Hamilton Beach 25409 Quesadilla Maker is an easy-to-use appliance that lets you make delicious, restaurant-style quesadillas at home. 13. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing

hot oil or other hot liquids.

14. To disconnect, turn controls to OFF ( ) and then remove plug from

wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never

pull from the power cord.

15. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

16. Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in.

17. During use, provide 4 to 6 inches air space above, behind, and on

both sides for air circulation. Do not use on surfaces where heat may

cause a problem.

18. Place the appliance only on a dry, level, and nonammable surface.

19. Never remove the quesadilla with any kind of cutting device or other

metallic kitchen utensil.

20. Always allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting

away. Never wind the cord around the appliance while it is still hot.

21. CAUTION: HOT SURFACE. The temperature of accessible

surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.

This appliance is intended for household use only.

w WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided

with either a polarized (one wide blade) or grounded (3-prong) plug

to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug ts only one way into a

polarized or grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the

plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the

plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not

t, have an electrician replace the outlet.

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce

the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a

longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used.

The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater

than the rating of the appliance. If the appliance is provided with a

grounded cord, the extension cord must also be a grounding 3-wire

cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will

not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by

children or accidentally tripped over.

Do not use this unit near an oven, heater, or replace.

To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage

appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

If using an extension cord, it should be connected to the unit’s power

cord before it is plugged into the outlet. In the case of a power failure,

the same procedure should be followed.

Parts and Features

Before ﬁrst use: Wipe the bottom and top cooking surfaces with a

damp, soapy cloth. Rinse cloth; then wipe surfaces again.

The Green Preheat Light comes

on when the unit has reached the

set temperature. For best results,

wait until the Preheat Light comes

on before starting to cook. This

means the unit has reached the

perfect temperature.

How to Use

1. Plug into outlet. Turn unit on.

w WARNING

Burn Hazard. Escaping steam can burn. Always use an oven mitt to protect hand when

opening lid on quesadilla maker.

NOTE: Processed cheeses and cheese spreads tend to melt very quickly and can cause overﬂow from the

tortilla. When using these types of cheeses, use a lesser amount and try to keep in center of the tortilla.

2. Allow to heat until the Green

Preheat Light comes on —

approximately 2–3 minutes.

The unit is now ready for use.

3. Raise cover. Center a 7- to

8-inch tortilla in the Quesadilla

Maker.

w CAUTION

Burn Hazard.

Do not touch cooking surfaces

4. Place desired ﬁlling(s) onto

tortilla (approximately 1/2

to 3/4 cup), leaving about

1/2 inch to 1 inch to the edge.

Do not overﬁll

5. Place a second tortilla over the

ﬁllings and the bottom tortilla,

centering it over the cooking

surface.

6. Close and lock Lid. Bake for

approximately 2–3 minutes or

until quesadilla begins to brown.

7. Open Lid carefully. Remove

quesadilla using heat-resistant

plastic tongs or spatula.

8. Unplug unit and allow to cool.

Once completely cool, wipe

clean with a damp, soapy cloth.

Care and Cleaning

w WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before

cleaning. Do not immerse cord, plug, or base in any liquid.

Tips for Best Results

• Always preheat the Quesadilla Maker.

• Spray cooking surface with nonstick spray before heating, if

desired.

• Try different types of ﬁllings in your quesadillas—cheeses, meats,

chopped onions, mushrooms, salsa—even peanut butter and jelly!

• Always use precooked meat. Raw meat will not cook thoroughly

and could be unsafe to eat. Visit foodsafety.gov for additional

information on safe cooking temperatures.

• Lid Latch will not lock if tortilla is overﬁlled. Ensure Lid will latch

closed.

• Remove quesadilla with heat-resistant plastic tongs or spatula. Do

not use metal knives or forks since they will scratch the Nonstick

Cooking Grids.

• This unit can also be used to make egg omelets. Use approximately

2 eggs and about 1/4 cup (118 ml) of any ﬁlling you would like.

Cook eggs completely and enjoy!

1. Unplug unit and allow to

cool. Once completely cool,

wipe clean with a damp,

soapy cloth.

2. Wipe cooking surfaces and

outside of unit with a damp,

soapy cloth. Rinse cloth and

wipe surfaces again.

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other

warranty or condition.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ﬁve (5) years from the date of original purchase in Canada

and one (1) year from the date of original purchase in the U.S. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any

component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a

product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater

value.

This warranty does not cover glass, ﬁlters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting

from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt,

as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or

subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as speciﬁed on the rating label (e.g., 120 V ~ 60 Hz).

We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the

amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or ﬁtness for a particular

purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written

warranty. This warranty gives you speciﬁc legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces

do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
