1) Install 4 AA batteries into transmitter.
2) Turn transmitter ON.
3) Connect battery to the ESC. Turn On ESC. After 1-2 seconds the motor will
beep, indicating power is applied and is working properly.
4) Move steering controls right and left to ensure the model is reacting
correctly to inputs. If not, reverse the servo direction. Refer to the photo
above to find the servo-reversing switch.
5) Adjust the steering trim until both wheels appear even. Consult the drawing
below for how to adjust the steering trim.
6) While holding the model elevated off the ground, give throttle and brake
inputs on the transmitter to ensure your model is reacting accordingly.

TRANSMITTER ADJUSTMENT
The receiver in your 1/8th Scale Brian Deegan Metal
Mulisha Ford Raptor Short Course Truck is equipped with
a radio Fail-Safe. This means if the vehicle goes out of
range, transmitter goes dead, or other outside interfer-
ence occurs, the controls will return to a pre-set
position, usually neutral steering, and no throttle.
1) Make sure the steering and throttle controls are in their
neutral positions. Turn On the transmitter, and then the
receiver.
2) Press the Fail-Safe Button on the Receiver. The LED on
the receiver should be flashing once the button is
pressed.
3) Put the steering and throttle controls in the desired
position. Usually, both should be left at neutral. Press the
Fail-Safe button on the receiver. The settings will take
effect when the LED on the receiver goes from flashing,
to a solid red.
4) Test the Fail-Safe with the vehicle on a stand to prevent a
runaway vehicle. Apply some steering control, or throttle
input. While holding that input, turn Off the ESC. The
throttle should shut down, and the steering should
center. If not, repeat steps 1-3 above.
Position the throttle trigger in the neutral position, adjust the throttle
trim so the wheels do not spin

TROUBLESHOOTING
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
PROBLEM CAUSE

2) Damaged motor.
3) Damaged ESC.
No Control
1) Antenna may be broken or oriented incorrectly.
2) Model may be out of range from transmitter.
3) Weak or dead battery in transmitter.
4) Receiver not bound correctly to transmitter.
Short Run Time
1) Battery may be damaged.
2) Charger may be damaged.
Your Brian Deegan Metal Mulisha 1/8th Scale Ford Raptor Short Course Truck is a high
performance RC vehicle. From time to time it will require simple maintenance to keep it
running at top performance. Follow the steps below to ensure the longest life and best
performance of your vehicle.
1) Clean your vehicle after every use to prevent damage and excess wear from debris.
2) Check for loose screws, nuts, or other unsecured parts. Apply Thread Locking
Compound (T.L.C.) to all screws that are fastened into metal. Do not apply T.L.C. to
screws that go into plastic as this may damage the plastic.
3) Check for excess play or slop in all moving parts. This includes driveline components,
suspension parts, and bearings. Some items will wear over time and may require
replacement.
4) If your vehicle becomes submerged in water, after running, clean off the vehicle, open
the receiver box, and with compressed air, blow out any excess water in all
components.
5) Lube bearings with a light silicone oil or bearing oil to maintain best bearing
performance. If you run in wet conditions, be sure to lube all bearings frequently to
prevent them from rusting.
6) Check all electronic connections. Inspect the ESC and battery terminals. Over time they
can become dirty, which increases resistance and robs power from the system.
