CE CERTIFICATION
The Mares regulators described in this manual have been tested and certified by Registered Test Centre No. 0426 -
Italcert - Viale Sarca 336, Milan - I, in compliance with EC directive 89/686/EEC of 21 December 1989. The test procedures
were conducted according to the EN 250: 2000 standard, in conformity with the aforesaid directive, which sets out the
conditions for marketing and essential safety requirements for Category III Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .
The certification testing results are as follows:
Model Warm water Cold waters Marking Position
(Temp. = > 10°C (50°F)) (Temp. < 10°C (50°F))
Octopus Prestige NTT approved approved CE 0426 on the hose
Octopus Prestigee approved approved CE 0426 on the hose
The CE 0426 mark of the Octopus is an adhesive label affixed to the hose. This label must never be removed. If the label
is accidentally removed, the applicable CE mark for the Octopus will be the one on the Mares first stage to which it is
connected. The CE markings indicate that the product is compliant with the essential health and safety requirements
(Att. II DE 89/686/CEE). The suffix 0426 after the letters “CE” indicates the Italcert Registered Test Center in charge of
monitoring the production under Art. 11B DE 89/686/EEC.
PRESTIGE NTT SECOND STAGE NANOTHERMOCONDUCTIVE TECHNOLOGY MARES PATENT
The most advanced medium-sized, high-performance, technopolymer second stage available on the market.
The integrated VAD system provides unbeatable performance that greatly exceeds the limits required for EC
certification.
The innovative Fluid Dynamic Deflector is engineered to receive and properly direct the airflow from the by-pass tube
to the mouthpiece. Combined with the VAD it delivers a very natural and effortless breathing.
Unique, revolutionary design. Large purge button in thermoplastic elastomer, extremely easy to use even when
wearing thick neoprene gloves. The “Mesh-Grid” system minimizes the likelihood of free-flow in strong currents. The
new design exhaust tee, with its streamlined shape, affords superior performance while directing air bubbles further
away from the face.
The use of thermoconductive nano-technopolymers in constructing the case makes it possible to replace the metal in
regulator second stages designed for use in cold water.
The external areas of the thermo-conductive case subject to abrasion are protected by overmoulded elastomer.
The Prestige NTT second stage is supplied with the patented “Dive-Pre Dive” system.
Moving the lever to “Pre Dive” (Fig. 1) noticeably decreases the sensitivity of the regulator when it’s not used during the
dive, thus preventing the occurrence of free-flow phenomena. During the dive however, the regulator must always be
used with the lever in the “Dive” position (Fig. 2).
The Prestige second stage of the Octopus version is equipped with a hose of considerable length (100 cm (39 in.)). Its
characteristic yellow color makes it immediately identifiable under any conditions.
WARNING
Never use the DPD lever in the intermediate position.

WARNING
Never start the dive with the lever in the “Pre Dive” or intermediate position. During the dive, the lever must be
kept in the “Dive” position.
Failure to observe this warning could result in potentially serious damage.
