2. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POSITIONING
This convector is usually situated in a place where the heat produced can be mixed with
the maximum volume of air.
The convector must be connected in a fixed position according to applicable regulations.
The convector must be installed in such a way that its switches and other controls are out of
the reach of any person situated in the batch or under the shower.
Wiring:
Wiring must agree with the requirements of the standard NFC 15-100. This convector of
class II is not connected to earth.
¨ IMPORTANT: “DO NOT COVER THE CONVECTOR”
If the convector is covered, there is the risk of
superheating. It is explicitly prohibited to cover the
convector or block the grating where the air enters or
leaves the convector due to the risk of damage of the
convector.
Avoid installing of the convector at a window sill, behind
curtains, behind a door or under the air suction. Observe
the minimal installation distances from the floor, the
walls, the furniture etc. .… (Fig. B).

4. WIRING
The installation must include an interrupting device for the disconnection in all poles. The
minimum distance of disconnected contacts must be at least 3 mm.
Current supply must be protected with a differential residual device intended at most for
the value equal to 30 mA in accordance with the provisions of the standard NFC15-100.
Wiring does not require dismantling of the convector.
The convector must not be installed under a fixed socket.
Use the original flexible cable (3 x 1 or 1.5 mm
2
AO5 VVF) and connect it to the mains
through a terminal box (the brown conductor = a phase, the blue conductor = a zero, the
black conductor = a pilot /measuring/ conductor).
The black conductor is meant for connecting a programming device which programs the
activity of the convector according to the use of a room; when the installation is carried
out with the programming device, this conductor is not used. In such case, it is
recommended to insulate the conductor from any electrical contact through a terminal box
or a domino.
¨ IMPORTANT:
In no case connect the black conductor to an earthing clip or a GREEN-YELLOW
conductor.
If the supply cable is damaged, it must be exchanged by the manufacturer, its after-sale
service or a qualified person to prevent any danger.
Verify that the conductors are tightened
correctly in the terminals of the terminal
box.
Any intervention in the convector must only
be carried out by qualified and approved
persons when the convector is
disconnected from the mains.
If the heating installation is programmed
through the pilot conductor, it is necessary
to disconnect the supply of the respective
convector/convectors and the pilot
conductor/conductors before any
intervention.
¨ NOTE: - The programming orders are distributed through the following signals
measured with regard to the zero conductor.

5. ACTIVITY
The electronic control of this device has been designed to give you maximum economy.
9 THE CONTROL BOX INCLUDES:
9 THE FUNCTION SWITCH
ALLOWS YOU TO SELECT 5 FUNCTIONS
x STOP (ARRET): to stop the heating (a stand-by mode).
x COMFORT (CONF): the comfort temperature is maintained in the room with
a control knob set to the Comfort mode.
x ECO (ECO): to maintain an economic temperature in the room.
x ANTI-FREEZE MODE (HGEL): to maintain an anti-freeze temperature in the room.
x PROGRAMMING (PROG): enables to accept programmed functional orders.
9 SETTING A COMFORT TEMPERATURE:
x Switch the function switch to the Comfort mode and set the control knob to the
position 5 or turn it until the heating pilot light lights up.
x Close the door. Wait for several hours until the temperature stabilizes at the
required value.
x If the reached temperature does not suit you, you can increase or decrease its
value by a quarter of point with the control knob.
x Wait again for several hours so that it is possible to verify the value of comfort
temperature.
I
8
9 SETTING OF FUNCTIONS FOR MAXIMAL ECONOMY:
x 1
st
case: YOU ARE IN THE ROOM. Set the function switch to the Comfort position.
The reached temperature corresponds to the originally set temperature. In case of
need, adjust the temperature with a thermometer.
x 2
nd
case: YOU ARE NOT IN THE ROOM OR DURING NIGHT. Set the function
switch to the ECO position. This economic position will cause the drop of temperature
in the room by approx. 3.5°C.
x 3
rd
case: ANTI-FREEZE MODE DURING A LONG ABSENCE. The room is not used
(a guest room or you leave for several days). Set the function switch to the ANTI-
FREEZE (HGEL) position: DO NOT MANIPULATE WITH THE CONTROL KNOB.
The room temperature is maintained at a minimal level to acquire the maximal economy
without the risk of icing, under the condition that the convector is dimensioned properly
and the room is closed (protected piping in the kitchen or bathroom: without
condensation).
- When the convector is heated for the first time, a bluish vapour can be
released which disappears after several minutes of operation of the
convector.
- DO NOT TOUCH the thermostat knob when the temperature has been
set; just manipulate with the function switch.
SETTING BY THE PROGRAMMING CASSETTE OR THE PROGRAMMING DEVICE:
This device programs your convector automatically through
the pilot conductor. As soon as the programming has been
carried out:
x Set the Comfort temperature as described above. Set
the function switch to the Comfort position and make setting
with the control knob.
x As soon as the temperature is stable, set the function
switch to the PROGRAMMING position. Temperature
decreases will be controlled automatically by the
programming device according to the data pre-recorded
with respect to your life rhythm.

USE OF THE 6 ORDER MODE THROUGH THE PILOT CONDUCTOR
If your installation is controlled by the Tempo EDF type controller (French Electrical
Companies), the decrease of temperature values Comfort 1 or Comfort 2 will be made
according to the order of this controller in compliance with a tariff season.
The following 6 orders are in question: Comfort, ECO, Comfort 1, Comfort 2, Anti-Freeze
Mode and Stop (see the table in Chapter 4).
x Comfort 1 induces the temperature decrease by –1°C in respect of the Comfort
position.
x Comfort 2 induces the temperature decrease by –2°C in respect of the Comfort
position.
NOTES:
- The functions Comfort 1 and Comfort 2 enable to decrease the power consumption
through the programming centre which carries out a tariff administration according to the
TEMPO EDF type contracts.
- As your convector is equipped with an electronic thermostat for 6 orders,
the changes controlled by the controller and the programming device are not
immediate; it is necessary to wait for approx. 15 seconds before they are processed.
x Exceptional use
: deviation of the convector from programming
Regardless the order sent from the programming centre or the controller you can make the
following settings yourselves:
If the room is permanently used, for example by a sick person, it is possible to
maintain permanently the comfort temperature (set the switch to the Comfort
position), except the cases when the orders Anti-Freeze Mode or Stop are
transmitted.
If the room is not used (for example a guest room), it is possible to maintain the
temperature at a very low level (the switch is set to the Anti-Freeze Mode position),
except the case when the order Stop is transmitted.
In both the foregoing cases, it is necessary to set the switch again to the
PROGRAMMING position after the exceptional use is cancelled.
¨ NOTE: If your installation is equipped with a performance limiter, the limiting is
a priority; your convector need not heat, although the switch is set to the Comfort position.
When the limiting is finished, the convector will start heating again.
I
10
9 USER ADVICE:
Remember: Your convector is equipped with an electronic thermostat to maintain
a constant temperature.
When the setting has been made through the control knob, do not touch the knob any
more. Then use exclusively these positions of the function switch: Anti-Freeze Mode,
ECO, Comfort, Programming and/or Stop.
- Positions of control knobs of individual convectors may differ for the same temperature.
The positions depend on the convector, its position in the room and on the room
furnishings.
- If your room is equipped with two convectors, the function switches of both convectors
must be set in the same way.
If a fireplace is used, set the function switch to the ECO position.
6. MAINTENANCE
In order to ensure the performance of the convector, it is necessary to remove dust from
the inner space regularly by a vacuum cleaner put on the convector gratings.
Remove dust from the convector surface with a soft cloth. Use a wet cloth to remove
spots.
Never use any abrasive material which could damage the epoxide and polyester coating.
