Magnum MEC46 has been designed to be user friendly,
however we strongly recommend you take a few minutes
to read through this manual to ensure correct operation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When punching;
- always ensure the machine is on a stable surface
- test punch scrap sheets and set the machine before punching final
documents
- remove staples and other metal articles prior to punching
- never exceed the machines quoted performance
Keep the machine away from heat and water sources.
Never altempt to open or otherwise repair the machine.
Plug the machine into an easily accessible socket
Turn off the machine after each use.
Unplug the machine when not in use for an extended period.
Please read before use and keep for future
reference.

COIL DIAMETER & DOCUMENT SIZES
Coil diameter sizes
To select the correct size coil for a document use the document measure card,stick on the baseplate.
SET UP
BEFORE YOU BIND
Select the correct coil diameter
to suit the document,according
to the document measure card
on the baseplate.
Test punch scrap sheets to check
edge guide setting.
Adjustable back-stop margin feature. Set the guide to suit the back
margin size required (2.5-6.5mm) Eg: 2.5mm suits small documents
(2-50 sheets), 5.5mm suits the largest documents (200-450 sheets)
Ensure the machine is on
a stable surface.

Check the waste tray is empty
and correctly fitted.

Fit the supplied power lead to
the power socket at the rear of
the machine.
Plug the footpedal to the socket

Turn the "bind/punch" button to
"punch", Then treat the footpedal
to punch

BINDING A DOCUMENT
Punch front and back covers
first.
Punch sheets in small batches
so as ont to overload the
machine or the user.
Switch the inserting roller on.
Collate the document. Load the
coil on to the first 3 holes.
Hold the document in both hands,
with the coil on the right
side. Touch the coil against
the inserting roller to bind the
document
Use the binding pliers to cut
and fold the end of the metal
coil. Clip off the excess coil.
Turn the document around.
Clip off the excess coil.
CORRECTING A BOUND DOCUMENT
REMOVAL OF WASTE CLIPPINGS
The waste tray is located under the machine and is accessed from the front side. For best results empty the tray regularly.

Additional sheets may be include or removed at any time by first removing the old coil. Correct document as necessary, then rebind as described.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Punched holes are not central
Machine will not punch

Check waste tray is empty. Check for blockage

Take stiff cardboard and slide into the paper
entry. Move the cardboard sideways to release
any stray clippings into the waste tray
Adjust edge guide and test punch scrap sheets
until correct
Punch plastic covers with paper sheets.
Reduce number of sheets being punched

Warranty & Incorrect Use
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Your Magnum Binding System should reach you in perfect condition, however please retain all of the original packaging once
you have unpacked your Binding System in case you need to return it for repair. If your system arrives damaged or faulty in
anyway, this must be reported to your supplier immediately. If the Binding System is sent back for repair under warranty and is
damaged in transit due to faulty packaging your warranty may be void.
The Binding System you have purchased includes a 1 year warranty on defective parts and general wear and tear, it does not
cover any damage to the punch blades through misuse or operator error due to incorrect substrates being punched.
