C PREPARATION
1 Sit the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
2 Keep the appliance and cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach of children.
3 Fit the grill plates inside the turned up ends of the wire frame.
4 Remove the raclette pans from the base unit.
C PREHEAT
5 Wipe the grill plates with a little cooking oil or butter.
, Don’t use low fat spread – it may burn on to the grill.
6 Put the plug into the power socket.
7 Move the switch to 1. The light will glow.
8 Let the metal grill plate heat for 3-4 minutes.
9 Let the stone grill plate heat for 25-30 minutes.
C USING THE GRILL
10 Cut the meat or vegetables thinly and cook them on top of the grill.
11 About 5 minutes before the grilled food is ready, cook cheese in the raclette pans.
12 Allow one raclette pan per person.
13 Fill each raclette pan threequarters full with cheese.
14 Place the raclette pans on the base, below the heating element.
15 Wait till the food has cooked, and the cheese has melted.
16 Remove the cooked food with wooden or plastic tools.
17 Move the switch to 0. The light will go off.
18 Serve the cheese with the cooked food.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
19 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning or storing away.
20 Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
21 To remove the wire frame from the supports, move each bend in towards the centre of the
appliance, then slide it up the slot in the top of the support.
22 To replace the wire frame, slide each bend down the slot and allow it to expand into the
wider part at the bottom of the slot.
23 Hand wash the removable parts.
` You may wash these parts in a dishwasher.
24 If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface
finishes.
25 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance.
, You may notice cracking on the stone grill plate – don’t worry, this is a natural consequence
of heating.
