Intesis IN770AIR00SO000 is a protocol converter that allows the integration of the Hitachi air conditioning systems into a Modbus RTU, KNX, BACnet or Home Automation system. 1. Introducon
Intesis MAPS© is a soware tool for the conguraon and monitoring of the Intesis® gateways. It has been
designed and developed in-house, assuring an up-to-date tool to get all the potenal of our gateways.
Intesis MAPS is compable with Windows® 7 and higher.
The design of this conguraon tool focuses on four main pillars:
A user-friendly interface.
Mulple ways to create your project:
From scratch, using a template.
Imporng data from your computer.
Downloading the sengs from an already congured gateway.
Full linkage between the control system and the HVAC installaon signals.
Real-me monitoring of the HVAC network.

2. Prerequisites
To congure the gateway, you need:
The items supplied by HMS Networks:
Intesis IN770AIR00xO000 gateway.
Gateway documentaon.

USB Mini-B type to USB A type cable.
NOTE
For Modbus TCP, KNX, BACnet IP, and Home Automaon, you can use an Ethernet cable instead
(not included).
A computer to run the conguraon tool Intesis MAPS.
Requirements:
Windows 7 or higher.
Hard disk free space: 1 GB.
RAM: 4 GB.

3. Installaon
Downloading the soware
1. Enter the Intesis MAPS secon on the Intesis webpage: hps://www.intesis.com/products/intesis-maps
2. Fill out the form.
NOTE
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
3. Check the consent box (I hereby give consent for HMS to process my data).
4. Click the DOWNLOAD MAPS buon.
5. A .zip le will be downloaded to your computer.
Installing the soware
1. Click the .zip le to open it.
2. Double-click on the intesis-maps-installer.exe le.
NOTE
A message may pop up asking if you allow the soware to make changes to your computer. If
so, click Yes.
3. The Intesis MAPS Setup Wizard will guide you through the steps required to install Intesis MAPS on your
computer:
a. Read the license agreement and select I Agree.
b. Select the installaon folder.
4. Once the installaon is completed, click the Close buon.

4. Create a New Project from a Template
1. Open Intesis MAPS.
2. Click Create New Project in the Geng started menu on the le.
You can create a project from scratch using a template. To nd the appropriate template, lter the search
by:
Clicking on the protocol logos.
Typing the order code in the Order Code eld.
NOTE
The order code is printed on the silver label placed on the gateway's right side.
Looking for it on the list.

3. Select the desired template.
4. Click Next or double-click it in the list.
NOTE
The template is an example of integraon and may be used under this scope. Depending on the type
of integraon, you'll have to modify some parameters.

The following secons provide an overview of the ve tabs that compose the Intesis MAPS main menu. It is
through these opons that you will congure both the gateway and your project, and monitor that everything
works ne using the Diagnosc tab.

5.1. Conguraon Tab
Find on the le side of the Conguraon tab a menu with three opons:
General: To set general conguraon parameters of the gateway.
BMS Protocol: Modbus, KNX, BACnet, or Home Automaon, depending on your project's current
applicaon. In the case of the image on the le, the control installaon is based on Modbus.
Hitachi: The protocol of the AC installaon.

Use this menu to congure some general parameters of the gateway.
TIP
Toolp: Hover the cursor over a eld, and a message will appear indicang the purpose of the
parameter.

5.1.1.1. General Conguraon
Gateway Name: Type a descripve name for your gateway.
Project Descripon: Type a short descripon of your project.
5.1.1.2. Connecon
IP Address: Assign an IP address for the gateway.
NOTE
When commissioning the gateway for the rst me, DHCP will be enabled for 30 seconds. During
that me, you can type an IP address of your choice. Aer that me, the default IP address
192.168.100.246 will be automacally set.
This default IP address is wrien in the installaon sheet, too.
Net Mask: Set the gateway IP netmask.
Default Gateway: Set the default route assigned to the gateway.
Password: Click the Change buon and follow the instrucons to set a password for the gateway.
5.1.1.3. Time Conguraon
Set current PC me to the gateway: Connect the gateway to your PC and click the Set buon.
Time sync on project download: By enabling this opon, the gateway's clock sets to me when downloading
the project to the gateway.
5.1.1.4. Security
Edit Security Conguraon: Click the Edit buon to edit the security and cercate conguraon.
5.1.1.5. Wiring Diagram
Check Gateway's Wiring Diagram: Click the View buon to open a schemac image on how to wire the
gateway.
5.1.2. BMS Protocol
The parameters in this menu vary depending on the current applicaon. Consult these secons for each protocol:

Use this menu to integrate AC indoor and outdoor units into your project and congure some Hitachi protocol
parameters.
5.1.3.1. Discover Units
Autodiscover: This funcon discovers all indoor and outdoor units connected to the installaon.

1. Click the Scan buon to open the Scan Hitachi Units window:

2. Start the bus scanning by clicking the Scan buon.
3. Once the scanning has nished, you can select or deselect which units you want to integrate.
Check the Replace Units opon if you want the units you have now selected to replace the previously
listed units.
Check the Add Units opon if you want to add the units you have now selected to the previously listed
units.
4. Click Apply to replace/add the discovered units you have selected.
5.1.3.2. Units Conguraon
Use this table to congure some parameters related to the AC units of your project:
Unit ID: Check which units you want to integrate.
OU: Set a number for each outdoor unit.
IU: Set a number for each indoor unit.
Descripon: Type a descripon for each unit.
PSC-6RAD adapter: Enable this parameter for the indoor units connected to the H-Link through this kind of
adapter.
5.1.3.3. Global Parameters
Hitachi Temperature Units: Temperature unit in Celsius or Fahrenheit degrees.
5.1.3.4. Consumpon Funcon
With this funcon, you can monitor the energy consumpon of the integrated indoor units.
IMPORTANT
Before using this funcon, ensure the AC system and the pulse/Modbus energy meters are already
installed, wired, congured, and properly working.

Enable Consumpon Funcon: Click the checkbox to enable this parameter.
Select Energy Meters Input Mode: Choose between Modbus TCP Energy Meters and Pulse Meters & Binary
Inputs.
Energy Meters Conguraon: Click the Edit buon to open the Energy Meter Conguraon window.
NOTE
The conguraon parameters will vary depending on the energy meter type selected.
Energy meter conguraon for Modbus TCP Energy Meters.
Use the Select Meter parameter to choose the energy meter you want to congure.
NOTE
Up to three energy meters are available.
Meter 1 Conguraon.
Descripon: Type a descripon for the meter.
IP Address: It shows the IP address where the meter is located.
Port: Port for the Modbus TCP/IP connecon. (502 port by default).
Slave Number: Energy meter slave Modbus address (1 to 254).
Modbus Register (acve energy imported): Modbus register to read (1 to 65535).
Register Units: Choose Wh or kWh.
Read Funcon: Read register type for this funcon. Choose between funcon 3: Read Holding
Registers and funcon 4: Read Input Registers.
Data Length: Number of bits for the Modbus register (16, 32, or 64 bits).
Format: Select the data type between 0: Unsigned, 1: Signed (C2), 2: Signed (C1), 3: Float.
Byte Order: Choose Big Endian, Lile Endian, Word Inv BE, Word Inv LE.
Advanced MB Conguraon.
You can modify these Modbus parameters to adapt the Modbus communicaon to every installaon.

IMPORTANT
These parameters are for advanced users only. As a general rule, keep the default values for
proper communicaon with the meter.
Time InterFrame: Select the minimum me between received and sent frames (0 to 100000 ms.
Default value: 10 ms).
Retry Timeout: Select the minimum me between retry frames aer no response on the TCP
connecon (0 to 30000 ms. Default value: 5000 ms).
Conn. Timeout: Select the minimum me before launching an error message aer no response on the
TCP connecon (100 to 30000 ms. Default value: 10000 ms).
RX Timeout: Select the minimum me before launching an error message when no TCP frames are
received but the TCP connecon is OK (100 to 30000 ms. Default value: 5000 ms).
Time Slave Chg: Select the minimum me of silence when changing from one slave device to another
one (100 to 10000 ms. Default value: 100 ms).
Energy meter conguraon for Pulse Meters & Binary Inputs.
Use the Select Meter parameter to choose the energy meter you want to congure.
Meter 1 Conguraon.
Descripon: Type a descripon for the meter.
Binary Input (not editable): It shows to which gateway's digital input the meter will connect.
Pulse Measurement: Set the equivalence between pulses and energy.
IMPORTANT
This value must match with the conguraon of the energy meter device.
Pulse Width: It denes the width of each pulse.
IMPORTANT
This value must match with the conguraon of the energy meter device.
Trigger Edge Mode: Choose between Falling or Raising mode.
AC Consumpon Refresh Time: It denes the me to refresh the consumpon values for this energy
meter.
Energy Metering Signals Mode. Choose between:
General Consumpon. It acvates three signals for each indoor unit:

Energy Metering Units: Choose between Wh or KWh.
Assignaon table. Use this table to assign the previously selected Indoor Units to each Energy Meter.
Select the Energy Meter for each Outdoor Unit/Indoor Unit.

1. On the Connecon Type parameter, select the way you connected the gateway to your PC:
Select IP if you are using the Ethernet port of the Intesis gateway.
IMPORTANT
Make sure you have an internet connecon.
NOTE
When using the IP connecon, the gateway's name appears:
In black: It is compable with the selected template.
In red: It is not compable with the selected template.
Select USB Port if you are using the Console port of the gateway.
2. Select your gateway from the Discovered Gateways list on the le.
3. Click Connect.
NOTE
If your Intesis gateway rmware doesn't match the selected template, a pop-up window will prompt
you to download the correct rmware.

5.3. Signals Tab
This menu lists all available signals and their parameters for both BMS and Device protocols.

Regardless of the protocol, all signals share some common characteriscs and parameters:
Signals background color meaning:
Blue: General system signals.
Orange: Signals for the outdoor units.
White: Signals for the indoor units.
Below the list of signals, these opons are available:
Acve signals: Number of acve signals in the list.
Hide Disabled signals: Check this opon to hide all disabled signals from the list.
Edit Columns: Click this buon to hide/show any column of the list.

Export: Click this buon to export the current signals' conguraon to an xls le.
AA: Increases or decreases the font size.
Check table: Click this buon to check the signals' conguraon. If any parameter on any signal is wrong, a
message will pop up with specic informaon about the error.
5.4. Receive/Send Tab
Send:
Once you have nished seng the parameters, you have to send the conguraon to the gateway.
Follow these steps:
1. Click the Send buon.
a. If the gateway is sll factory-set, you will be prompted to save the project on your PC. Once you save it,
the conguraon is automacally sent to the gateway.
b. If you have already saved the project, the conguraon is automacally sent to the gateway.
2. Connect again with the gateway aer sending the le.
NOTICE
The gateway will reboot automacally once the new conguraon is loaded. This process may
take a few seconds.
Receive:
Use this funcon to get the conguraon of a gateway, for example, when you need to change some parameters
of a gateway already mounted in an installaon.
Once the conguraon is completed and sent, the gateway is already operave. Even so, you should check that
everything is working correctly by entering the Diagnosc tab.

IMPORTANT
Connecon with the gateway is required to use the diagnosc tools.
ToolBox:
Use the tools secon to:
Microprocessor icon: Check the current hardware status of the gateway.
LOG: Set Intesis MAPS in logging mode to record all the informaon present in the viewers and save it in a .zip
le.
INFO?: Get some gateway informaon.
RESET: Reset the gateway.
NOTE
Depending on your screen resoluon, the ToolBox icons may appear parally hidden behind the
Viewers window.
Viewers:
Intesis MAPS provides several viewers:
A generic console viewer for general informaon about communicaons and the gateway status.
A viewer for both protocols to check their current status.
A signals viewers to simulate the BMS behavior or check the system's current values.

The Intesis IN770AIR00xO000 gateway supports Modbus TCP and RTU, KNX, BACnet/IP and MS/TP, and Home
Automaon. The following secons provide the most relevant informaon for each one.

6.1.1.1. Modbus Conguraon
Type: You can select the communicaon type.
RTU: Serial communicaon over the EIA-485 bus.
TCP: IP communicaon over Ethernet.
RTU + TCP: Simultaneous communicaon (serial over the EIA-485 bus and IP over Ethernet at the same
me).
Modbus Addresses: Denes the type of Modbus register list.
Fixed: Addresses cannot be modied.
Custom: The Modbus register list can be freely edited.
V4 compability: Only Modbus addresses compable with V4 gateways1 will be acve. Addresses cannot be
modied.
6.1.1.2. RTU Conguraon
Selecng RTU as the communicaon type, you can congure:
Baudrate: This is the communicaon speed. You can select 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, or
115200 bps.
1V4 refers to old models of gateways.
