Change Notice
As a result of 3M’s transition to comply with the RoHS* directive, all 3M Pleated Foil Shielded Cable,
Series 902xx will require a material change. This material change affects the outer jacket material only.
The material for the outer jacket will be changed from TPE to PVC to meet regulatory requirements. This
change will have no affect on the materials utilized for the internal cable or shielding and will in no way
change the electrical performance of the product.
3M will continue to accept purchase orders for the existing non–RoHS compliant product until
May 8, 2005.
*RoHS – Directive 2002/95/EC Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
Enhancement
In conjunction with the above product change, 3M ESD is pleased to announce the 3M Pleated Foil
Shielded Cable, Series 90201, 90202, 90204 and 90211 will be RoHS compliant** effective May 8, 2005.
Effective May 8, 2005, 3M will no longer accept purchase orders for products utilizing TPE jacket material.
New purchase orders will automatically default to the new RoHS compliant 3M stock number.

This change does not affect the form, fit or function of the cable; therefore product numbers will remain
unchanged. As a means for differentiating the non-RoHS version from the RoHS Compliant version, we
will be changing the 3M stock number (see attached for stock number cross reference). In addition, the
description as well as the factory run number will be updated to include “RC” for RoHS Compliant.
The 3M Pleated Foil Shielded Cable, Series 90201, 90202, 90204 and 90211 are available in standard
lengths of 100 feet.
No new literature will be issued at this time. Please use the latest revision of the respective Technical Sheet
that lists the RoHS and WEEE compliance in the Features and Benefits section.
**3M’s use of the term “RoHS compliant” means that the product or part does not contain any of the following substances in
excess of the following proposed maximum concentration values in any homogeneous material: (a) 0.1% (by weight) for each of
lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls or polybrominated diphenyl ethers; or (b) 0.01% (by weight) for
cadmium.
Actions Required
• Please notify customers of this product material change and resulting enhancement.
• Please assure that you reference the new 3M stock numbers affective May 8, 2005.
