Safety information
Electrical safety
To prevent electric shock hazard, disconnect the power cable from the electric outlet
before relocating the system.
When adding or removing devices to or from the system, ensure that the power cables
for the devices are unplugged before the signal cables are connected. If possible,
disconnect all power cables from the existing system before you add a device.
Before connecting or removing signal cables from the motherboard, ensure that all
power cables are unplugged.
Seek professional assistance before using an adapter or extension cord. These
devices could interrupt the grounding circuit.
Ensure that your power supply is set to the correct voltage in your area. If you are not
sure about the voltage of the electrical outlet you are using, contact your local power
company.
If the power supply is broken, do not try to x it by yourself. Contact a qualied service
technician or your retailer.
Operation safety
Before installing the motherboard and adding devices on it, carefully read all the
manuals that came with the package.
Before using the product, ensure that all cables are correctly connected and the power
cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately.
To avoid short circuits, keep paper clips, screws, and staples away from connectors,
slots, sockets and circuitry.
Avoid dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Do not place the product in any area
where it may become wet.
Place the product on a stable surface.
If you encounter technical problems with the product, contact a qualied service
technician or your retailer.

same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries
according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

This guide provides general information and installation instructions about ASUS EBS-A700
IPC system. This guide is intended for users and administrators with experience handling
hardware and PC components.

1.1 Welcome!
Thank you for choosing the ASUS EBS-A700!
The ASUS EBS-A700 provides cutting-edge performance and uncompromised
reliability for industrial use.
The system is powered by the ASUS motherboard that supports the Intel® 13th /
12th Gen. Core™ i9 / i7 / i5 / i3, Pentium® and Celeron® processors in the Intel®
socket 1700.
The system supports up to 64 GB of system memory using DDR4 3200 MHz
DIMMs. High-resolution graphics via PCI Express x16 slots, SATA 6.0Gb/s,
USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and USB 2.0 ports take you ahead in the world of power
computing.

1.3 Front panel
The front panel includes the 5.25”CD-ROM bay and USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
1. Cabinet cover. Remove the screw to remove the cabinet cover.
2. USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps) ports. These 9-pin Universal Serial Bus
(USB) ports are for USB 3.2 Gen 1 devices.
3. 5.25-inch CD-ROM bay. Allows you to intall a CD-ROM in this bay.

1.4 Rear panel
The system rear panel includes the power connector and several I/O ports that
allow convenient connection of devices.
1. Video Graphics Adapter (VGA) port. This 15-pin port is for a VGA monitor
or other VGA-compatible device.
2. DisplayPort. This port is for a DisplayPort-compatible device.
3. HDMI™ ports. These ports are for a High-Denition Multimedia Interface
(HDMI™) connector, and are HDCP compliant allowing playback of HD DVD,
Blu-ray, and other protected content.
4. COM ports (COM, RS232/RS422/RS485). These ports connect modems, or
other devices that conform with serial specication.

5. USB 2.0 ports. These 4-pin Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports are for USB
2.0 devices.
6. LAN (RJ-45) ports. These ports allow Gigabit connection to a Local Area
Network (LAN) through a network hub.
7. USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10Gbps) ports. These 9-pin Universal Serial Bus
(USB) ports are for USB 3.2 Gen 2 devices.
8. USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps) ports. These 9-pin Universal Serial Bus
(USB) ports are for USB 3.2 Gen 1 devices.
9. Microphone port (pink). This port connects to a microphone.
10. Line Out port (lime). This port connects to a headphone or a speaker. In the
4.1, and 5.1 channel congurations, the function of this port becomes Front
Speaker Out.
Refer to the audio conguration table for the function of the audio ports in 2, 4,
5.1, or 7.1-channel conguration.

To congure a 7.1-channel audio output:
Use a chassis with HD audio module in the front panel to support a
7.1-channel audio output.

11. Expansion slot brackets. Remove the expansion slot bracket when
installing an expansion card.

12. HDD LED. The LED lights up or blinks to indicate the status of the HDD.
13. Reset button. Press this button to reset the system.
14. Power button. Press this button to turn the system on.
15. Power LED. The LED lights up or blinks to indicate the status of the system
power.
16. USB 2.0 ports. These 4-pin Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports are for USB
2.0 devices.
17. Serial ports (optional). These 9-pin COM ports are for pointing devices or
other serial devices.
18. Power supply unit fan vent. This vent is for the PSU fan that provides
ventilation inside the power supply unit.
19. Power connector. Plug the power cord to this connector.
