4.Applianceuseandcare

5.Service
A.Haveyourapplianceservicedbyaqualiedrepair
personusingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.This
willensurethatthesafetyoftheapplianceismaintained.
B.Ifthecordisdamaged,itmustbereplacedbythe
manufacturer,itsauthorizedserviceagentora
similarlyqualiedinordertoavoidhazard.
6.Double-insulatedAppliance
Inadouble-insulatedappliance,2systemsofinsulation
areprovidedinsteadofgrounding.Nogroundingmeans
isprovidedonadouble-insulatedappliance,norshoulda
meansforgroundingbeaddedtotheappliance.Servicing
adouble-insulatedappliancerequiresextremecare
andknowledgeofthesystem,andshouldbedoneonly
bythequaliedservicepersonnelatyourAuthorized
ServiceDealer.Replacementpartsforadouble-insulated
appliancemustbeidenticaltothepartsthattheyreplace.

7.ExtensionCord
WARNING
Usinganincorrectextensioncordmayresultin

Useonlythree-wireextensioncordsthathavethree-prong
groundingplugsandgroundingreceptaclesthatacceptthe
appliance’splug.
Ensurethatyourextensioncordisingoodcondition.When
usinganextensioncord,useoneheavyenoughtocarry
thecurrentyourproductwilldraw.Anundersizedextension
cordwillcauseadropinlinevoltage,resultinginlossof
powerandoverheating.Thefollowingtableliststhecorrect

Maintenance
Aftereachuseofthetrimmer,completethefollowing:
1.Disconnectthetrimmerfromthepowersource.
2.Wipethetrimmercleanwithadampcloth.Donothosethe
trimmerdownorsubmergeitinwater.
3.Wipeorscrapecleananydebrisfromthecutting-headarea.
4.Checkandtightenallfasteners.Ifanypartisdamagedor
lost,repairorreplaceit.
5.Brushdebrisawayfromtheairintakeventsonthemotor
housingtopreventthemotorfromoverheating.
ReplacingtheString
Important:Useonly2mm(0.080in)diameter
monolamentstring(PartNo.88611).
1.Disconnectthetrimmerfromthepowersourceandclean
anydebrisfromthetrimmerhead.
2.Removeanyoldstringonthespoolbyrepetitivelypressing
thebumpbuttonwhilepullingthelineoutequallyfromboth
sidesofthetrimmer.
3.Cutapieceof2mm(0.080inch)stringtoapproximately
3.9m(13.0ft).
Important:Donotuseanyothergaugeortypeof
string,anddonotexceed3.9m(13.0ft)ofstring,asthis
coulddamagethetrimmer.
4.Pressandturntheknobonthestringheaduntilarrowonthe
knobalignswitharrowonthestringhead(Figure8).
5.Insert1endofthelineatanangleintotheLINEINeyeletand
pushthelinethroughthestringheadtrackuntilitcomesout
throughtheeyeletontheotherside.Pullthelinethoughthe
stringheaduntilthelineoutsidethestringisevenlydivided
oneachside.
