Important

Alwaysusethedefaultdipswitchsetting(positionB)iftherelationshipbetweendevicesinthesystemisnotdened.

ThecameraattachesaparticularVLANtagtoallitsforwardedmulticastpackages.Themediaconverterswitchmanageshowthese

multicastpackagesareforwardedbetweencameras,mediaconverterswitchesandothernetworkdevices.Thisespeciallyusefulwhen

connectingthecameraandmediaconverterswitchtothenetworkinadaisychain.

Bychangingthepositionofthedipswitches,eachnetworkconnectorportinthemediaconverterswitchcanbecongured

tomanagemulticastsinthreedifferentways.

VLANtagsareusedtocreateindependentlogicalnetworks,virtuallocalareanetworks(VLANs),withinaphysicalnetwork.Multiple

mediaconverterswitchesthatareconnectedtoeachotherinadaisychainaremembersofthesameVLAN.Themediaconverter

switchestagthemulticastpackagesmovingbetweenthemsothatthenextmediaconverterswitchinlineknowsthedestinationof

TheAxisproductincludesone(1)H.264decoderlicenseforviewingvideostreams.ThelicenseisautomaticallyinstalledwithAMC.

Theadministratorcandisabletheinstallationofthedecoders,topreventinstallationofunlicensedcopies.

2.EntertheIPaddressorhostnameoftheAxisproductinthebrowser’sLocation/Addresseld.Toaccesstheproductfroma

Macintoshcomputer(MacOSX),clickontheBonjourtabandselecttheproductfromthedrop-downlist.

clientsviewingsimultaneously.Amulticastcannothowever,passanetworkrouterunlessthe

routerisconguredtoallowthis.ItisnotpossibletomulticastovertheInternet,forexample.

Notealsothatallmulticastviewerscountasoneunicastviewerinthemaximumtotalof20

simultaneousconnections.

AXISMediaControlnegotiateswiththeAxisproducttodeterminethetransportprotocoltouse.Theorderofpriority,listedinthe
