This heater must be connected to the fixed wiring using a suitable means of termination.
The heater must be wired via a double pole switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm in both
the Live and Neutral poles to provide a suitable means of electrical isolation.
A 13A double pole switched fused connection unit with a flex outlet is recommended for heater
connection, positioned adjacent to the heater and not less than 1800mm from the floor.
Bath and Shower Room Installation
When installing the heater in a bath or shower room a minimum distance of not less than 600mm
must be maintained between the nearest edge of the bath / shower and the heater.
A minimum distance of 600mm must also be maintained between the bath / shower and means of
heater wiring termination and the double pole switch used for electrical isolation (unless pull cord
operated).
The heater wiring termination and switch must be positioned adjacent to the heater and not less than
1800mm from the floor.
Wall mounting
1. Choose a suitable position on the wall to mount the heater, ensuring minimum mounting height
of 1800mm from the floor and 150mm clearance between the heater and ceiling. Also ensure
150mm minimum distance around the heater from any flammable objects (e.g. curtains) as
shown in Fig 1.
2. Check to ensure that there are no hidden pipes or cables behind the wall where the heater is to
be mounted.
3. Place the wall mounting bracket horizontally on the wall and mark the position of the two holes.
4. Using a suitably sized masonry drill for the wall plugs supplied drill the two holes to the required
depth.
5. Secure wall mounting bracket to the wall using two of the fixing screws supplied as shown in
Fig 2.
6. With the hinged mounting bracket on the fan heater extended upwards position the fan heater
on to the wall mounting bracket ensuring that the two slots on the back of the fan heater are
fully located on the two vertical supports on the wall bracket.
7. Mark the position of the hole on the top mounting bracket.
8. Remove fan heater and drill hole to the required depth.
9. Reposition fan heater and secure top mounting bracket with the fixing screw supplied as shown
in Fig 2.
10. The fan heater should now be securely fixed to the wall.
11. Cut fan heater power supply cord to the required length for connection to supply fixed wiring
termination with appropriate flex-outlet facility.
12. Remove required length of the outer insulation of power supply cord and length of inner
conductor insulation from ends of individual conductors to ensure their correct termination and
connection to the appropriate terminals.
