air.
ECOSTEAMVAC therefore uses the natural power of water to collect and retain dust.
ECOSTEAMVAC can also be used to vacuum up liquids.
Do I need to fill the dirt collection container with water when using
the appliance for vacuuming without steam?
Yes. The water is the main filtering system for capturing dust, dust mites and pollens.
Using ECOSTEAMVAC without water in the dirt collection container could result in damage
to the motor and obstruction of the HEPA filter on the air outlet.
When vacuuming without steam, do I need to use both
buttons on the appliance?
No. The buttons on the appliance are for turning on the vacuum and turning on the boiler tank.
If you are vacuuming without steam, you will use only the vacuum switch.
You only need to use the boiler switch when using ECOSTEAMVAC with steam.
Am I obliged to use Bioecologico?
No. The use of Bioecologico is an option and is recommended to prevent foaming inside the dirt
collection container which may be caused by cleaning products or carpet shampoos used in the past that,
when vacuumed, may foam in the vortex.
Where and how much Bioecologico should I use?
Bioecologico has to be added to the water into the dirt collection container.
Never put it into the boiler tank.
Shake the bottle, hold it upright and squeeze once in order to obtain a pre-measured quantity (0.16 fl oz / 5 ml).
Pour it into the dirt collection container. One bottle of Bioecologico will provide approx 20 applications.

Why does ECOSTEAMVAC stop vacuuming if the water level in the
dirt collection container exceeds “MAX LEVEL”?
The appliance switches off automatically to protect the user and the correct functioning of the product itself.
It may switch off automatically if there is too much water in the tank or if you use ECOSTEAMVAC
to vacuum up liquids, and the liquids exceed the MAX level.
In these cases, the safety float automatically shuts down the appliance.
To resume cleaning, proceed as described in the “start-up – vacuuming” section of the quick use guide.
Can I use cleaning products in the boiler tank of ECOSTEAMVAC?
No, never add any cleaning products to the ECOSTEAMVAC boiler tank, as this would damage
the material it is made of. ECOSTEAMVAC’s steam makes use of cleaning products superfluous,
as the high temperature and the steam pressure itself act as natural surfactants,
dissolving dirt so that it can be dislodged by vacuuming.
What kind of water should I use?
Use regular tap water in the ECOSTEAMVAC boiler tank.
Water does however contain calcium, which will in the long term build up in the form of deposits
in the boiler tank, preventing the appliance from working properly.
It is therefore best to use a blend of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water or bottled spring water.
Never use 100% distilled water or bottled spring water but always mix them with 50% tap water.
Also never use water from clothes dryer, scented water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners,
pure distilled water or rain water. If you wish to use tap water only, prevent lime scale build-up by periodically
adding Polti’s natural decalcifier, KALSTOP FP 2003 in the boiler tank.
How much Kalstop should I use?
FOR DUAL MODEL: pour half vial of Kalstop into the boiler containing the recommended quantity of water.
If your water supply is particularly hard, you may want to use more (such as 1 vial for 34 fl oz / 1 liter of water).
FOR TURBO MODEL: we recommend you dilute 1 vial in 170 fl oz / 5 liters
of water before filling the tank with water.
