Further to the Microsoft announcements Windows XP goes EOL on the 22

October 2010.

As a consequence of this all OEM suppliers need to EOL all standard XP downgrade models

and remove all proactive advertising for Windows XP.

Via the Microsoft end-user downgrade rights, end-users will be able to purchase a XP

recovery DVD up until July 2011 via the Lenovo support pages. They will need to pay for the

media and shipping not a licence. The XP RDVD will only have the XP OS and will not

contain drivers or applications such as TVTs for specific models.

If you have customers that want to buy 25 or more identical machines at a time with an XP

downgrade, we are able to create a custom part number to allow them to do this. To comply

with the Microsoft guidance we will need you to send us a copy of a letter from the

customer requesting this. Microsoft need us to be able to track the end customer.
