3. Product Features
WA-100 AudioBox is a portable device which playbacks music with S/PDIF and Stereo L/R
output on receiving data from iPhone, iPAD, Mac, Android Phone, Android Pad, PC, Notebook
wirelessly.
Support DLNA: Support standard DLNA digital media render function, from certificated DMC or
DMS tools, such as Windows Media Player 12, Allshare, Skifta(Android) etc
Support AirPlay: Support airplay streaming from iPhone, iPad, iTunes in Mac OS X and Windows,
and all other third party airplay enabled iOS APPs
Web Service : build in web server for network configuration, firmware management and other
settings
Support two connection setup possibilities: AP mode , AP-Client mode
AP Mode - Best performance
Direct connect your smart mobile device or computer to the WA-100 AudioBox through Wi-Fi.
This setup provides best performance for media streaming.
AP-Client Mode Most convenient
Connect WA-100 AudioBox device into your home network system is the most convenient
connection way. This setup provides the balance between performance and convenience.

4. Quick Start
Step 1: Connect the audio output on the WA-100 AudioBox device to your audio equipment.
Step 2: Connect the power adaptor to your WA-100 AudioBox device, and plug in to your power
outlet.
Step 3: WA-100 AudioBox will be powered ON. The SSID (default SSID is WA-XXXX) will be shown
on your device wireless network list. Make sure your PC or smart device is connected to WA-
100 AudioBox device or connected to the same network with the device.
Step 4: Run the music playback application, such as iPod (on iPhone/iPad), Skifta (on Android
device), Windows Media Player (on PC), or iTunes (on PC or Mac).
Step 5: Select the music and select WA-100 AudioBox device in speaker list and then play the
music.
5. LED Status
There is a LED on the device and it indicates the device working status.

6. Configure
WA-100 AudioBox supports Apple airplay and DLNA DMR from PC, smartphone and tablet with
iOS, Mac OS, Windows and Android OS.
Device Connection Setup
For device connection setup, there are two setup possibilities:
a) Direct connection Best performance
Whenever possible, always connect to the WA-100 AudioBox by direct connection through Wi-Fi.
This setup provides best performance for media streaming. To connect, please follow the steps
list below.
Step 1: Make sure WA-100 AudioBox device boot up and its SSID could be found in WiFi list. The
default SSID should be WA-XXXX, where XXXX are the last 4 digits of the MAC address. The
user will have the possibility to change this into anything, for example Office-1.
Step 2: Connect with the device by selecting its SSID like connecting with wireless access point.
If you were using Windows 7, system may alert you to select the network location, please select
Home network or Work network type.
From now on, you already connect the WA-100 AudioBox with your smart device successfully
and could start to share your contents.

You can use Internet browser on your PC or smart device to set the AudioBox, just directly enter
the device name like http://wa-xxxx and press Go.
If you want to enable Internet access when you connect to device directly, you need to setup
wireless network on device. You can refer the steps listed in next section to guide you how to
connect WA-100 AudioBox device to Home network.
b) Home network connection Most convenient
Connect WA-100 AudioBox device into your home network system is the most convenient
connection way. This setup provides the balance between performance and convenience. To
connect, please follow the steps list below.
Step 1: Connect the WA-100 AudioBox with your Home network. It could be configured from
your PC or smart device as follows.
Make sure WA-100 AudioBox device boot up and its SSID could be found in WiFi list.
Connect WA-100 AudioBox directly by connect its SSID from your PC or smart device
just like to connect a wireless AP.
Launch the Internet browser from your PC or smart device.
a. If Windows OS, just enter the device name like http://wa-xxxx and press Go.
b. If Mac OS/iOS, just enter http://wa-xxxx.local and press Go.
Input the default username and password (both are admin) to login the WA-100
AudioBox configuration system.

(* If you want to change the system UI language temperately, you can click the
Language link which is shown at bottom-left of the page to change language.
or
If you want to set the UI language permanently, you may go to Settings tab to reset
the language parameter. )
After logged in the device configuration system, you can select WiFi Setup tab to
continue setting.
All wireless networks which can be scanned will be listed automatically. If the network
you want to connect is not in the list, you can refresh the list by clicking the Refresh
button.
When the device scan wireless network, you may get an alert message Your device
will disconnect from AudioBox. If it could not be re-connected again, please connect
the AudioBox from your device manually. Please check your PC wireless connection, if
the connection to WA-100 AudioBox is lost, you need rebuild connection manually.
Click the wireless network link to connect it. If the network is security enabled, you
must input the password.

Step 2: Connect your smart device to the same network as the AudioBox. After the AudioBox
has been successfully connected to an AP, the device SSID will be disabled and hided for security.
If you want to access the device directly again then it has to reset the device.
Note: To get the best possible WiFi bandwidth when sharing contents from smart device to WiFiAduio Box,
we strongly recommend using direct connection mode.

System Settings
There are many system settings can be configured, such as Device Name, Default Language,
and “Password Protection etc.
After you logged in device configuration system by using Internet browser on your PC or smart
device, you can go Settings tab to setup these items.
You have the possibility to change the Device Name” into anything, for example "My-
LivingRoom".
And the WA-100 AudioBox support 9 languages now, such as English, Chinese, Dutch, German,
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and French.
Firmware Update & Default Settings Restore
Besides the configuration items mentioned above, you also can upgrade firmware and restore
default settings for WA-100 AudioBox device remotely.
After logged in WA-100 AudioBox device configuration system with Internet browser on your PC,
you can go Status tab to check current device status and perform firmware upgrade or default
settings restore action.
To upgrade firmware, you can click the Firmware Upgrade button which is on the bottom-
middle of the page. And a dialog window will be shown to let you select the firmware image.

When upgrade is complete, system will send a message to inform you.
To restore factory default settings, you can click Restore Default Settings button and a
warning dialog will be shown. You can click Restore button to continue.

7. Music Playback
Notice: To use Airplay or DLNA function, you must enable the Airplay or DLNA service on
WA-100 AudioBox device.
7.1 Play music from iPhone or iPad
There are two possible scenarios when playing music from iPhone or iPad. The music could be
either from iPhone or iPad’s local storage or from online Internet.
a) Share media from iPhone/iPad’s local storage
Launch the “iPod” application from iPhone or iPad, select the music from the playlist, and
choose “Airplay” to stream the music to WA-100 AudioBox. You could control the play, pause,
volume, and seek to specific position of the music from your iPhone or iPad. The “iPod”
application could be also put to background while you run other iPhone or iPad application
forefront.
b) Play online music from iPhone/iPad
There are many applications in the AppStore support Airplay, hence, you could play online music
contents provided by these apps to WA-100 AudioBox device. You could control the play, pause,
volume, and seek to specific position of the music from your iPhone or iPad.
For example, to play online music with QQ Music application you can select playback device
by type Airplay button on the screen and the device list will be shown. Then select WA-100
AudioBox to playback the current online music.

7.2 Play music from Android smartphone and tablet
There are also two possible scenarios when playing music from Android tablet or smartphone.
The music content could be either from the device’s local storage or from Internet online.
a) Play music from Android device’s local storage
There are many applications in Google Play market support DLNA function, such as Skifta,
iMediaShare and AllShare. These applications could stream music to WiFi AudioBox via DLNA
protocol.
For example, to play music with Skifta via DLNA, you may select the media server (local Android
device).
Then you need go to player list to select WA-100 AudioBox device to be the player. At last, you
can go media list to select music to play.

b) Play online music
Many applications also support online music playback via DLNA, such as Skifta, iMediaShare etc.
You can select online media server to get music contents, and then stream them to WA-100
AudioBox device. The steps are similar with playback the music contents in local storage.
7.3 Play music from Windows PC
You could also stream your local music via Apple iTunes via Airplay or Windows Media player via
DLNA.
For example, to play music with Windows Media Player via DLNA, you can select a song with
mouse right key. In popup menu, select Play to and select WA-100 AudioBox in device list
submenu. Then you will find the play window as follow.
To play music with iTunes via Airplay, you should go Music category and click the icon at top of
the window. Then you can select the WA-100 AudioBox device in the speaker list.

7.4 Play music from MAC OS
You could also play your local music via Apple iTunes via Airplay. The steps are similar with
using iTunes on PC.
8. Recover to Factory Firmware
It may happens that power supply is broken when you upgrading your device firmware. It will
cause the WA-100 AudioBox cannot work. At this time, you need to recover device firmware to
factory firmware.
To recover the current firmware to factory version, you can follow the steps list below:
Step 1: Press down the WPS key on WA-100 AudioBox device then power on.
Step 2: Hold on the WPS key more than 10 seconds.
Step 3: Then release the WPS key, the device starts recovery. The LED status will be changed to
solid red and blinking red since the device needs to reboot automatically several times.
Step 4: When the LED turns to solid red, the recovery is completed and device is working with
factory firmware.
After recovery is completed, you can connect to device from PC or smart device to upgrade
firmware to newest version again.
9. Restore to Default Settings
To restore your device to the default settings, you can follow the steps list below:
Step 1: Make sure the device is power on, then press down the WPS key on WA-100 AudioBox
device.
Step 2: Hold on the WPS key more than 10 seconds till the LED status is solid red.
Step 3: Then release the WPS key, the device starts reset.
Step 4: When the LED turns to solid red, the restore is completed and device is working with
default settings.
After restore is completed, you can connect to device from PC or smart device, and go Settings
tab to setup again.
