1. Safety Instructions
WARNING

Warning: to avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
remove the cover. The interior does not contain any
parts that can be repaired by the user. Ask for
assistance by qualified personnel.
Important Warnings
Before using your appliance read this instruction manual carefully and keep it in
a safe place as you may need to consult it in the future.
Before powering on your appliance, and to ensure correct use, do not use it if:
- It has fallen on the ground;
- You notice any evidence of damage;
- Any anomaly occurs during its operation.
To avoid hazards and deterioration of your appliance through incorrect use it is
advisable to read the instructions carefully and attentively.
Your appliance must not be used for other purposes than those described in the
instruction manual. Safety is only guaranteed for household use and not for
commercial use. Incorrect use is not covered and automatically voids the
warranty.
Assistance
If there is a malfunction take your appliance to a qualified technician for
assistance.
This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 years old and by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if

they have been given instruction in using the appliance safely and if they understand the
hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance
must not be carried out by children without supervision.

1.1. Power Supply
Make sure the mains voltage is compatible with the appliance voltage. If this is
not the case consult the vendor or Customer Support Service.
1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables
Turn off the device when not in use.
Do not roll up or pull the cord to disconnect the appliance, and do not use it to
twine the appliance. Keep the cord away from warm surfaces.
Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket, or if it is not
working properly.
If the power cord is damaged, do not use your appliance. Take it to technical
assistance for replacement.
Make sure that your hands are dry when you insert the mains cord into the
appliance and into the wall socket.
1.3. Humidity and Water
Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance to
become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous. TO AVOID
FIRE HAZARD OR ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR APPLIANCE
TO HUMIDITY OR WATER. Do not place your appliance under water (for
example to wash it). Never immerse the motor unit or jar in water.
1.4. Cleaning
Always unplug the appliance before you clean it.
Never immerse the motor unit or jar in water. Do not clean the motor unit in the
dishwasher.

Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such
as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Tip: cleaning the jar and motor unit is easiest immediately after use.
1. Remove the small plug from the appliance and remove the plug from the wall
socket. Check that the appliance has cooled down sufficiently. (Fig. 1.1)
2. Hold the handle of the jar with one hand and with the other lift the motor unit,
removing it from the jar, using its handgrip (Fig. 1.2)
3. Clean the blade unit and overflow sensor by rinsing them under the tap (Fig.
1.3).
Do not touch the blades. The blades are very sharp.
Tip: if necessary, clean the blade unit and overflow sensor using a soft brush.
4. Clean the top part of the motor unit and the outside of the jar with a moist
cloth (Fig. 1.4).
Tip: if the appliance and the blade unit are very dirty, pour boiling hot water into
the jar and place the motor unit on the jar. Let the jar and the motor unit soak for
10 minutes.
5. Clean the inside of the jar, placing it under the tap. If necessary, use a brush
(Fig. 1.5).

1.5. General Precautions
Please follow the instructions in the user manual which help to properly
install and operate this product and enjoy its advanced features. Please

Maintenance and service operations are only to be carried out by
authorized dealers.
Any damage caused by manual modifications to the product is not
covered by the warranty.
Keep the appliance and its mains cord out of the reach of children when
the appliance is switched on or cooling down.
Keep the appliance and the mains cord away from hot surfaces.
The temperature of accessible surfaces is high when the appliance is
operating (Fig 2).
Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if the plugs, the mains cord or the appliance
itself are damaged.
This appliance is intended for household use only. If the appliance is
used incorrectly, or for professional or semi-professional purposes, or if
the instructions in this user’s manual are not followed, the guarantee will
become void.
Always place the appliance on a dry, flat and stable surface.
Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers, or that are
not specifically recommended. If you use such accessories or parts, your
guarantee becomes void.
This appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or a
separate remote-control system.
Do not leave the appliance unattended.
Do not operate the appliance when it is empty.
Never exceed the 1500 ml indication in the jar.

Beware of hot steam coming out of the appliance when you remove the
motor unit after preparing hot soup.
Be careful, the cutting edges of the blade unit are sharp.
Do not move the appliance when it is operating.

2.2. Operations Instructions
2.2.1. Preparing for use
Clean the appliance before you use it for the first time.
1. Hold the handle of the jar with one hand and with the other hand lift the motor
unit out of the jar using its handgrip (Fig. 3.1).
2. Fill the jar with water up to the 1500ml indication (Fig.3.2).
3. Hold the motor unit above the jar and, with both connectors aligned, lower the
motor unit into the jar (Fig. 3.3).
4. Plug the small plug into the socket of the jar (1) and the mains plug into the
wall socket (2) (Fig. 3.4).
5. Press the program selection button to select the program and then press the
start button (Fig. 3.5).
6. Hold the handle of the jar with one hand and with the other hand lift the motor
unit out of the jar using its handgrip (Fig. 3.1).

7. Pour the water out of the soup jar and rinse the inside of the jar under the tap
(Fig. 3.6).

2.2.2. Using the appliance
The soup maker has a blade unit for blending and a heating element to cook the
soup ingredients. You can also use the appliance to make compotes or veloute
soups. It includes 7 preset modes and a manual program button (use for a
recommended maximum time of 30 seconds):
A. Program to make a veloute soup in about 23 minutes.
B. Program to make a chunky soup in about 20 minutes.
C. Program to make chicken soup in about 30 minutes.
D. Program to make yogurt in about 7 minutes.
E. Program to make milkshakes in about 3 minutes.
F. Program to make compote in about 15 minutes.
G Program to make a mixed soup in about 40 minutes.
H. Manual blending program (use for a recommended maximum time of 60
seconds).
Note: You can find some delicious recipes and many tips in the recipe
booklet.
If you should make a mistake selecting a program; for instance, you
selected program A and pressed the start button, then realize that you
actually wanted program B, immediately press the I MENU and J START

buttons simultaneously in order to reset the machine. Next, select the
desired program and press start.
In certain programs you have to open the lid to add ingredients. Try to
close the lid as quickly as possible because once the motor unit is
removed, the soup maker only stores the program memory for 3 to 4
minutes.
2.2.3. General procedure
The following steps are general steps that apply to all five programs.
1. Hold the handle of the jar with one hand and with the other lift the motor
unit, removing it from the jar, using its handgrip (Fig. 4.1).
2. Put the ingredients in the jar (Fig. 4.2).
Note: if you are cooking meat and vegetables, make sure you put the
vegetables in the jar first.
Note: make sure the ingredients are spread evenly.
Tips
- For best taste, use fresh seasonal ingredients.
- Cut the ingredients into 2 cm cubes to get perfect results.
- Defrost ingredients before putting them in the jar.
3. Add water or another liquid to the ingredients in the jar (Fig. 4.3).
Make sure the water level is somewhere between the 1300 ml and 1500 ml
level.
4. Stir the liquid and ingredients (Fig. 4.4).
5. Hold the motor unit above the jar with both connectors aligned and then lower
the motor unit into the jar (Fig. 4.5).
6. Plug the small plug into the socket of the jar (1) and the mains plug into the
wall socket (2) (Fig. 4.6).
7. Press the program selection button to select the desired program (Fig. 4.8).
Tip: If you prefer your soup even finer, or if you would like to do some blending
in your chunky soup or compote, select the manual blending program and
press the start button to start blending until you get the desired consistency.
8. Press the Start button to begin using the machine (Fig. 4.7).

The corresponding light goes on and the soup maker starts the cooking and/or
blending process.
When the program has finished the appliance beeps intermittently.
9. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and from the appliance.
10. Hold the handle of the jar with one hand and with the other hand lift the
motor unit out of the jar using its handgrip (Fig. 4.1).
11. You can now pour the soup, veloute or compote into a bowl (Fig. 4.9).
Note: clean the appliance after every use. See “Cleaning” chapter.

Becken has designed this appliance in order to guarantee maximum reliability.
However, if a problem occurs you may be able to determine its cause by
following the procedures suggested in this section.
Do not attempt to open the appliance there is a risk of electrical shock.
If you are not able to solve the problem please contact your seller or
manufacturer.
All users must be familiar with this section. Knowing what could go wrong can
help to prevent problems occurring.
WARNING: any attempt to repair the appliance without contacting the
manufacturer will void the warranty.
If the problem persists take your appliance to the customer service of any
Worten, Modelo or Continente store in order to solve the problem.
Worten Equipamentos para o Lar provides a 2 year warranty for manufacturing
defects from the date of purchase of the appliance. The warranty is applicable
for correct use and maintenance of the appliance, namely according to the
instructions in this manual. Malfunctions caused by any other situations are not
covered by the warranty.
The repair of electric appliances must only be made by qualified technicians in
order to prevent future problems.
To avoid unnecessary risks, any malfunctions concerning wires or other
components must be repaired in a specialized technical support workshop
because suitable tools are required.

5. Protection of the Environment
In order to protect the environment we strive to reduce the
volume of packaging used, limiting it to three easily sorted
materials: cardboard, paper and plastic.
The appliance is manufactured using recyclable materials
once disassembled by a specialized company. Comply
with local regulations concerning recycling of all materials.
