Requirements:
Mercedes with high speed data Usb port
Introduction
“The USB ports in your car seem like a convenient feature, but often don’t
provide enough power to charge your device while using it. Instead, they often
only slow the speed at which your battery drains your phone will use power
faster than the car USB port can supply it,”
The USB port in most cars is designed to read multimedia files from USB data
storage devices (e.g., Flash Drives etc.) and charging, but if streaming music,
using Nav apps, or making phone calls while charging, the phone battery slowly
dies. An effective phone charger is supposed to maintain a charge especially
while in use. The USB-HSD supports "Fast charging" and delivers up to 24W and
is optimally tuned depending on connected device. You always have the most
optimal charging current for a fast and safe charging process because the
output adapts exactly to smartphone battery demands making the
charging process particularly efficient. Uses existing USB port and installs at
ear of center console (Mercedes) or to HDS elsewhere. After installation, the
USB port can no longer be used to play Flash Drives etc. Use multimedia
port for music playback.
Installation
This install was performed in 2014 Mercedes C350 coupe and can be used guide
for other vehicles with High-Speed Data USB terminal.
The C350 USB High Speed Data terminals is located at the rear of center

These are a tight fit and may require some force. See Fig. 1

Frequent ask questions
1. My Mercedes has a USB port in glovebox. Will I be able to upgrade?
YES; but only with High-Speed Data connectors (See Fig. 5). Please check
prior to ordering. Please also note, power will need to be obtained from
alternate 12V supply location.
2. Will this charger damage my device?
NO; the USB-HSD is a fast and safe charger because the output adapts
exactly to smartphone battery demands making the charging process
particularly efficient. Some devices use a higher current for initial charge
and limit the amount of current required one device has reached a
predetermined charge level
3. Will I be able to connect and play thumb drives once USB port has
been converted?
NO; once converted, Mercedes USB port in glovebox will no longer play or
synch to multimedia system. Charging only.
4. Is the USB-HSD compatible with all Mercedes?
NO; works only in Mercedes High Speed Data USB ports.
