This device is designed to improve stability for the Zirkona Height Adjustable Pole (sold separately). The brace is made of two steel tubes that can be adjusted to different lengths to fit your specific application. It attaches to the pole with a loop clamp and to your vehicle with customer-supplied hardware. The flat ends of the brace can be bent to fit your installation.

The Short Zirkona Support Brace is available in two sizes:

  • 7160-1340: 10.3" thru 16.3"
  • 7160-1341: 10.3" thru 35.3"

(Lengths from 10.25" to 29.25" will require cutting).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

7160-1340 & 7160-1341 Pole Braces have a 1.25" ID Loop Clamp and are designed
for use with the Zirkona Height Adjustable Pole 7110-1230.
7160-1340 has a range of 10.25" thru 16.25".
7160-1341 has a range of 10.25" thru 35.25".**
**(Lengths from 10.25" to 29.25" will require cutting).
Assembly
Slide the Brace Clamp onto the Outer tube.
DO NOT tighten at this time. Slide the inner tube into the outer
tube.
Slide the Loop Clamp over the Zirkona tube, paying
attention which side will be most suitable for attaching the
brace. Insert the bolt provided through the hole in the flat end
of the inner tube. Insert the bolt through the clearance hole in
the Loop Clamp and tighten to 15 in/lbs. Attach the
other end of the brace to the vehicle using customer supplied
hardware.
The flat ends of the brace may be bent to fit your installation.
When positioning the 7160-1340 Brace, do not exceed a length of
16.25". It is recommended that the brace tubes have 1"
of overlap.
When fitting the 7160-1341Brace, it may be necessary
to cut the inner tube to a length suitable for your
installation. It is recommended on installations
requiring the long brace that the inner tube have
2" minimum of insertion into the outer tube and
may have a maximum of approximately 6".
With vehicle end of the brace located. "Preload" the
brace by pushing the top of the pedestal tube in a
direction to extend the brace slightly (1/16 - 1/8 inch),
then tighten the Brace Clamp bolt to 15 in/lbs.
