Flow velocity measurement
Hold the wheel into the air / gas ow to be measured. Allow the air / gas to ow 1.
in the direction of the arrow. The display will show the value in metres per second
(m/s).
Press the button “UNITS” to switch the display unit. The following units can be 2.
selected:
Feet per Minute (ft/min) -
Kilometres per hour (Km/h) -
Miles per hour (MPH) -
Knots (knots) -
The last unit used is memorized when the anemometer is turned off.The
anemometer continues using the unit when it is next turned on.
Air ow measurement
Press the button “UNITS” until the display unit is switched to cubic feet per minute 1.
(CFM) or cubic meter per minute (CMM).
You need to input the correct cross section area of the gas ow before the 2.
anemometer can give you the correct air ow measurement. Press and hold the
button “AREA”, after two “beep” sounds, you can input the gas ow area.
Use the button “UNITS” to change the value of the ashing digit. -
Use the button “HOLD” to move to the next digit. -
Use the button “MAX / MIN” to move the decimal point. -
Press and hold the button “AREA” to return to the measuring mode, you will hear 3.
two “beep” sounds and the gas ow area is set. The display now shows the air
ow measurement.
Ifoneofthemultipliers(x10orx100)appearsbelowthereading,multiplythe•
reading by the multiplier to obtain the correct value.
The anemometer stores the gas ow area data for CFM and CMM•
separately.Youdonotneedtoenterthegasowareaeverytimesolong
asthegasowareaisnotchanged.
Maximum, minimum and average value
During the measurement process press the button “MAX / MIN” once to display 1.
the maximum value. Press it again to display the minimum value. Press it three
times to display the average value. Press the button “MAX / MIN” four times to
return to normal measuring mode.
The word “MAX”, “MIN” or “AVG” is displayed on the screen indicating the reading 2.
is the maximum, minimum or average value. The word “REC” is displayed on the
screen indicating the anemometer is keep on updating the maximum, minimum
and average values.
After returning to normal measuring mode, the word “REC” is still shown, indicating 3.
the recording maximum, minimum and average values are still being updated in
the background.
Press and hold the button “MAX / MIN” to clear the recorded maximum, minimum 4.
and average values. Two “beep” sounds will be heard and the word “REC”
disappears if the values are cleared. Repeat the above process to start another
maximum, minimum or average value measurement.
Temperature measurement
The measured temperature is displayed on the screen. Press the temperature unit
button to change the temperature unit (ºC / ºF). The temperature sensor is inside the
ow rate sensor.
Hold
During the measurement process press the button “HOLD” to freeze the displayed 1.
value. The word “HOLD” shows on the display indicating the value is frozen.
Press the button “HOLD” again to release the reading.2.
Onlytheowvelocityandairowvaluewillbeheld.Thetemperaturevalue
will not be held.
Backlight
Press the backlight button to turn on / off the backlight.
Turn off
Press the on/off button to switch the device off.
The anemometer turns itself off if it is not used for approx. 15 mins. This function
can be deactivated by holding the backlight button while turning on the anemometer
with the on / off button. You will see the word “dis APO” if the auto power off function
is deactivated. The auto power off function resumes whenever the anemometer is
restarted. Thus, you need to deactivate it if you do not want it.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING7.
No maintenance is necessary for the device apart for occasional cleaning and the
changing of the battery.
Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth or brush only.
Never use aggressive or chemical cleaning agents, since this might damage the
surface of the housing or impair operation.
DISPOSAL8.
General
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect
human health and utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user
should return unserviceable product to relevant facilities in accordance with
statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed
separately and not as municipal waste.
Batteries / rechargeable batteries
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Disposing used batteries in the household waste
is prohibited! Batteries/ rechargeable batteries containing hazardous
substances are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin. The symbol
indicates that the product is forbidden to be disposed via the domestic
refuse. The chemical symbols for the respective hazardous substances are
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return used batteries/ rechargeable batteries free of charge to
any collecting point of your local authority, our stores or where batteries/
rechargeable batteries are sold.
Consequently you comply with your legal obligations and contribute to environmental
protection!

INTENDED USE1.
This product is designed to measure the temperature, ow velocity and air ow of
gases. Flow velocity can be displayed in ve different units on the display and air ow
can be displayed in two different units. Effective velocity (average speed), maximum
or minimum speed can also be displayed during the measuring process. Power is
supplied by three AAA batteries. The product is not suitable for medical or commercial
uses.
This product fulls European and national requirements related to electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC). CE conformity has been veried and the relevant statements
and documents have been deposited at the manufacturer.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the device are inadmissible because
of safety and approval reasons (CE). Any usage other than described above is not
permitted and can damage the product and lead to associated risks such as short-
circuit, re, electric shock, etc. Please read the operating instructions thoroughly and
keep them for further reference.

personal injury if the product has been abused in any way or damaged
by improper use or failure to observe these operating instructions.
The warranty/ guarantee will then expire!

before operating the device, otherwise there is risk of danger.
Persons / Product
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children!
The product must not be subjected to heavy mechanical stress.
The product must not be exposed it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
intense vibration, or dampness.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
In schools, training facilities, hobby or self-service workshops, handling of electrical
devices must be monitored by trained personnel.
When operating on commercial premises, the relevant accident prevention
regulations of workers’ compensation boards for electrical equipment must be
observed.
Make sure there are no devices with strong electric or magnetic elds such as
transformers, motors, cordless telephones and radio-controlled devices in the
vicinity of the product as these can inuence the product.
Do not switch the product on immediately after it has been taken from a cold to a
warm environment. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow
the product to reach room temperature before switching it on.
Batteries
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
Batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time
to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid
burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle
corrupted batteries.
Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying
around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow it.
All the batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries
in the device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into re. Never recharge
non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Miscellaneous
Repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.

Unscrew the screw on the battery compartment cover using a Phillips screwdriver 1.
and take off the cover of the battery compartment.
Insert three AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity. Take note of the labelling 2.
on the inside of the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment.3.
Replace the battery when the battery icon appears on the display.
OPERATION6.
Connection
Connect the ow rate sensor to the anemometer via the sensor jack while 1.
observing the correct direction. The arrow on the ow rate sensor must point
towards the front side of the anemometer.
Do not touch the wheel or insert any objects into the wheel mount’s
openings, as doing so may damage the wheel.
Press the on / off button to switch the device on. 2.
