AL 101 ELECTRIC FOOD SLICER
Dear customer,
Please read these Operating Instructions through carefully before connecting your device to the
mains, in order to avoid damage due to incorrect use. Please pay particular attention to the safety
information. If you pass the device on to a third party, these Operating Instructions must also be
handed over.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
The appliance may be used only for it’s intended purpose. No responsibility can be taken for any
possible damage caused through incorrect use or improper handling.
Before connecting the appliance to the power source, check that the current and power match
those given on the rating plate.
Do not put the appliance or the plug in water or any other liquid. However should the appliance
accidentally fall into water, unplug the appliance immediately and have it checked by a qualified
person before using it again. Non-observance could cause a fatal electric shock!
Never attempt to open the housing yourself.
Do not place any kind of object into the inside of the housing.
Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on a damp floor or when the appliance itself is wet.
Do not touch the plug with wet or damp hands.
Check the cord and the plug regularly for any possible damage. If the cord or plug is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not use the appliance if it is dropped or otherwise damaged or if the cord or plug are damaged.
In the case of damage, take the appliance to an electrical repair shop for examination and repair if
necessary.
Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself. This could cause an electric shock.
Do not allow the cord to hang over sharp edges and keep it well away from hot objects and naked
flames. Remove the plug from the socket only by holding the plug.
For extra protection it is possible to fit the electric household installation with a fault current
breaker with a rated breaking current of not more than 30mA. Ask your electrician for advice.
Make sure that there is no danger that the cord or extension cord may inadvertently be pulled or
cause anyone to trip when in use.
If an extension cord is used it must be suited to the power consumption of the appliance,
otherwise overheating of the extension cord and/or plug may occur.
This appliance is not suitable for commercial use nor for use in the open air.
Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.
Children cannot recognise the dangers involved in the incorrect use of electrical appliances.
Therefore never allow children to use household appliances without supervision.
Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and each time before it
is cleaned.
Danger! Nominal voltage is still present in the appliance as long as the appliance is connected to
the mains socket.
Switch the appliance off before disconnecting from the mains.
Never use the cord to carry the appliance.
SPECIFIC SAFETY ADVICE
Important Note: Never use the device for more than 3 consecutive minutes. Before operating
the device again, let it cool down to room temperature first.
Careful! The cutting knife (8) is very sharp. You should exercise extreme caution when cleaning
the device.
After you finish cutting, always set the On/Off switch (2) back to the 0 position. Also, set the dial
(11) back to the minimal cutting strength. Pull the power plug.
Never feed the device with your bare hands. Always use the cutting sled (6) and the leftover tray
(4) to do so.
Attention! Do not use the device, unless all parts are properly installed.
Remove the cut food, only once the cutting knife (9) has come to a complete stop.
Careful! The leftover tray (4) has very sharp edges. You should exercise extreme caution when
cleaning the device.
The device is suitable for cutting of bread, sausage, meat, vegetables and fruit. You should not
use it to cut:
• Meat with bones • Foods with pits
• Hard, inedible parts of foods • Frozen foods
• Twisted and rolled roasts
As well as similar foods.
PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Remove all packaging.
Clean the device as described in
Care and Maintenance
.
OPERATION
Place the device on a flat, stable surface and flap down the footing (7).
To insert the cutting sled into the device, align the arrow of the sled (6) with the arrow of the
footing (7). The sled is now connected to the footing (7) and can be slid back and forth.
Insert the leftover tray (4) from the top into the duct of the sled (6), as shown in the illustration
below the
assembly
.
Adjust the dial (11) to the desired cutting strength.
Place the food on the cutting sled (6) and use the leftover tray (4) to lightly push the food towards
the cutting knife (8).

INSTRUCTIONS ON ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Do not dispose of this product in the usual household garbage at the end of its life
cycle; hand it over at a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic
appliances. The symbol on the product, the instructions for use or the packing will
inform about the methods for disposal.
The materials are recyclable as mentioned in its marking. By recycling, material recycling or
other forms of re-utilization of old appliances, you are making an important contribution to
protect our environment.
Please inquire at the community administration for the authorized disposal location.
GUARANTEE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
Before delivery our devices are subjected to rigorous quality control. If, despite all care, damage has
occurred during production or transportation, please return the device to your dealer. In addition to
statutory legal rights, the purchaser has an option to claim under the terms of the following
guarantee:
For the purchased device we provide 2 years guarantee, commencing from the day of sale. During
this period we will remedy all defects free of charge, which can be demonstrably attributed to
material or manufacturing defects, by repair or exchange.
Defects which arise due to improper handling of the device and malfunctions due to interventions
and repairs by third parties or the fitting of non-original parts, are not covered by this guarantee.

Connect the power plug (10) to a suitable power outlet.
Set the On/Off switch (2) to either 1,2 or 3.
Now you can press the safety switch (1). The cutting knife (8) will start to rotate. Once you
release the safety switch, the device will be turned off. Careful! As the device is powered, the
caster of the device will cause the knife to need about 2 seconds before it comes to a complete
stop.
The cutting sled (6) can be steadily and lightly pushed back and forth.
Should the rotation speed of the knife slow down while cutting the food, do not continue to push
the food against the knife (8). Wait a moment for the knife to regain its normal speed.
Once you are finished, always set the On/Off switch (2) back to the 0 position. Pull the plug.
Tip: When you wish to cut very thin slices, moisten the knife (8) with a moist cloth. This prevents
the food from sticking to the knife. While moistening the knife, the power plug should not be
connected to a power outlet!
Important note: Never use the device for more than 3 consecutive minutes. Before operating

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Please also observe the
safety advice.
Pull the power plug.
Remove the leftover tray (4) and the sled (6). To do so, slide the sled (6) along the footing (7) until
the arrows are aligned. Now you can lift the sled (6) and remove it. The leftover tray (4) and the
sled (6) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and some dishwashing detergent.
The device can be cleaned with a moist cloth after use and should be thoroughly dried with
another cloth afterwards.
Never use abrasive or aggressive detergents or utensils.
Never use gasoline or thinners to clean the device.
For easy cleaning, the knife (8) can be removed as follows: Turn the wing screw of the knife
locking clockwise. Hold the knife by the screw and carefully lift it out. Clean the knife (8) with
running water and some dishwashing detergent. For best results, use a dish mop. The inside
actuation parts may not be exposed to water. Therefore, thoroughly dry the knife (8).
Attention! The cutting knife (8) is very sharp! After cleaning the device, reinsert the knife and the
lock it in place by screwing the wing screw of the knife locking anticlockwise.
Store the device and its accessories, where they are inaccessible for children.
